- Email island — The message inside the bottle is really a flyer for Super Bowl XIX. At the end, the last pair of hallucinations that Strong Bad and Homestar have of each other are of the helmets worn by the two teams in said Super Bowl: the San Francisco 49ers (Homestar's hallucination of Strong Bad) and the Miami Dolphins (Strong Bad's hallucination of Homestar).
- Superbowl Dealie — The entire toon is about annual professional football championship.
- Email caffeine — Strong Sad claims while hyper, "I don't even watch football! I don't even watch football!"
- Email crying — Strong Bad "quotes" Li'l Brudder as saying "I'm gonna be a quarterback when I grow up. I'm gonna throw for 2,000 yards."
- Senorial Day — Senor Cardgage and Strong Bad "play catch" with a football.
