My take on it: Two kids will keep anyone busy. one can only hope that they're working on a feature length H*R toon.

It is true that Weclome back ended a 7 week hiatus, but we are going on 13 weeks here. the last toon was the Pumpkin Show on Nov 10. I'm afraid the reign of the Homestarmy might just be over. That said, few would be as excited as me to see another toon on the site. I check daily for a new dose of homestar.

OMG guys! WTPF! Stop being so negative! I read this topic and I'm like "am I the only true H*R fan around here?" All you can do is hope and wish! I don't know about you guys. but I go onto the website and the wiki EVERYDAY! And I find out something new everyday that I never even knew about! Then again, i'm just a fourteen year old without many friends and spends all his free time on Facebook and H*R, and spends most of his conversations trying to jam in H*R quotes. But at least I give a care! And another thing. What about that Mac pop-up that's on the site? Even thought TBC hasn't come out with a toon, they're at least looking at the site, they haven't forgotten about it!

It is not about being negative. It is about being realistic. Every month without an update is more people who will stop visiting the site. Including this wiki...

Ok, baby breaks don't take that long (I know that after my brother was born). I understand if 2 kids take up a lot of time, but this is their job (for the most part, unless anything changed in the past 4 months). They'll eventually have to make a new toon, the question is when.

One of the few considerations that I don't think has yet been mentioned is the possibility that the new baby has been suffering an illness of some sort which is consuming more of the Chapman's time to care for than if the baby were healthy, thus allowing them to resume work on Homestar Runner.

While I certainly hope everyone in the Chapman family is healthy and well, the possibility of an illness is something to consider and if such a thing is, indeed, the case, we should allow them as much time as possible before returning to the site.

I worry for the welfare of the show. I mean, there are still plenty of devout fans left out there, but the fanbase they already have isn't enough to make a good living, because the people who have been around forever have probably bought what they want to already. If they don't come out with new content, I worry that HR is gonna become old news that people don't suggest to their friends much anymore. I just feel like 4-5 months is an awfully long time to take a break without even really mentioning it one the site itself, or giving a single update on the subject since they left.

I don't want to be pessimistic, but I would like to bring up a (however UNLIKELY) point. Perhaps they're done with the whole "Homestar" concept. I mean, think about it. An artist doesn't want to spend their whole career on one thing, no matter how much I wish they would.

Perhaps one or both of them are highly addicted to an MMORPG. I have a mangaka who takes very long hiatuses between volumes because when he's not working, he's playing. I know from experience how addictive MMOs can be. In fact, I'm only here because of server maintanance.

Yeah, but if they were quitting on Homestar, you'd think they'd start a whole cartoon series. Perhaps the new baby & poor economy have forced them to get desk jobs & they can only deticate a limited time a day or week to the toons, & like most cartoonists, they want to finish a specific amount of whole toons before they start releasing weekly/biweekly.

I went to an art college. Absolutely everyone in that school watches Homestar. You can find Trogdor on bathroom walls, chalkboards, & carved into desks. Heheh, the things the animation students carve in their desks...

I worry also, though I certainly hope they don't plan to quit. I know focusing on one toon all the time may be tough from time to time, but it's way better than any regular job. I think they will post something eventually. Maybe the sales of SBCG4AP have let them take a leave of absence. I know I would take a long break if I could.
