ROUND FOUR: THE TROUBLE WITH TIBBINS
Exhibit A was directed to meet Hal Tibbins at River Square, which was in front of City Hall. Exhibit A and Tibbins were both on patrol, armed with the finest weaponry avaliable to the city - they had to be able to handle baneberry though, of course. They had to meet each other before, during, and after their patrol to give a status report. So far it was a quiet night and Exhibit A just had to meet Tibbins to pack up. He waited by River Square, observing how quiet and calm it was. A few miles away, however, it was anything but calm.
Two wolves were running out of the cave, one of them with a right eye larger than the other. The other one had a line going in between his eyes.
"You do know where the human is, right?" The wolf with the line asked his partner.
"Yeah, I was s'posed to meet back up with 'em at River Square. Should be there by now." the wolf with the green eye responded.
"You better be right, Tibbins. He will be angry if the human is gone."
They ran silently on all fours, cutting through dirt roads and trampling bushes. They never once had to stop to catch their breath and they never looked at each other. They were focused on one thing, and that was making a human close its eyes for the last time.
Exhibit A was leaning up against a wall when he heard something rustling. Immediately he drew his weapon and aimed it at the source of the noise: a large hedge. "I must be hearing things..." Exhibit A thought as he turned his head away to lean it up against the wall.
This was when they decided to strike.
Tibbins and the other wolf jumped out from the hedge, Tibbins snarling. Exhibit A heard Tibbins snarl and noticed the two wolves before they had reached him. Thinking quickly, he unloaded a smoke grenade and threw it at Tibbins's partner. The grenade latched on to him and two seconds later it exploded, sending him flying backwards in a cloud of smoke.
Tibbins stopped to go check on his partner but he only groaned "You fool! Get -eurgh- him!"
Exhibit A was ready this time, however. He had his gun ready and he smacked Tibbins in the head with it. Tibbins moaned on the ground as Exhibit A held him down.
"No, no, wait, WAIT!" Tibbins yelled out. "Ex, can I call you Ex? See, I'm not one of those dity wolves - I'm your pal Tibbins!" Tibbins reverted his face back to a human one, showing a scared, bug-eyed man with black hair.
"Ah, so you betrayed me?" Exhibit A held his gun up to Tibbins's head.
"No no NO, NO! I know who most of those scoundrels are, like my "par'ner" over there! I can give you names, places, anything!" Tibbins pleaded.
"How do I know you won't turn on me again?" Exhibit A simply responded. A second later he pulled the trigger and Tibbins was dead, a man with a wolf's body.
The other wolf groaned and stood up. He then began to laugh a dry, uncaring laugh. "You are a fool, do you know that? Tibbins would have sold the wolves out in a heartbeat just to save himself. Although I do like how this turned out; he was a tad annoying." The other wolf chuckled.
Exhibit A backed away, nearly having a heart attack. "I thought he was dead..." he though as the wolf walked towards him. Exhibit A bumped into a wall and then remembered what situation he was in. He reloaded his gun but it was too late. The wolf had already reached him. Exhibit A just whimpered as the wolf slashed right through him, leaving a hole in his chest and a huge splatter of blood on the wall. Exhibit A looked up at the wolf one last time and then fell down, closing his eyes for the last time.
----
The bodies were discovered early in the morning and they were taken away half an hour later. Another meeting in City Hall was called, and it was time for another lynch.
Exhibit A was killed. He was a human.
It is now a lynch round. This round ends on Saturday, October 20th.
