Lol no.
Teff makes crap up to try to save himself.
So uh... here's a super late story.
Night 7: The Night Watch
Ido Nos paced back and forth in his living quarters. It was now twenty minutes past nine and weer showed no signs of arrival. He had not seen weer since they made their deal, and he was beginning to worry. Would he show up? Was he in danger? Was any of this a good idea?
The knock came at 9:30. Ido answered and said, "You're late."
weer was out of breath. His hair was dishevelled and his coat was muddy. "Sorry," he panted. "I was doing field work down at the beach and I lost track of time."
"So what's the plan?"
"You know the little ridge on the north side of town? If we get in between the bushes up there, we can see the whole thing without being seen. We jut have to stay quiet. Are you packed?" Ido nodded and grabbed his pack, containing blankets, lily, some food, and coffee in a thermos to keep himself awake. "You ever stayed up all night before?" asked weer.
"Once, in college," said Ido. "It wasn't fun for me the next day."
"You'll be fine," said weer, and they exited.
A lone wolf crouched inside the tree. He tried to kid himself into thinking that the other two would be coming, but he knew better. The silence was long, broken only when Alpha awoke from his deep sleep.
WHERE ARE THE REST?
"They're too afraid to come out tonight. Master, you know by now that there is an angel working against us. Is there nothing you can do to stop it?"
NOT NOW, WHILE I AM STILL CHAINED, was the reply.
WHEN I AM STRONG, I WILL TEAR THIS PLACE APART. NOT EVEN A SERVANT OF THE ALL-FATHER WILL STOP ME THEN.
"But how long will that take? We're running out of humans, and they're getting smarter."
NOT LONG. I CAN ALREADY FEEL MY BOND LOOSENING. A FEW MORE HEARTS, PERHAPS.
The small wolf waited nervously. He wished the others were here so that they could be sent in his place.
YOU ARE AFRAID. I CAN SMELL IT. AS WELL YOU SHOULD BE. THESE ARE FORCES FAR OLDER AND MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN UNDERSTAND. BUT I AM MERCIFUL. YOU MAY REST TONIGHT. The lone wolf breathed a sigh of relief, raised his head and howled in tribute to his lord.
Three in the morning and Ido was getting restless. "We haven't seen anything all night," he hissed. "Shouldn't they have been here by now?"
weer was nodding off. "Wha? Oh, yeah. What time is it? Three? What time do they usually come?"
"No idea, but this seems really late. If they stayed out this late at night, we'd see how tired they were at the meeting."
weer shrugged. "Maybe they don;t need as much sleep as we do. We don't exactly know a lot about their biology."
"Fair enough. But I wish we'd see
something. I came out here hoping to catch our mystery helper. But the town has been silent all night. What do you think?" There was no response. "weer?" He had fallen asleep. Ido sighed, took a sip of coffee and turned back toward the town, waiting for a sign that never came.
