For all you Firefox users, I dare you to use Internet Explorer for 1 day. The first 5 seconds you use it, you'll get hit by a pop-up.

So take the dare, use IE for a day.

I don't get pop-ups. Maybe IE likes me?

I haven't used IE in months, and I'm happy to say I don't miss it at all. Firefox is 100000000 times better.

I use Firefox at school and IE at home, and Firefox so owns IE. I just can't download it on the compy at home because it isn't mine.

That's not quite as true anymore with the advent of Windows XP's SP2 (which finally gives Internet Explorer a pop-up blocker), but I still don't much care for Internet Explorer.

Also, I must be the only person on the entierity of the forums that uses Opera, given how much I hear about Firefox this and Firefox that.

I don't really see a huge difference between IE and Firefox. Firefox loads a bit faster, but that's it. It seems like a waste of space on my compy to me.

Oh, dear God, I fear I may have opened the gates of the Inferno with that comment...

I take it you've never tried middle-clicking on a link in Firefox?

Well, you see, modern mice have what's called a scroll wheel. If you don't have a scroll wheel, then you're missing out. Anyway, that wheel is also a button -- you can click with it just like the left or right mouse buttons.

So what happens when you click a link with the scroll wheel?

Try it and find out. ;) The result will be Firefox's coolest feature ever.

Tabbed browsing isn't anything new with Firefox. I like it because it's the friendly browser. And no security holes.

I think part of the reason I've never bothered to try out Firefox is just because one of Firefox's supposed killer benefits (tabbed browsing) is something that Opera has too.

I think IE likes ModestlyHotGirl and I. She says she doesn't get pop-ups and neither do I. But my friend has Firefox and he says it's great.

Heh. I'm using IE right now. I'm always taking that dare. Witness the suckyness compared to Firefox.

I updated to SP2 a month ago (needed new atapi driver for 250gb hard drive grumble grumble was running the original xp for 3 years no reinstalls grumble grumble). I haven't checked out the "updated and secure" IE yet, nor do I intend on it. If I come across a site that needs IE, I find an alternative. Quite simple, really.

An ergonomic trackball? Those are annoying.

That'll speed things up for me. I always use tabs, but I always just press Control + Left Click. Now I can just middle click! Also, a question related to the middle button in FireFox: Is there some plugin that lets you use the middle button for scrolling, like in Internet Explorer or Word or whatever?

Doesn't work with my laptop's scroll wheel. That's okay. Pictures are displayed different (better) in Firefox.

Your scroll wheel should work fine out-of-the-box in Firefox. I can't imagine why it wouldn't, unless, maybe, you had a really funky mouse with some propreitary driver or something.

I use the middle button thing all the time with my regular old optical dell mouse, but it doesn't work at home with my Logitech MX700. It's a pain, but oh well. Also, I don't use IE much at all, but when I do, I don't get popups. I think it's because I religiously use Spybot S&D and Ad-aware, and I don't click on dumb things. ;)

Done and done. I had to use IE again after my comp was reformatted and we lost a lot of stuff, including the Fox. I found myself automatically middle-clicking links and then saying AAAAARRRGGGBLLBLBLBL when they didn't work.
