Just saw it. It was freaking awesome! It had just the right amount of humor and action to make it one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Some of the robot's voices were kinda annoying, though.

Ive been hearing a lot about how pirates sucked, but it didnt, people just didnt get it. However, it did suck compared to this movie, just as every other movie does. As one of my friends said (and got published in a paper) it was a total nerdgasm.

I totally had a nerdgasm during it. I had to struggle to keep my nerdgasmic moanings under control.

Yuss, it was awesome. Optimus Prime had a freaking sword. That was fricking sweet. Voice acting was decent, I don't see what everyone's complaining about.

Also, my brother was totally stoked that they had a vending machine Transformer, since he's been joking about one for the past few months.

I can't speak for anyone else here, but as for me...

I loved it! I swear I did my standard fangirl gesture and had to suppress a geeky squeal at least three times during the film. The voices were decent, and there was all sorts of dramatic orchestral goodness... (Man, when are they coming out with that score album?)

Semi-spoilerness in tiny font: Anyone else find the kid's moment of seemingly rational thought (or at least more rational than Prime) amusing?

Anyways, my friends and I intend to see Transformers tomorrow. It looks pretty good, and most of us are really looking forward to it. I'm not really into the deep meanings, clever lines, sentimentality, and masterful plot manipulation though, I'm looking forward to mass destruction and foightin' robuts! I don't understand why everyone these days pays to watch a movie and expect to depart on the greatest cinematic adventure of all time. Why can't people just appreciate the cheap thrills and giddy pleasures a movie offers? Why does everyone set these unbelievable standards and expect every movie to live up to them? The truth is, every movie takes millions upon millions of dollars and several years to make. And yet people look past that and insist on pointing out the most shallow flaws. Can't we just appreciate the huge amounts of effort that go into every cinematic splendour and have a good time at the movies?

Whoa... I ranted. Sorry about that. I mean what I said though, I just don't know why it took a thread about the Transformers movie for me to get it out. But anywho, I'll put my two cents in on the movie tomorrow.

I found the plot to actually be half decent, and very good for an action movie. It still had some annoying clichés, but overall it was rather nice.

Of course, the giant robotic fighting was freaking epic. That is the entire reason why one should go.

Jesus, that was an epic movie. I have no clue what people are talking about when they complain about bad voice acting, I thought it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was when they pulled that Independence Day rip-off where they used Morse Code or whatever when all their communications were messed up.

People thought Pirates sucked because it's action scenes were few, and while it did have good writing, (Willl Turner still sucks though) it was mostly boring talky talky stuff in between with all the confusing deals and a death every 20 minutes or so.

My friends and I managed to catch Transformers yesterday, and it was a bit of alright! I loved the graphics, and the action scenes were freakin' intense! I really got a kick out of all the destruction and mayhem, sometimes how real it looked was almost too much to handle. Giant robuts shootin' lazers at each other and tackling each other into buildings is, like mentioned before in this thread, nerdgasmic. I almost wish the highway action sequence would've lasted longer though, Optimus Prime took down Bonecrusher within seconds! I also found it funny that Megatron, (voiced by Hugo Weaving), even delivered some Agent Smith-style lines. Eg. "At the end of the day, one will stand. One will fall." Megatron also found humans "disgusting", just like Agent Smith!

Negatives? Well... I'm not sure. I'd make a shallow remark and say the story was flukey, what with practically everything crucial to the Transformers linking to Sam Witwicky, but I won't. I guess the way a teen plot tied in to the end of the world was kind of... profound? Sure, let's go with profound. Transformers did have some cheesy aspects though. Like how Optimus Prime used the line: "Transformers: Roll out!" But I guess that line is reminiscent of the old TV series. How everything tied into eBay was a little wack though. And when the Decepticons would repeat: "Where is Ladiesman217?!", that was chessy. (In my eyes.) Anyways, a solid movie overall. I recommend seeing it.
