The Else is Great!! The Mesopotamians is the best song off the record. I hope to see the same stuff in Here Come The 123's *sighs in disbelief*

Not really resurrecting this thread. Yay!

Anyway, I want The Else SO BAD but I still have not bought it. I dunno why. Haven't found the time, I suppose.

Also, this is another controversial opinion, but I quite like The Spine. Come on. It's not that bad, you guys. D=

Agreed. The Spine is quite awesome.

So I've now aquired The Else. I've had it for a week, actually. I just haven't bothered to say anything about it. This should probably be the part where I rant about how awesome it is. I'm not going to do that. That would take several hours on my part and I don't have that kind of patience or time.

I saw a concert of theirs in October... it was pretty good. I feel like their really nice guys, I dunno, I just get that vibe. My dad works at the theater they were preforming in, so I got to meet them.

It's only available on iTunes until July.

That might have something to do with it. ;)

1. yeah yeah EVERYONE HAS SEEN THAT THING.

2. I don't mind that because you're the_stolker and are a pretty cool guy and don't usually post that often.

3. Yeah, it's awesome. But keep an eye out for the special features. That stuff is even better than the movie. Music videos = awesome. That time they were on the Tonight Show = mega awesome. This American Life = supra-mega-danga-clacka-clanga-bananaphone-jingle-jangle-gypsy awesome. Everything else = also awesome. And suchforth.

I saw it when I was at my friend's house. He had digital cable, and we were flipping through the channels, and then it was like "HOLY SHI IT'S JOHN LINNELL!" It was nice.

I just heard a TMBG cover of the Allman Brothers Band's Jessica.
Far be it from me to be the kind of person who does this sort of thing, but I really wish something bad would happen to them for that song. They didn't do a very good job at all.

Quick question, when is The Else coming out? Or is it already out?

The Else comes out on the 10th. Not long now!

Also, I got Factory Showroom yesterday. Thanks, eBay. You're my hero.

I got that a year or so ago at the used bookstore. I can agree with Rammy that it is officially awesome.

Very legal double post.

I bought The Else at Barnes & Noble, which means I got the bonus disc, Cast Your Pod to the Wind, too! I've only listened to two tracks and I already love it (The Else, not the bonus disc).

Starting to bounce back into liking a few of their songs. I used to be a huge fan. I've been to something like 5 of their shows, used to listen to them all the time. Then one day my perception switched and I started seeing all the criticisms my friends had about them.

Basically, they're awesome at making a good tune. Most times, though, I think their tunes would be better off performed by another group. (Also, I think Linnell sounds best singing the kinds of songs Flansburgh usually sings, and Flansburgh sounds best singing the kinds of songs Linnell usually sings.) I'd actually like to get good at singing and playing an instrument so I can do some covers of their stuff.

"Rest Awhile" and some of the mid-90s B-sides are current favorites. Oh yeah, and of course Birdhouse.
