WE didn't do anything wrong. Kinda like the children of illegal immigrants (at least the children that are born here), we can't help what others did.

Anyway, I heard a DJ this morning talking about a "non-political" (well, as non-political as a national anthem can be) spanish version of the Star Spangled Banner. He played it. It was still beautiful. I don't know who was singing it, but I would like to know. She had a really beautiful voice.

You don't sing another countries national anthem in a totaly different language. America is an english speaking country. English is a simple language. If any of you doubt then let me tell you this: I'm quadlingual. English is simple. This is OUR national anthem. If people want to come here legally then fine but our country needs a language. Otherwise it will be lingual anarchy which sucks. I would never sing the german national anthem in english.

There is no reason for me as a white person to be guilty. I am totally unresponsible for what my ancestors did. No one is hating the Scandinavians for being ex-vikings. Im Polish but I don't hate current Germans for what they did in the last world war. I blame the germans from back then.

And by the way, according to foreigners, English is a very hard language to learn.

Plus, every day in Spanish, we say the pledge of allegiance in Spanish. Why should this be any different?

A country needs unity. If there is no one language we don't have unity. IF you say the pledge simply for learning purposes thats ok but to take something that soldiers died for and mess it up is wrong.

Are you saying that tributing someone in another language is wrong?

And why should a country have only one language? It greatly improves economy, and unity has nothing to do with language. Look at Canada, they speak English and French, and they aren't really much civil warring if you could notice. And my area speaks English, Apache, and Spanish. It is a very tight-knit community.

Why? A friend of mine is a construction worker. He doesn't know spanish. There are so many illigal immigrants that he can't get a job cus none of them know english. Communication is way easier if you have one language. In West Virginia a lot of mining is going on. Right now it's requiered that you speak english well to get the job. If they changed that then people speaking any language could get there. If a bunch of spanish speaking people worked there with those that speak english then communication would go down. In the mines you can't screw up.
