Favorite Game Controller

Everyone has they're own specific tastes on the controlelr they feel is most comfortable. I prefer my Nyko mini Dualshock 2.

I'm actually fond of the N64 controller, though, I have Gamecube and PS2 (Meh) I play my N64 the most, so, I've become accustomed to the feel. I mostly play my N64 for Zelda

I have a MadCatz wireless Gamecube controller that has to be the most ergonomically comfortable object I have ever wrapped my fingers around.
It's slightly smaller than the regular GC controller and has like jelly pads on it.

I neever inderstood the N64 controller. How are you supposed to use the d-pad or L button? Or did most N64 games to use those? (I never had an N64)

Most didn't really use those, but I use the L button by using my thumb on the D-Pad and using my index finger to use L, that's what I have to do for DS.

Sony Dual Shock 2. 17 buttons laid out in a simple and extremely easy to use pattern. The vibrations are good too.

I just like the standard PS2 controller, preferably with overused and smoothed over analog sticks. The left analog stick should be sticky.

Oh wow, I just remember the dreamcast controller. I remember getting confused over the button configuration (I was ten at the time) but I absolutely loved the memory cards. For those that don't know, they had screens, plugged into the controller, and could function as almost-gameboys on occasion.

They were awesome.

I think I have that controller! its very nice

uhh... and i pick game cube, but i only have a gamecube at my house so... i really dont use any other controllers.

I've had a few of those. They're extremely comfy, too bad they freaking break so easily.

I'm the first one to vote for NES controllers? Wow.
I know it may seem like an inadequate controller nowadays, but back in the olden days it fit like a glove. And of course it still does when you play NES games with it.
My next favorite is definitely the GC controller.

The most comfortable controler for me is the one for Gamcube. The only downside is that it lacks the functionality of the PS2 controler (Control Sticks doubling as Buttons and additional trigger buttons) That plus the lack of Online play prevents me from being able to play games like Battlefront (THAT GAME ROCKS!!!).

I know. I think the person who designed it must have been from Australia because that thing looks like a boomerang.

Thankfully Sony is smarter than Microsoft by making everything backwards compatible.

Anyway, I need to change my choice, those Sega Genesis controllers were the best ever, they need those back. I also loved how they had a slow mo button on it, I always used to annoy my friends by pressing that in multiplayer :mrgreen:

I like my Makopad for my computer. It's a bulky looking 6-button control with D-pad and optional thumbpad. It doesn't look to comfortable to use, but it's what I'm used to whenever I need a controller for my compy (which is once in a blue moon). Console-wise, I've always liked my old Sega Genesis controller, also something I'm just very used to.

I had that controler. It was an Off Brand Turbo Controler. The slow Motion thing is nothing but a contantly self toggling pause button. It also had addition X. Y. and Z. buttons for reasons I can't remember.

Mad Cats made a turbo controler for N64. The Turbo button setting was useful in some situations (Especially in Paper Mario) but the slow motion setting was obsolete. The generations of console games before the N64, for the most part, did not have Pause Menus. When you try to press a button in "slow motion" on the N64 you wind up pressing a menu option. Also in Ocarana of Time it doesn't "slow down" time so much as it "Stops completely" because there is a brief moment before it actually unpauses the game when you can repause it.

All in all, slow motion is not that useful. Turbo buttons are the real gold in those controlers, unless you use them unwisely.

Yes, I remember I always used to vs. people in the very first sonic, and, I would always hit slow motion and they would be angry at me, and, I don't think the X,Y, or Z buttons were ever used in any Sega game I owned, reminds me of the M button on MadCatz Gamecube controllers, although, that had a use, right? For all the games I owned I've never used it.

I like the good ol' NES controllers. And Playstation ones. Newer controllers have too many buttons and stuff. It confuses me.

Crap! I swear I have a game for my Sega that used the X,Y,Z buttons but I can't remember what it was. The only XYZ controller I had was a wireless one which never worked that well.

Continuging the fanboy and fangirlism here, I gotta say, the GC controller has some pretty smart stuff going on. All the really important buttons are different sizes. Why did no one think of this before?

I absolutely DESPISE the PS and PS2 format with the cross-shaped arrangement of four utterly identical buttons. I cannot understand why the DS uses this abominable arrangement.
