You're absolutely right on all counts. Our society is going downhill fast. Hollywood is the heart of the corruption. The city must be allowed to die... But you're right on TV. Cartoons today suck. The only good stuff seems to come from Japan, where good story telling and animation thrive. I think Full Metal Alchemist is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but for every FMA there's a 12 Ounce Mouse (I can't think of a worse TV show, honestly. I'm sure there are, but every time I try to think of them I think of 12 Ounce Mouse).

Totally agree. Cartoons suck in the US, the only good ones are Futurama and Family Guy, and that's only two.

While I totally agree also, I am sorry but the fact that there are only two is simply incorrect. There are three good cartoon shows: You forgot about The Simpsons!!! :sm:

I have ADD. I do agree that America has some attention issues. HOwever I feel that if we can find something to focus on we will be fine.

I think Family Guy is a perfect example of America's growing case of ADD. Each episode has a basic plot that it tries to follow but it goes off on so many 5 second gag scenes that it would be very hard to follow for someone new to Family Guy.

5 second? Try 5 minutes. They can get really annoying sometimes. But that's a different conversation.

I think America's ADD is also affecting our patience with the war in Iraq. If you really thought Iraq would become a stable, democratic nation within 3 years of the US invading, you were dreaming.

But now so many people say that since we haven't "won" yet, the whole thing is a failure. Hey, have some patience! Germany and Japan didn't become good, solid democracies for many years after the end of WWII.

I for one, believe everything will end up fine. Just give it time.

In relation to only being able to think back about 5 years, wouldn't that be short attention span loss or whatever? Cuz ADD is different, it's like "Hey! A birdie!" Where as short-term attention loss is like "Who are you?" (talking to a relative)
