I'm conservative. I'm not a neocon. I've always been conservative. My parents are conservative, my grandparents are, well, we don't talk about politics or religion within earshot of them.

- Left-bearing party (Liberal)
- Right-bearing party (Conservative)

Last year, I've read a lot about American politics, because I wanted to know what the differences between left and right in the US are.
This may sound weird, but from a Dutch view, the US doesn't have a left-bearing party.
Liberals are right-bearing parties. Conservatives are extreme right-bearing parties.

If a Dutch wants to vote for a right-bearing party, he might vote for the biggest one, the VVD. The VVD is the Dutch liberal party. Left bearing parties are social parties like the SP or GroenLinks. (SP means Social Party and GroenLinks means Green Left)

Even the difference between Rupublicans and Democrats is so small from a Dutch view, that it would fit in one party in Holland.

EDIT: Wikipedia knows about Dutch politics.
