I just had freshman orientation a few days ago and I'm starting school tomorrow. My World History teacher also happens to be the football coach... and since his last name starts with a Z he has his team call him Coach Z!

I asked him if he had ever heard of Homestar Runner, and he said no, so I told him there's a Coach Z on it after explaining kind of what it was.

Does anybody suggest a cartoon for me to show him that won't horribly offend him? Like, not one where Coach Z is spending the holidays alone with a phone that "is" plugged in?

Well, if he has a sense of humor about himself, it shouldn't matter much. But that's just me.

If he's humorous, a jorb well done would be good.

A Folky tale might be nice, since it most accurately portrays a Gym Class...

But has more to do with fairy-tale creatures dying than gym class.

Jorby would be good, methinks.

I think a Folky-Tale would do good, because it's the only one that doesn't make fun of Coach Z. But if he has a sense of humor, a Jorb Well Done would do the best.

TBC's friend Craig Zobel that Coach Z was actually named after, for one. ;)

How about Coach Z's character video? That doesn't treat him too badly...

Though it seems most things Coach Z is in is either a bit-part or demeans him in some way... sometimes both.

I see no real harm in showing him anything involving Coach Z, inasmuch as it's not as if you created these things yourself to reflect on poor opinions of him, right? You're merely introducing him to a character which, coincidentally enough, shares his nickname. As such, I don't know how it could be offensive to him. Or rather, I can't see such a reaction as being within reason.

I agree with Sui. It's just the name. I would be happy if someone would give me a nickname after a funny person, but maybe that's just me.

If he has a good sense of humor and is nice, A Jorb Well Done would be good. Other than that, Bug In Mouth Disease or Cool Tapes, though those don't have Coach Z in them...

Oh well, they're all good intro toons.

A Jorb Well Done, probably.

Although his Character Video's not too weird either.

I don't know any helpful suggestions, but you should ask him, "Coach Z, how come you don't dance no more?" I'd definitely take that opportunity if I had it.

Oh my goodness.

I haven't laughed that hard in a while. And I don't know why. It just struck me as hilarious.

Whatever you do, don't show him garage sale. He'll get freaked out.

Yes, you should show him Hip Hop Dance.

Oh yeah. Haha. Forgot about that.

Hip Hop Dance seems like the funniest thing to show him, but he might not get the whole bad animation joke, so the obvious one would be his character video or maybe A Jorb Well Done. But I think it would be absolutely hilarious to ask him how come he don't dance no more. Garage Sale would be funny if he had seen a few more cartoons first.

He's referencing the easter egg in Action Figure. Coach Z's figure has "butt patting action".

Your Coach Z should watch something already. I think that he thinks that there is no other Coach Z and that your making it up. So show him one, and post about what happens. I can't wait to figure out the reaction :p !

My uncles name is Bubs. He doesn't share the same last name though. Lol. But he does own a car shop called Bubs Auto repair. I showed Bug In Mouth Disease, and he loved when Bubs pulled out a box with "Exhibbit A".

He's also refering to SB-Email stand up:

Lil' Strong Bad: Thank you Coach Z...for not patting my butt.

I'm sure he'll think it's pretty funny and not be offended. Mistaken identity is kind of a cool thing in general.
