Some people were bawww over in a different thread. Like, literally. But certain mods seem to like to focus on that. Because it's fun to screw with your forum-base.

Not really what BTG meant.

We all know RT has been bad the few days, but it really just represented an overall downward spiral of events in that thread. It's been degenerating into a LOT of spam, most of which would not have flown under the old rules, or even a stricter interpretation of the ones we currently have.

It's a bad thing because when the entire "wellness" of one forum ends up depending on ONE thread, the overall forum will suffer. God forbid you actually have to post something elsewhere, amirite

I think that we're all thinking over this way too much. It's just one thread. On one side we have a few people acting a bit like "WTF!?!?", and on the other side, we have the mods thinking that it's turning into "BAAAW"-ing. Why don't we just let it slide, and move on to other things? There's 10,127 other topics to post in at the Forum, so just wait out the lock.

Well, they are allowed to be upset, since it was basically the thread for things that weren't large enough to fall into making a new topic. Nobody is going to make threads for tinier subjects discussed in there ("hey guyz any help on my deafness from a Foreigner concert?"), so it kinda makes it a bit harder to speak what's on one's mind at the moment.

True. I guess I don't see the whole "get rid of the entire thing" instead of "scold the individual people" thing. Especially considering you guys can move bad sections into new topics(and spam them) and all that.

Why? How is this forum 'suffering' by having one crap-dump thread? I don't get the logic. I just don't get it. I'd sooner have people make idiot posts in the crap-dump, then make idiot posts in my quality threads. But then again, I guess they'd have a reason to be banned or whatever on those threads. Eh. I can sort've see it, in that case.

Since admins like SR and Ramrod have been on and seem to approve of all these shenanigans(by either not getting involved, or allowing it to happen), it now becomes less of "wtf is BTG and Ace doing" and more of "wtf is the entire frickin' mod group doing".

I've never been decent, babybaby. If I had a genuine beef with you, I'd PM you, but it's just an internet forum in my opinion. If I was truly tired of it, I'd leave, I'm just voicing my disappointment in the decisions you guys are making. Y'all always seem to 'act first' and 'think as a group later'

The thread can go, the thread can stay, it ultimately doesn't matter to me. I think my bigger disappointment is the way you guys go about it. This isn't the first example of bizarre happenings, though.

I guess that's what I get for getting into a forum that doesn't have a democracy mind, though. Makes me feel like an ant with a squeaky voice.

I like the fact that there is a topic for random, meaningless things. But I've seen problems with it.

If all the day's activity occurs in one thread, then what is the rest of the forum? Filler? When's the last time you heard "oh that post in How Ya Feelin was great" or whatever? Almost never. I've seen tons and tons of "wow i have to read up on all the random thoughts to see if i missed the important news!" posts. It makes the rest of the forum seem like a sideshow that isn't as important.

On an unrelated note, here's the full story:

People were getting annoyed at RT, there was talk of a lock.
Jitka and I thought it would be a fun joke to lock it page 999.
Mods were onboard, they deleted all discussion of the idea.
Then mods got all OH NO DRAMA BAD WE LOCK IT FOR SERIOUS NOW

So the prank never happened.

You guys seriously suck at pranks. First off, locking it at page 999 would make it obvious. Second, how would page 999-1000 be a "Holiday" or "cataclysmic Event"? Doesn't it just show that we haven't had lives for the past year or so?
