What toon do you think is next to be removed? I'd have to say "A Holiday Greeting" because it's kinda pushing it's limits for talking about Jesus like that

I don't think ANY toons are going to be removed soon. I know Marshmallow's Last Stand and Jumping Jack Contest were removed, but the TBC have their reasons.

I agree. They have no reason to remove any more toons, or at leats no reason I can think of.

I was hoping they'd put MLS back up as a tribute to their dad (Since he was the one who got them to keep it up so long in the first place).

But can you think of any reasons why the current ones are gone?
Maybe someday they'll put all the really old ones in a different section. I think those old ones are still pretty good, too good to delete or stick in the museum, so maybe just a toons section called 'old stuff' would do.

I strongly doubt that the 'toon would be removed for that reason. It only vaguely alludes to Jesus as some guy who was born. It's funny, inoffensive, and definitely in step with the rest of the site's sense of humor.

Yello Dello's violence is kind of surprising, but it pushes the envelope no farther than Sick Day does when it sticks The Cheat in the puke pail.

I really don't think any more 'toons will be removed.

Yeah, it's not offensive if you don't think much of Jesus. I think that Holiday Greeting and Yello Dello should get the axe.

I'm not terribly religious, but I come from a religious family. I'm quite certain that they wouldn't be offended by Holiday Greeting. Strong Bad isn't making fun or making light of Jesus. That's not the joke. The joke is that Strong Bad doesn't know the words to the song, so he tries to make them up. Then Homestar Runner interrupts him.

Do you see it differently? I really don't understand why this 'toon should be removed.

Additionally, why do you think Yello Dello should be removed? What would be your justification?

Christmas doesn't even exist in the H*R universe. It's Decemberween. Therefore the guy he is talking about probably isn't even Jesus. (although it may be someone who looks remarkably like him). lol.

I am not offended by it. And I don't see a reason to take the toon down other than maybe it's really old, not that funny... really short.... old animation style.... and uhhh... that's about it.

I could see the older toons being MOVED to maybe the Museum, but even that's really not likely. Meh. There's no reason to change nuttin'.

Well, sb_email 22 is the lost email. According the wiki (you know we have one, right?)

The reason why this is called "The Lost Email!" is because after The Brothers Chaps made email 21, cartoon, they went ahead and made email 23, little animal, skipping over number 22. Between vacation (#40) and invisibility (#41), The Brothers Chaps made email 22. The skip makes this email the last of the Tandy era.

So it could make things even more confusing.

OOOHHH, if you want it to be possessive, it's just I-T-S! If it's supposed to be a contraction, then it's I-T-apostrophe-S! Scalawag.

I'm not terribly religious either, and it would be extremely stereotypical and hypersensitive religious drone-ish to argue with your viewpoint on faith, so I won't. Anyway, Yello Dello just doesn't fit in. Homestar Runner is pretty much something safe and commercialism-ready now (but not in a bad way). It's lost the untame Weebl and Bob/Fat Pie sort of thing. Yello Dello should just go. The Chaps aren't as willing/free to make unfunny, violent, unprofessional stuff like that any more.

Holiday Greeting should still get burninated. :trogdor: Even if Strong Bad said that Jesus is great, it's still glamorizing the commercialism of Christmas, and what kind of Catholic (or Methodist, whichever spiritual faith The Chaps favor) makes "O Holy Night," "O Holy Crap"? That's just shameful.

Post subject:

Yeah, seriously, what's wrong with Yello Dello? o_O The only "violent" part I can think of is the tiny, tiny bit of blood after Homestar gets jackhammer'd on the head, and even that's REALLY minor. I actually think the cartoon's pretty cute, I don't want to see it go.

And Holiday Greeting isn't really offensive unless you WANT it to be offensive. Like someone up there said... the whole joke is that Strong Bad doesn't know the words so he just makes up a bunch of random crap instead.

For something on Homestar Runner, Yello Dello is violent. For people who are more serious about Jesus like me, Holiday Greeting is blasphemous. 'Nuff said. Peace.

You need to be more reasonable, kids watch this sight and adult butt ins want it to be clean, and saturn if taking out a gun and making a threat isn't violent, then slap me silly.

DumDeDummy I'm sorry I made the mistake, go bother someone else I'm not in the mood X-(

I'm British, but it doesn't offend me. I like all the references to the British newspapers and stuff. Then again, it doesn't really apply to me. I live in North England where we use goats and wives as currency and we're all farmers. The stereotypes apply more to upper-class Londoners - London being 6 hours away from me.

As for the other toons, I don't think any of them will be removed. Yello Dello isn't violent, it's only got a tiny amount of blood in it, let's just hope they don't make the blood green like when you beat Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time.

There is no Jesus in the Homestar universe, the 'guy who was born' could be anyone. Who knows what religion it is?

A Holiday greeting, maybe. Keep in mind we live in a free country and being a christian, i hate to admit it, Strong Bad should make fun of everything equally. As for Yello-Dello, See Strong Bad's claymation "Doug the Dino" and decide whether a little bleeding off homestar or a lotta clay blood is worse.

And besides, who says it's Jesus? This is another example of people making things as offensive as they want them to be (without realizing it), even if it is done subconciously (did that make any sense?)

... No.

If he shot the Yello Dello, it would be different.

What are you babbling about now? Seriously. Taking out a gun isn't violent, I mean violence is described as *ahem*:

Physical force exerted for the purpose of violating, damaging, or abusing.

Now, while Pom-Pom did physically take out the gun, he wasn't physically shooting the yello-dello. It was more of a MENTAL image of Pom-Pom shooting the bird, rather than the clay dinosaur physically eating that dude, spraying clay blood everywhere.

But, just like in the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal, Sex and violence is hard to describe as it differs from person to person. All in all, it is in TBC's hands to decide whether a cartoon is violent or not.

P.S. sorry about the long post, I feel the need to double-space ;)
