Hey, pardon me if this has been done before, but: What is your favorite reference on HR to some really obscure thing in pop culture, or history or whatever? Mine has gotta be the Mookie Wilson reference in 'Strongest Man in the World Remake'...big Mets fan here. i died when I heard that, I didn't think too many people from outside NY had Wilson on the radar still. |

Well, pretty much the whole cartoon is to do that. Wikipedia wrote: Homestar Runner is a Flash animated Internet cartoon. It mixes surreal humor with references to 1980s and 1990s pop culture, notably video games, classic television and popular music.
My favorite real world reference is (probubly isn't but I can't think of any more) when the end of the Stinkoman credits it had a picture of Vegeta from Dragonball Z. For some reason I found that really funny! Don't know why though(I don't even watch the show)... |

The SBemail "Boring (really)", when Strongbad was typing three-letter words , the word "Err" brought up SB as Groo. In Webcomics, the Spamusement parody. |

ummmmmm the only one i can think of now is the house that gave sucky treats where the cheats head explodes after eating pop rocks and some type of cola...just a reference to that (im)famous urban legend about the "life" cereal mascot died after eating pop rocks with soda (or coke to be more specific). |

The email, Yes, Wrestling, referenced everything I have wanted them to reference since I started watching three years ago. I was waiting for the toon where they gave a nod to the world of Wrestling. Had someone not done the Real-World References for the Wiki, I could have done them easily. |

Probably my flavorite is 's nickname for in Halloween Fairstival: Philly Cheat-Steak. Tied for flavorite is probably when dressed up as Andy Warhol.

Strong Bad singing Up, Up and Away in Main Page 9. (except he got the tune a little wrong, but that's probably for copyright reasons) |

"You'll microwave the baby!" is one, and also Coach Z's comment about getting shot by gangsters if you flash your headlights. Any urban legend reference. |

In "The House That Gave Suckey Treats" Homsar in a whimpy costume "I'l Gladly Pay You Tuesday For Some Candy Today" or The King Of Town's Mario Costume or maybe even Homestar's Kurt Cobain Costume |

As a fan of the real deal, I love the World's Strongest Man stuff (Magnus and such in particular). I also love the reference to George Lynch with Marzipan's skull/skeleton guitar. I laughed my head off when Coach Z dressed up as Theo Huxtable, too! There are more, but those are the first I thought of.

Super Kingio Bros. was cool, but I'd argue against it being truly obscure when half the Earth's population knows what Super Mario Bros. is, even if they've never played it.

Yeah, Super Kingio Bros. is pretty much the opposite of what this topic is about. |

Who's the guy that looks like The Cheat, and Pikachu flies by. Not The Cheat! Not The Cheat! I'm so glad Pokémon is passé. It just took over everything in the 90s. I still have a couple games, but I'm only keeping Gale of Darkness because of its better graphics and purpose. The handheld games are pointless. |

My favorite: Bubs saying to Coach Z that if anybody called him the Orange Coach Z that they'll get a free consultation from his friends Jacoby & Meyers. I grew up watching those lawyer commercials all the time on daytime television, and I just about died laughing. I love it everytime they parody something off of the Back to the Future movies... that's not too obscure, though. |

mine is Strong Sad's quoting of Once in a Lifetime in 3x Halloween Funjob. Well, Strong Sad, this is a beautiful house you got here. This is not my beautiful house! Oh, and I haven't been introduced to your beautiful wife yet neither! This is not my beautiful wife!despite that, I almost always hate real-world references because I barely ever know any of them. |
