DS_Kid wrote: Guys, take release dates from store websites like Target, Gamestop, EB Games, etc., as a grain of salt. Normally, these are placeholder dates and hold no true value towards the actual release. For actual release dates, check websites like IGN and Gamespot for official articles (don't always believe the dates on the main pages for these games, as they're sometimes not updated with the articles).
IGN and gamespot dont sell games, therefore they have absolutely no say in when the game comes out. Gamestop, ebgames, etc. all sell the games, therefore they would know when it is actually coming in stock. |

>.> It isn't as though companies keep release dates secret from everyone but stores. Besides, oftentimes a store will get a game in stock after its release date. And considering that the purpose of sites like IGN is to collect information about a game, it would stand to reason that they would know when it's coming out. |

Yes, but they dont lose any money for being incorrect, but [die please, exjon] does, which is why they would make sure that they are correct. There is no reason whatsoever to doubt ebgames or gamestop. |

I want to play Super Paper Mario so bad, it isn't funny. TP wasn't a problem, since it also came out on the Cube, but I have no options here. I need that game... |

What I was trying to say with my last post was that the dates on many store websites are just placeholders for the actual release. Since many stores offer different dates for game releases, you can't really take what they say as a fact. However, with news-dedicated websites for video games, you can get the up-to-date release information for games, since they'd probably receive word on a ground-breaking announcement such as the release date for Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Sorry if I wrote this poorly. It's late at night and my brain has entered sleep mode. EDIT: Oh, and I got Super Paper Mario, but I've barely had the chance to play it because of my falling-behindness in homework. |

I don't know which games you own for the Wii, but here are a few suggestions from what I've played: - The Godfather: Blackhand Edition (great controls, okay graphics) - Super Paper Mario (barely played it, but still fun for a semi-platformer) - Excite Truck (fast-paced and addicting) - Elebits (other than bad graphics, its fun to screw around with its okay physics) That's all I can think of for now, though. |

They give an estimate until the company gives an actualy release date. It's what every web site does. There is no reason to doubt retail websites and believe news web sites. They have an equal amount of accuracy. Edit: For the record, gaming news site often get their dates from the retail sites, which means that joystiq, IGN, etc all get their dates from gamestop, ebgames, etc. Example:http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/05/wii-blaster-incoming/ |

SPM has the best minor villain in a Mario game ever. Of course I'm talking about the fat creepy nerd chameleon boss with the mansion full of robot kitty maids and posters of various female characters from the previous PM games. And right before you actually fight him, you go through this little dating-sim-type-thingy with him and Peach. And he says "HI-TECHNOLOGICAL!" every other sentence, which reminds me of that Adventure Time cartoon with the kid who kept saying stuff like "MATHEMATICAL!" or whatever. I swear half the people on the internet fit this exact description (I kid, I kid!)

^^ True or false: You complain on message boards about games you've never played. Cybernetic Teenybopper wrote: I want to play Super Paper Mario so bad, it isn't funny. TP wasn't a problem, since it also came out on the Cube, but I have no options here. I need that game...
Yes. Yes you do. If I know you as well as I think I do, you will absolutely kill yourself luaghing at this game. Especially the first boss. And the third boss. And that's as far as I've gotten. |

Super Paper Mario looks like Epic Win, and I would get it if I had a Wii. Instead I'm stuck with a 360cube. Which isn't that bad, but...I NEEDZ WII |

Dark Grapefruit wrote: Yeah, I can see that becoming a meme on game forums really fast. On the gamewinners.com forums, about 3 or 4 years ago, there was a small meme where people would photoshop solid snake's codec from metal gear solid for ps1.
It was most often used in the "Console Combat" forum, where people would complain about the other consoles. "OMG Mario sunshin iz dum!" would be responded to with a pic of colonel yelling at snake, with the caption "You idiot! Have you even PLAYED it yet? I'm sending you back to basic training!" A really common one was "You havent played it, have you?" It made a comeback last year when people were whining about the wii/ps3/380, using scenes from every metal gear game. A mod got tired of how much it was spammed and deleted all the topics that contained it. |

Evil, evil Wikipedia, taunting my Wii-less self with a Wii featured article on my birthday.
Super Paper Mario looks awesome. It and Twilight Princess are the two games I'm gonna grab up whenever I finally get a Wii. |

I suggest playing both the wii and gamecube versions, then deciding which one you like best. EDIT: Neo Geo is confirmed for this summer. |

I think that you are saying that they are going to start adding Neo Geo games to the Virtual Console. If so, tell us where you discovered this. |

Here's the IGN article interviewing the SNK president about the NeoGeo on the Virtual Console. |

Yes, and you can use the classic controller for it. I wish more games would utilize this feature. It could easily replace the controls in many games. That date might be a placeholder, though. |

Nintendo wanted to have the classic controller be excusively for the VC, but then they realized that was stupid and they let the developers use that as a game feature. From the IGN article that someone posted earlier. |
