Hey man, spoilers. Better block that out before Acekirby comes and gets spoiled/bans you.

Oh man.
Sorry, that totally slipped my mind.

Just got Brawl. Much playing later.

I did get the chance to play it at a GameStop before I got it. It might have been because the computers were terrible, but Olimar pwned IMO. His Smash attacks are ridiculous if you get the right Pikmin.

I got the game around six hours ago, and I must say that it was definitely worth the wait. I've been mainly playing the Subspace Emissary, and I think that I'm about 33% through it. I'm also glad that Final Destination and Battlefield are unlocked right from the start; I always love seeing the little details thrown in those levels.

I also love the control customization features, but I wish that the Classic Controller could have movement mapped to the D-Pad. I tried getting used to the Wiimote + Nunchuck and Wiimote controller styles, but I just couldn't adapt to them smoothly. I think that I'll mainly play with the Classic Controller for now.

Oh, and from what I can tell, the FLUDD is absolutely useless as a move for Mario.

I'll see what my friend code for Brawl is in a bit.

Guys, I would also like to mention this nifty tool here. It makes it so you can convert the BIN files that Brawl snapshots are saved in on your SD Card to JPG files. There was an earlier version of a tool like this by a different author, I believe, but I cannot find it in my limited time.

EDIT: Heh, my friend code for the game is 1461-5879-5879. DUAL NUMBERS!

Man, I just got Brawl, and now my Wii's broken! Why is it,
that whenever I get a new game, my Wii breaks? It says it
has a disk read error(it's saying this for all my games).
Sometimes I can get it to work, but only for a limeted time.
Man, I wish the Wii could just download the game from the
disk, the way a computer would. That way, you wouldn't
have to worry about stuff like dust on the lazor. Before you
ask, I already sent in a repair form to Nintendo concerning
my problem.

So uh... who's getting their Brawl on?! I know I am.

I reserved a copy of SSBB a couple months back and picked it up just this morning. Opening day baby! And it was perfect because I got to the store right when it was opening. There was lineup and about a 20 minute wait to be had... but that was just a minor inconvenience! Brawl is siiiiick! I've been playing it for like four hours straight and I've already unlocked Ness, Falco, Luigi, Marth, etc. Haven't started the Subspace Emissary yet, 'cause right now I'm just practicing/fooling around. Soooo fun. My favorite characters to use so far have been Meta Knight, Ike and Wario. Ike because his power is off the charts, Wario because he's just fun like that and Meta Knight because he's freakin' cool.

Haven't had much luck playing just anyone online. The connection hasn't been working well and when I have got a game going it's been really laggy. So I'm looking forward to some friend matches. Add me up guys, I should be on throughout most of the day.

Brawl Friend Code: 4639-8634-1512

But oh man, it's finally out! Joy! Rapture!

^This.

My favorite new characters so far are Dedede (probably the strongest character in the game? he can KO someone at only 50% damage), Metaknight (just plain fun, plus I like his teleport move), and Ike (all his specials are really good).

Olimar is interesting but hard to use. I just wish he had a longer range. Diddy is decent, not much to say about him. Wario is pretty fun but his attack animations are really jerky, which makes him hard to get used to. Plus his upwards smash sucks. Pokemon Trainer is a good idea but not all that fun to play as.

Lucas is a Ness clone, sure, but he's pretty fun. Actually, I think I like him more then Ness, since his smash attacks are easier to connect with. Pit is good, thought he lacks any good finishing moves. I haven't had a chance to try Zero Suit Samus yet, so I can't say anything about her. All the other characters are either old or I haven't unlocked them yet.

My and Susan's FC: 3523 1712 8620

I played for about four hours and tried nearly every character. So far, I think my favourite new character is Pit; he's a total machine with his fast smashes and side-B, plus gliding which I am still getting used to. Pokemon Trainer is great too, especially Squirtle- I love rolling around in that shell. ZSSamus is fast and fluid, but I wish her whips had a little more oomph.
As for returning characters, I noticed Luigi, Zelda, and Bowser all had significant improvements to their speed and/or power. I never played as Luigi or Zelda before, but I definitely think I'm going to pick them up. Luigi's FS especially can be totally game-changing, because it has random effects from sleep to just straight-up killing everyone. Zelda's side-B has a lot more range and is faster; her smashes are more powerful, especially her up-smash. Bowser is a lot less laggy on almost all his moves, his B has more range, and his side-B is actually useful now. "Bowesrciding" can be a viable strategy. Annnnnd, in 1v1 you can kill your opponent twice with one FS. XD

That was only because Giga Bowser takes up all of dang Shadow Moses...

Anyways, I'm loving this game. Some of my friends are saying that fox and falco suck now but they are so very wrong. So far I'm loving Lucas, Squirtle, ZSS. there are a couple others but I cant list everyone.

Lucas is so different from Ness I dont consider him a clone at all. And he was a great variety of interesting moves to use. Squirtle is quick and can deal some good damage but lacks defense. ZSS in the right hands can be deadly. She can combo beautify if you know what your doing.

I know there's probably a link a like 10 pages back but does anyone know where I can download the soundtrack? I can't do torrents if that matters.

This game is GRANDIOSE. I'm already kicking butt with Samus and Ike (favorite so far), but I still haven't gotten the hang of Ice Climbers (they were my best in Melee).
I can't put the controller down! Why didn't I just leave it in the package until spring break?! I'm gonna flunk math!! *keeps playing anyway*

K added.

In fact, I added everyone

I can see how Water gun and FLUDD could be useful. It doesn't Hurt them, so if they use their special move to recover and you push them, they're screwed.

Mine: Add me.

there useful because they push people farther if they have more damage. So if you throw someone, then they come back shoot them at full charge and they'll go flyin' again.

Been playing Brawl since yesterday. Mostly VS Mode. Just started Subspace today. I started it over because Normal was far too easy.

Thoughts:

  • Ike and Dedede are the frontrunners to be my two main characters. They're just tanks and mesh perfectly with my style of Smashing. Luigi will probably make a comeback and be one of my faves again.
  • Anyone else notice Luigi is like...depressed all the time? I'd rather have woman-sounding Luigi than have this buzzkill.
  • Meta Knight is funky fresh. Pokemon trainer is really good. Squirtle is a BEAST, and the trainer sounds like Classic Ash, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
  • Haven't gotten Snake or Sonic yet.
  • Where are my bonus awards/points
  • Classic has totally lost its edge.
  • Special brawls are amazing.
  • All the different types of items are brilliant.
  • So far the Subspace is great though I lol at the attempts to be a platformer.
  • SHOW ME YA MOVES
  • Final Smashing is the greatest ever.
  • Mario's attacks seem jerky for some reason. I think they made him weaker. Especially the addition of the FLUDD. I keep trying to go for the Mario Tornado and it messes me up.
  • I had heard rumors that Shiek got nerfed. Completely untrue, she's just as good as she was in Melee.
  • Did I mention Ike and Dedede were awesome
  • I don't think I've found a stage I don't like yet.
  • Kirby is much better than he was in Melee and I am loving every second.
  • Stage creator is weird and I don't know how to do it
  • Wario's movements remind me of Game and Watch and that is not a good thing.
  • WHERE ARE MY DAMN BONUS POINTS / AWARDS??
  • Me no like Target Smash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!unnecessary exclamation points
  • The Halberd has the best music, hands down.

I'll post my code eventually and stuff.

I hate how they based Wario off his "LOL I'M SO RANDOM HAHA I FARTED" Warioware version instead of his awesome Wario Land version

Come one Nintendo, why did you make him have a completely unrelated Up B when you could have made him have a Jet hat?

And why the bite. Why would you have that and not the classic warioware charge. seriously what the heck,

edit:
