We don't yet know all of his moves. Luigi had some of the same moves but he was only a semi-clone. I'm not denying that Toon Link is at least a semi-clone. Just don't jump to conclusions.

Wait a minute...

From the videos I've seen, it looks Sakurai took no time at all with some of the bonus games. The only bonus stages are for Break the Targets (and there's only 5 original stages for it this time around)...no Board the Platforms, no Race to the Finish, and no Trophy Collecting (I forgot its actual name). Grr...while this game has tons of positives, some of its negatives are quite large, and I'm surprised that Sakurai let them happen.

Geez.. some of you guys sure do bring out the bad side of.... everything.

But, on-topic....

Ganondorf is definetly a semi-clone as he has different B-moves(Unsure as to what they are though.), as has a unique final smash.(Turning into Ganon)
As for Wolf, why the Landmaster? I'm no Star-Foz expert, but wasn't the Landmaster Tank created exsclusively for the Star-Fox team?

Another Final Destination comic!

I can't decide whether or not I should keep looking at Dojo, or see how long I can go before I get spoiled further. Decisions, decisions...

Wait, the Dojo has just become a spoiler site? Not even the Dojo itself is safe from the Brawl spoilers!

Why does the release date for Europe have to be so nonexistent? :-(

Because Sakurai doesn't like Europe.

That is a horribly offending comic to tournament players. Where do you non-tourny players get the right to make fun of us when we don't make fun of you. (I'm not talking to you specifically but tourny rule haters as a whole.)

I mean, some arguments used against us tourny players is that we 'loathe items' or we are sucking the fun and uniqueness out of the game or that advanced techniques do nothing.
We do not loathe items, and in many cases play with items during warm-up and wind-down matches. Also, playing without items does not suck fun or uniqueness away. If it did we wouldn't be able to turn items off. We have fun playing without items and on generic stages as it tests out skills and makes the win all the sweeter knowing that is was us and only us that made us win. Finally advanced techs do a lot. They don't make you godly but they can improve your game. A competitive player knows that the advanced techs can only useful in conjunction with mind games. Without mind games you can not separate from the less experienced.

We don't make you play tourny rules or even try to force them on you. You shouldn't do the same to us. Play your way, and we will play ours.

I'm sorry that I went on a rant, this is mostly in response to the comments below that comic.

What jon's going at is this: Chich thinks it's funny, and it rings true for the purist player as opposed to the tourney player. It's not an attack on you, it's just saying hey, sometimes we just want to play for fun, as opposed to by tournament rules.

Also, Chichi *is* a tournament player, ps.

Hmm...should we still post updates on the Dojo in spoiler quotes even though they're coming from the main site? I'd say that we should.

Perhaps not but as I've said plenty of times before, tourney players look at casuals as being inferior and I think that's just completely arrogant.

Well, you're kinda doing the same thing... you're angry about some tourney players for making generalizations about all casual players, so in turn you're re making a generalization about all tourney players. Doesn't seem quite right.

We've been down this road like a million times before in this thread.

But instead of doing it again I'm pretty tired tonight and responding is not worth my effort so I'm going to go ahead and say "sure whatever"

Let's get back to discussing Brawl.

Purist is a bad term as what I play is still withing the confines of the game options and thus is just as 'pure' as item play.

Quote:
It's not an attack on you

I'm aware of that. I was responding to the general population of casual smashers.

Quote:
sometimes we just want to play for fun, as opposed to by tournament rules.

If you read my post you'll see that we tourney players do this as well when we want. We enjoy both types of play. And they are both ultimately for fun.

Quote:
Perhaps not but as I've said plenty of times before, tourney players look at casuals as being inferior and I think that's just completely arrogant.

I can't vouch for specific players but as a community as a whole we do not look at new players as inferior. We are actually highly friendly and supportive. For example, specific players in my community took me under there wings when I joined and made me better. Also, even though I'm still horrible compared to others in my community they consider me a valuable role model to other players as I continue to play and lose for just because of my passion at the game. Its more arrogant to assume that we are arrogant when you don't give us a chance.

Remember, I'm not arguing that you should play tourney rules or conform to our methods of fun. I'm just trying to get the point across that what we do is just a different way the game was meant to be played and that we have fun while doing that. Its not right to judge us as hardcore and arrogant as well as bash us for our methods unless you would like to be bashed back.

Also, any tourney player that happens to see you as inferior is commonly not accepted in our community and is not respected at all. Most players will help you improve if you ask it of them. With tips and evaluations.

MY ULTIMATE POINT: Don't bash us if you don't know what we do and enjoy. We are not ruining the game nor do we force you to play our way if you happen to not like our style.
Its hard enough trying to defend our ways against people that think smash is crap/kiddie/inferior to other games. We don't want to defend against fellow smashers as well.

ONTO BRAWL TALK:
Quote:
So, good news everyone. Zamus has been confirmed to be able to start a match. Like Shiek in melee you can start as Zamus by holding a button. This time it happens to be whatever you have as shield. This makes the final mainable character count at 39.

Also, wolf is looking badass. I really want to try him out with is claws and wind based attacks.

Sweet mother of all that is pre-shrunk and cottony! I'm not trying to bash tourney players (as I am one myself), I just posted a comic I thought was amusing. Sheesh...

Anyway, just saw the opening movie for Brawl. After I was done drooling I spent the next ten minutes bashing my head on nearby objects, wondering what we must have done wrong to deserve not one, but two delays from December. Grumble...grumble...developmental issues my eye...grumble...
