I love how the Mario Player ran right into the bumper about twice in a row. I bet he got replaced with a computer opponent. Too bad we're not able to tell if we're playing online, or against robots.

EDIT:

In Fact, I bet Nintendo will purposely set a few people up on robot-only matches to save server money.

EDIT:

Holy crap I totally saw the sonic player wavedash one or twice

EDIT:

check japanese site.

Beat you to the Japanese one, Jon.

And from what I understand, only when you play against anonymous foes are they replaced by computers upon connection dropping. And I doubt they could do that at this point anyway.

And wavedashing has been removed. This was confirmed by players outright trying to do it.

I'm really looking forward to playing as Dedede. he seems like a more powerful and singular version of the Ice Climbers.

I was hoping to learn something from this video, but all I noticed was that Sandbag can be pretty worthless. Now I'm gonna watch the Japanese one.

No...Reggie Fils Aime was confirmed to not be in the game, and it should definitely not fill up your microscopic, yet horribly-blown-out-of-proportion wound. It was a lie made up by the liers who lie at the lying Wikipedia. Lie.

Hmm...seizures over these characters?

As for both videos: the action seems too slow-paced for veteran Smash Bros fans to make a decision over Wi-Fi lag (it shouldn't really apply to me since I'm not too good at this game). Despite it probably being a bit flawed for using Nintendo's 3,000,000 Mbps connection, I doubt that the lag would be too immense in this game for even a basic wireless connection.

Two more things:
1) I miss the old announcer's voice...
2) The new party ball sound effect sounds kinda creepy.

EDIT: Does the board block out invisitext now? It's not working for me... >: (

Wait, do you mean like this, or something else? It works for me.

Yeah, I meant like that. The HEX code I found through The GIMP didn't seem to be working for my post.

Hmm...testing again. That should work now; The GIMP must be having issues on my laptop again.

So--uh--that Mushroomy Kingdom stage from yesterday made me go back and play Mario Bros. I still suck at that game...

I wonder if entering warp pipes or the Warp Zone will do anything in the stages. It'd be pretty clever if Sakurai added in a reference to the Minus World in the underground stage.

They definitely wouldn't take out Captain Falcon, especially with Samurai Goroh as an Assist Trophy.

Captain Falcon is a favorite of the Smash series. He probalby just hasn't been said because he's such an obvious 'in' yet unlike the far more obvious such as Link, Pikachu and Mario he wasn't used to showcase the game itself.

EDIT: ...Trial versions of Virtual Console games.

Well, Starmen.net'll be happy.

But yeah, now it's getting pretty obvious they're out of updates.

So...instead of offering demos via the Shop Channel, they decide to stuff them inside this game? Good marketing strategy--it'll surely up the Virtual Console sales just because of this game's popularity--but it just seems...out of place? It's cool, yet it's not cool.

Unless, of course, there are loads of these games in Brawl (say--at least 25?). I just hope that most of them require being unlocked and each game has a good enough time length to try it in.

I am pretty sure that Nintendo threw this idea at Sakurai to use, and not the other way around.

All complaints about this update are made faulty by the fact that Super Metroid is the best game ever made.

Yeah, this does seem kinda out of place. Definitely not expecting something like this.

(And yeah, it probably wasn't Sakurai's idea)

On the japanese site it shows that the first Fire Emblem is one of the games. Think this confirms Marth?

Also, I just started up Melee, and instead of the normal menu music, it played a remix of Final Destination I have never heard before. What the heck?

Well lookie here, some Japanese stores now have Brawl demos! And it seems a bunch of high-level players brought their camera and you can see several good matches here. <-- Click to see some great footage of Ike, King Dedede, Kirby, Pokemon Trainer, and a little Link and Bowser. Also Smashville is the new Final Destination. ;)

Watched one of those videos... Charizard (or however it's spelled) seems a lot bigger and slower than I would've guessed.

More like Bigfoot confirmed for Brawl.

It was just a... very small blue blur. Definitely not something you need to start announcing as fact.

Today's update was basically a recap over everything within the Vault portion of the main menu. Quite a good read.

I'm still hoping for Board the Platforms to make it into the final product, though I don't think it'll happen. :(
