And that has to do with Iwata asks in what way?

No, but quoting something assumes you're going to post something related.

Today's Update: New Stage.

Quote:
It's a sidescrolling level of Super Mario Bros' Levels 1-1 and 1-2. The background is more barren now, taking on a sandy appearance, which makes it pretty neat and detailed.

There is also a new music update which sounds pretty catchy to just have playing in the background while fighting.

...Does anybody remember that time I said my favorite stage was the Frigate Orpheon?

I've changed my mind.

Even still, some people do not like every detail on the website to be revealed to them. I doubt that it applies to this Forum too much, though.

I love this update. Awesome stage, awesome music. Very unique idea, I would've never geussed something like this.

(I just hope there's a way to choose whether you want 1-1 or 1-2, instead of just random)

Wow, looks like a fun stage.. I hope you can still destroy every block and get on the top of the stage in 1-2.

I never used Pichu. He was practically useless compared to Pikachu.

And for the record, sorry I misquoted. I meant to click the Post Reply button, but somehow ended up clicking Quote instead :(

Honestly, he's a watered down clone of Pickachu. Looks and appearances do not count for awesomeness to me. It's primarily in the way they play. The truth is that he's not that good. But being able to kill someone with him is humiliation to that person because then they know they really stink if they can be beaten by Pichu.

----

So, anyways this new stage can be summarized as...gloomy. It's not the colorful Mario World I knew. It looks too realistic. I'd prefer that it'd be as colorful as that current Yoshi's Island. Well, not the exact colors, but just a more lively color style than this desert ruins, even if it's supposed to be years after Super Mario Bros.

But, the stage still looks cool. I wonder if you can enter minus world in the 1-2 stage.

The aftermath was drought, hunger, death. In a word, devastation. The fields were but tattered remains of the once lush vegetation of the Donut Plains. Where fire flowers bloomed in midsummer now were mutated piranha plants, thinned from lack of nourishment, resorting to cannibalism, desperate for survival. Where herds of Yoshis frolicked and sang now was fields of dead land. Quicksand was of no short supply. The occasional sight of a half dead Goomba struggling to place one decrepit, malnourished foot in front of the other pines from me confusing pity. For even these creatures, these once seen through the lens of fear and hate, this is unearned. Unfair. The remains of our once great nation of Toads struggle to survive, saving as much water as can be. We succumb to desert fever too frequently, fighting amongst ourselves for drink. Where has our Princess gone? What of our hero Mario? Not even the great dragon king would have subjected us to this treatment.

So much death. So much death...

Hmm...I stumbled upon this at the IGN Boards: you can listen to the entire version of the Angel Island Zone song here. This song is really awesome; it's definitely one of my favorites in the game.

Actually, that link up there may not be as reliable as you think: people can edit it at will. At people are starting to think that's false.

But hey, we can dream.

Even if that is not the actual song, it is still friggin' sweet.

IMDb is total crap as a reliable source. Don't go trusting it one bit, you'll just get your hopes up over nothing. :-|

I'm almost 100% positive that it's the same song that'll be in the game. :D

The voice actor for Krystal (from Star Fox) revealed on her website résumé that she was going to provide the character's voice in Brawl many months ago. I do not think that IMDb even shows her as one of the game's voice actors (unless it has changed in the last few hours or if I didn't notice it).

Yeah, IMDB's not a good source. Probably just added by some fan who thinks Geno will be in the game, and Ness' VA is a good choice.

Can't really argue with the second one, but I'd place him as something between Fox and Mewtwo.

As for the appearance of the Mushroomy Kingdom, the best thing to remember about it is the fact that the famous World 1-1 was last traversed by Bowser, who laid waste to it in Thousand-Year Door.

EDIT: Today's update, an online battle between Tokyo and Kyoto, apparently to show the possible lag.

...All well and good, but I'd kinda prefer something a little more... extreme. A different country, perhaps.

Also would've helped to know who was actually being played by which group.

Oh, and check the Japanese version of the site. They get a more interesting fight, with Snake, Ike, Kirby and Mario.
