In response to the discussion on the last page, I think the problem isn't that they don't want people to be replaced with computers when they drop out, but that they want to know that the player has been replaced with a computer. |

i see no problem. ...Except there's no way to tell if you're playing against a human. |

Is there any need to be able to tell? |

Maybe I'm missing something here, but isn't the point of playing a game online to test your skills against another human being somewhere out in the world, and at the end get the feeling a accomplishment knowing that you're better at it than someone else? |

Yes, but this prevents people from being retarded and dropping out if they start to lose. And if they do, it doesn't matter. |

Well, it would be nice to know if I was playing against 3 people or 3 robots. Wouldn't it be kind of silly to be playing against 3 bots online and not even know it? |

IT. DOESN'T. MATTER. Jesus Christ, you make it sound like knowing you're better at video games than someone else is some kind of creepy fetish of yours. This anonymous brawl thing involves no codes, no names, no chat. A computer can easily mimic all good strategies, so there's no problem there, and no one really wants to play about someone who uses bad strategies. Therefore it's just plain fine 'n' dandy to let the computer to take over for someone dropping out. If you must know that you're playing against real people, find some other guys who have Wiis and register their names. That way you'll have the satisfaction, I guess, of them getting accidentally disconnected and the match ending prematurely. If that floats your boat. Or you could, you know, invite some real people to play with you IRL. That way you'll even be able to SEE them suffer when you prove you're "better than someone else". Wouldn't that be great? And for the record, that facepalm was annoying and irrelevant. |

I think you miss the point of online play. |

You mean beating nine year olds at a game they've played three times while your mom yells at you from upstairs because your E-Z-Mac is ready? This thread needs to relocated to R&P the way it's going right now. |

If you want online play with real people, register some friend codes. You know, like I said in my last post, the one you obviously didn't read. |

Jesus Christ, keep on straw-maning guys. |

Jon, I think you miss the point of online play. Online play on console games with complete strangers has never been great. With XBox Live, it's kids swearing you out to oblivion and whining when they lose. With Nintendo, it's those freakin' disconnecters that quit while their down so they don't let you have the satisfaction of handing their butt to them. With Sony...uh...sorry, never played an online Sony game. Online play with friends? Now that's what it's all about. Getting your friends together, whether they may be across the neighborhood, across the state, or across the internet, playing together, and having a good time is what defines good online play. You just don't seem to get that. Oh, and Teff? I completely agree with you. EDIT: If you're too lazy to put in 12 numbers into your Wii to play online with friends, then something is wrong. REALLY. |

So what, since console online play with random people hasn't been good in the past, It shouldn't be added at all? Sure, that's fine. But having random online console play where you don't know if you're playing against a real person or a bot? That's just dumb. |

While it would indeed be a nice feature to have a little notice that you're not playing someone anymore, I'm not sure why we're having an argument over it. |

Those are the most commonly speculated characters, aren't they? I guess I understand them all, except Geno. I never understood what the big deal about Geno is for. Maybe it's because I've never played Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. |

Geno's name is cool but Mega Man is probably more recognizable so I think he has a better chance. |

If characters get in because of recognizability, explain Mr. Game and Watch. |

Because 1, he was cool, 2, he was strong, and 3, he had probably the best backstory of any Mario character ever. Lakilester sucked. The only Paper Mario characters I could want in there (less than Geno, mind you) would be Kooper and Parakarry. |

I've played tons of Game and Watch games. When I first fought him, I was like "Wow, I'm fighting a stick figure. This isn't a Nintendo Character" |

Bonsly. The Lead Weight Pokemon. ...Okay, I never played Diamond/Pearl. But I played the other three generations, I have the right to parody it. Not a bad concept for an item here. Seems like the Hammer's head from Melee in use. |

I've never played the newest Pokémon games (I stopped at Gold and Silver), but just from looking at Bonsly, would I be right in assuming that he's the baby form of Sudowoodo? |
