Fixed.
Sprites are 2d. Models are 3d.

What the heck, these are the models from Pokemon Stadium.

I can tell from my childhood.

You know, if there was a Smash Brothers with SNES-style sprites, I might buy it.

They may appear for only a few seconds, but they'll stick out like a sore thumb when they do. Plus, taking screenshots with near-textureless Pokemon in them would be pretty odd, especially next to highly-detailed models.

It probably could've been easier to import the Pokemon Battle Revolution models into this game. :P

I think the Super Smash Bros. Melee version of Entei was better...

Guys, you're only thinking these Pokemon look worse because they're put in such detailed images. These are the models from Colosseum - and from what I can see, most of the appearances of characters in Assist Trophies and such (with some exceptions - Little Mac, Mr. Wright) they're appearing in their most well-known images that people are used to. Saki's got his N64 model (I think), the Excitebikers and Advance Wars guys are in their sprite forms, and the Pokemon are from Colosseum.

I personally don't mind.

If they wanted to give them a retro feel, they should have used the GBC sprites.

These don't look retro, 9/10 people will look at them and assume they're just poor texturing.

...Now, I've never played X, but apparently he has. And he likes this song. Can't blame him for it.

Awesome song.

Now this is what I'm talking about!

Awesome song, good info about Smash Ball (Thank you, Pity Final Smash!), and...

You can turn off the Smash Ball?!?

*hallelujah chorus*

Well... I like the song. I like the fact that they put up good songs without having to include the actual game stages. Sort of like Mach Rider and Balloon Fight in Melee.

I predict tomorrow's update will be picking up items.

"Just tap the A button when the item is right next to you. Wh-what's this? It's in your hands now! How could that be?"

Alright, so...

This awesome music has to have a stage assigned to it. Which one do you think it'll be?

I can easily see it being in Final Destination, it seems that kind of music. Another possibility is one of the F-Zero stages.

No excuse for lazy rendering/developing in this day and age.

Me three! I wasn't gonna bother saying it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who assumed it. I would've been lonely. :(

9 characters' special moves and 4 Final Smashes. And hopefully a new character or two. Maybe some items and stages along the way, too.

Doesn't seem like there's enough to keep going until launch date, though.

Yes, Final Smashes are great, except when there hasn't been a new character for 6 weeks, I know that Sakurai is only supplying the info, he's not the updater of the website, so the updater needs to update a new character.
Sorry had to let it out.

To be honest, it kinda looks like he's gonna bust out some disco moves in that pic.

And now, appearing for the first time anywhere, the Duke of Disco, the Ruler of Dance, KING DEDEDE!
