I figured I'd arrange them in order of descending radness: • The Theme from DANGERESQUE II Almost every line is comic gold, perfect delivery, beautiful score, A++ • Because, It's Midnite - Limozeen Yeah they rock. Can't wait to hear "It's tough being a box" ![]() • Circles - The Kinda Long Haired Band They kind of sound like "Blue Rodeo".. "I totally found out her screen name!" • Sensitive to Bees Strong Bad was on a roll when this was recorded, great use of stereo. Marzipan getting stung reminds me of Marzipan knocking on doors with her head. ![]() • Moving Very Slowly - Taranchula TARANCHULA GOOOOOD. FIRE BAD, FIRE BAD!! • It’s like it was Meant to be Great drama riffs, fully undrownable by the comedy "I'll never stop joking! .. I mean, I will stop joking!" • These Peoples Try to Fade me – Coach Z I love the small bells in the "all up ins" album. Viva LazorCrabs! • Secwet Song *chrod* woops.. *chord* Good enough ![]() • Let's get started on doing all those awesome things I suggested (even though it gets cut off) Anyway.. (you smell like apricots..) ------ • Somebody Told Me (Now I Believe Them) Meh ![]() • Sweet Cuppin Cakes Theme Song If I could understand what they were saying more (like Eh Steve's lyrics in the first refrain?) it would be good.. a little bit too fast. Although I do lurve cowcopter's voice. :] :copter: • The Cheat is NOT DEAD The "cracks wise" lyric is awesome ![]() • EVERYBODY TO THE LIMIT (Live) The live treatment wasn't so good. New lyrics like mindgames were good, SB's postering was good, the crowd sounded too canned.. • The System is Down Goodness outweighed by irritating repetitiveness • i think i have a chance with this guy - whats her face Same as above • The Ladies in my Town all Know my Name Yeah too short • You’ve Got an Ugly and Stupid Butt Title kills it.. it's too out there. Many of the origionally advertised songs appear to have been the most difficult to pull off. They so painted themselves into a corner ![]() • TROGDOR badly mastered.. I can hear the envelope of too many of the effects. SB tries to shout louder than he really can. I liked the email version much better.. but with some good additions like "squeedly wins!" and "when burnination has forsaken the countryside" ![]() • Strong Badia National Anthem It was a tough song to begin with ![]() • Oh Yeah Yeah - Marzipan gets too repetitive. Lurve Marzipan's voice of course (Marzipan has a southern accent and those are hot ![]() • NITE MAMAS – Limozeen aaaaugh! ![]() I can't understand a word of this song and people are talking over each other and aaaaaaaugh. |

I noticed the James Hetfield-type style of MVS as well. NAPSTER BAD!!! BEER GOOD!! Anyhoo.... 1. Sensitive to Bees: This one has me laughing each time I listen to it. I love the connections between characters. And HOMESTAR APPEARS!!! 2. The Theme from Dangeresque II: Brilliant. Stick it to the man, yo. Or did I? 3. Because it's Midnite: Love the intro, love the catchy chorus, love the comical lyrics. "Wearing my tightest pants, because it's midnite!" 4. NITE MAMAS: Call me stupid, but I love the chorus on this, as well as the solo in the middle 8. 5. Moving Very Slowly: Because Metallica are...kinda good. Despite being a little touchy about file-sharing. I suppose it's technically not Metallica. It's Taranchula. With a load of solos, and fade in/fade out, I choose to like it. But Motley Crue are better. (runs.) 6. Sweet Cuppin Cakes: For the sheer cuh-RAZYness of it. I would like to know who the guy singing with Eh!Steve is in the first verse. Probably the blonde guy. Even though he wasn't around yet. 7. Circles: I like the interaction between the mouth organ guy and Strong Bad. Pretty good Emo take as well. 8. These peoples try to FADE me: Yes. It's rap. Yes. I'm not a rap person. Yes. This song rocks-rocks on. Nuff said. 9. Secwet Song: Because Homestar makes it sound so sweet. 10. Somebody told me: Because a Mex guy singing a Tex song just works. Like Chilli and beer, my friends, like Chilli and beer. 11. Like it was meant to be: I like the whole ballad. A bit short, though. 12. Trogdor: Pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the original, but this had some nice touches. 13. Everybody to the limit: See above, minus points for the fact that I'm not a fan of live versions. 14. The ladies in town all know my name: It was brilliant, but too short. 15. The Cheat is not dead: A bit repetitive at the end. Shame, too. Gospel and that song go together like wafers and wine. 16. The System is down: A bit annoying, but the "FOOTBALL!!!" bit has me laughing every time, consarn it. 17. Strongbadia National Anthem: Sorry, but the kids didn't put any effort into this. It's like they don't care. 18. Oh Yeah Yeah: Being British, I love punk. This song, though, needed lyrics. I know the whole point was to be simplistic, but this went a little overboard. 19. Let's Get Started: Don't like R&B, too short. Above the other two for improvised lyrics. 20. Ugly Butt: Not much to say, really. 21. I think I have a chance with this guy: To quote a Mr. Cowell; "that was absolutely dreadful." VERY annoying, and although I love TGS, I hate this song. Sorry. OK. There's me. You may review at will. |

"NITE MAMAS" is my personal favorite. Interestingly enough, it's because of the overlapping voice chorus that, you, Metastar, don't like. Personally, I can't get enough of it. Then it probably has to be the Techno. All of the extra stuff - the "Dance. Revolution" line, "Dancing Robots", and the explosion at the end that's so common in techno songs - that was comedy gold. Perhaps even comedy platinum. "Moving Very Slowly" is also a near-perfect parody of a lot metal songs out there. |

In my opinion, the best song on the CD is the Sweet Cuppin' Cakes Theme Song. Now if I could only find the lyrics. |

Can anyone help me find the extended version of Trogdor? Don't worry, I DO intend to buy the CD. Also, does this and/or the original version have bass on it? |

A song-by-song of the album, by me, since I'm not sure on favorites (I know I probably misquoted some lyrics. Always happens with me): Trogdor - I actually like the extended version. Maybe not as punchy and direct as the original, but the added flourishes are a nice touch. Besides, who can honestly hate the Squeedly vs. Deedly interlude? SQUEEDLY WINS! The System is Down - I enjoy the extended mix a lot more than the original, mostly due to the better samples and even more thorough mockery of techno. The "Dance revolution!" and "FOOTBALL!" samples are the absolute best. The breakdown at the end is also pretty amusing. Strong Badia National Anthem - I'm a big fan of the original, and while I do like the piano stylings of "Mr. Cheaterson," it doesn't add a whole lot to the original, though Strong Bad's nasty remarks about the kids are fun, as always. Oh Yeah, Yeah - Marzipan has a punk side?! Who'd have ever guessed? I mean, she DID dress up as Joey Ramone that one Halloween, but... I digress. The song is nice and punchy, the instruments are tight, and Missy Palmer proves herself to be a great punk grrl vocals-wise. Now if only the lyrics were a little less repetitive. Oh well. Because It's Midnite - HEART OF A LION, AND THE WINGS OF A BAT! For all my hatred of hair bands, this song is completely awesome. It manages to synthesize every horrible hair band cliche into a completely awesome 3 minute song. Quite possibly one of the best songs on the entire album. Circles - Like with Limozeen and The System is Down, we find cliches being exploited and turned into comedy gold. Pure white-boy blues here, complete with acoustic guitars and harmonicas. Manages to improve on the original song in almost every way on top of things. Hooray. Let's Get Started On Doing All Those Awesome Things I Suggested - Could've been a great soul/R&B parody, but they had to cut it short. Feh. At least we have the intro to always remember. Moving Very Slowly - Good old heavy metal. Along with the prerequisite mythology and fantasy references, we have huge, sludgy guitars and a vocalist pretty similar to James Hetfield of Metallica. Couldn't get a better parody if you tried, unless we're talking the pseudo-band Beatallica. Sweet Cuppin' Cakes Theme Song - Eh. It's a goofy TV show theme, that's true, and I do like having Bubs and Cowcopter in a song. I also like the lines about "Just-say-no-in'!" In the end, though, it just doesn't grab my interest much. Plus, they should've used the actual Eh! Steve voice at the end of the song. I Think I Have a Chance with This Guy - Lots of people love to rip on this song. While it's definitely not the best song on the album, I still have something of a soft spot for it, but that just might be my love for the Teen Girl Squad. Besides, you have to love some of the fun lyrics. It's Like It Was Meant to Be - I'm surprised they didn't have Limozeen do the parody of the rock ballad, but this works exceptionally well anyway. It does prove my suspicion that Strong Bad has a singing voice that sometimes cleaves pretty close to Tom Waits, and there's some classic lines: "I'll never stop kidding- I mean, I'll stop kidding!" NITE MAMAS - Even more 80s hair band parodying, and this one's almost better than the last one, what with the multitracked vocals and all. You can barely understand the lyrics sometimes, but geez, most songs by hair bands were almost unbelievably vapid in the first place, so it's not like you'd be missing much. Sensitive to Bees - You have to love the Strong Bad comments. "Oh, cute, CUTE, and cute! You're, like, some sort of poet laureate!" Plus, Strong Bad actually singing along at the end was priceless, as was Homestar's clueless singing along and lyrical messups. You've Got an Ugly and Stupid Butt - Eh. Not much to this one. The Buster Poindexter stylings near the end are pretty amusing, yeah, but otherwise, this song's nothing. These Peoples Try to Fade Me - I could use a dollar, I could use a couple bucks. We discover exactly why this was a "hit single." Coach Z is actually a pretty competent rapper and some of the rhymes and stuff are just classic. Have to love the oldschool stylings too, and the ending. "I can flow. I can freak. Uhh... I can freak and flow at the same time?" Plus, the Powered By the Cheat video is pretty amusing. I wish TBC would've written Hip Hop Dance in time for it to be on the CD as I like that song even more, but oh well, you can't have everything. The Ladies in Town All Know My Name - I forgot what this song sounded like. It was probably as unremarkable as most of the other songs from the original Strong Bad Sings toon, though. The Theme from DANGERESQUE II: This time, it's not Dangeresque I - Pretty good. Not really much better than it was the first time around, but still pretty fun, especially with lines like "He fights the law, and the crime, but not as much" and "Stick it to the man!" Somebody Told Me (Now I Believe Them) - You know, after parodying so many other genres so well, you'd think that they could nail country without a hitch. No such luck. Oh well. The Cheat is Not Dead - The additional lyrics are pretty cool, and the gospel singers are also a nice touch, especially the ending. They could've done a BIT more with it, but otherwise, there's not really anything to complain about. Everybody to the Limit (Live) - Aw yeah. From the Frampton Comes Alive squawkbox guitar at the beginning to the funky guitar line to the audience participation, this song is totally awesome. Manages, like Circles, to completely improve on the original in every way, and an excellent way to close the album out... OR IS IT? Secwet Song - Good ol' Homestar. You knew he had to pop up somewhere, and as always he brings a smile to my face. He's just so earnest and lovable. This song is truly, as Homestar says, "the secwetest song on the album." |

Trogdor-It gets cliche when you hear it too much. And this is bad cliche. The System is Down-Two words: Way too loud. Strongbadia National Anthem-Nope. Not very good. Those kids made it even worse. Oh Yeah Yeah-I hate it. Worst song ever. I listen to every song but this. Because it's Midnite-The chorus is catchy. I actually keep hearing it, although the CD isn't really playing. Circles-Great song. It's so hilarious! Tune is good, too. Let's Get Started-The apricots thing cracks me up. Moving Very Slowly-Three words: Repetitive. Sweet Cuppin Cakes Theme Song-One word: Pretty crappy. I just don't like it. I Think I Have a Chance With This Guy-Nope. Not good. It's Like it Was Meant to Be-I plan on singing this to my girlfriend. ...When I get one. NITE MAMAS-Same note as the other Limozeen song. (Fun Fact: In Tony Hawk's Underground, go to Vancouver and do the mission where you have to drive the limo. Read the liscense plate.) Sensitive to Bees-Great work. Strongbad makes great comments. "Them falling on you?" You've Got an Ugly and Stupid Butt-I really think this song was written about one of my friends. These People Try to Fade Me-The best rap song ever. The Ladies in Town All Know My Name-Good. "Except for this one girl. She thinks my name's Brian!" Too short. Dangeresque 2 Theme-Good. I enjoy it. Somebody Told Me-See note for Ugly Butt. The Cheat is Not Dead-My all-time favorite song. Even out of songs not on the CD. Well, I dunno. Toxic's pretty good. But still, The Cheat is Not Dead is a surefire hit. Greatest song on CD, man. It's a must-hear. Everybody to the Limit-No, no, no. TBC ruined a perfectly great song. |
