<OOC:> Haha, sorry. Okay, Remo's cab is landing, me and Noid are chasing the cab I guess, and everyone else is still in the plaza. I think. </OOC>

Vilmar, out of breath from following the hovercar, watched it land on a nearby garage. "Oi! You over there! What seems to be the problem?" he shouted to the hovercar's occupants as they stepped out.

Remo eyed Vilmar. He didn't seem hostile. "Oh, just some car trouble. Fuel tank developed a leak as I was taking off. No worries, this is my garage, see?" Remo cyberneticly commanded the garage door opener, and the doors swung over My mechabot will patch it up in no time."

Vilmar inspected Remo's cab suspicously. "Ah. And this leak just happens to look like a bullet hole, am I right? You don't have to pretend nothing happened, mistah. I'm not lookin' to hurt you or anything."

Lummox (Alien), the queen alien's advisor, was being chased by a sniper, accidentally driving his old toyota into someone's garage door he took someone by the lapels and said "Can I please be with you I'm being chased by a strange man?!"

"Well, I'd prefer not to say right now, with all the people around and whatnot. Look, meet me in the plaza if you're interested." With that, Vilmar left in the direction of the Plaza.

Remo was interested, but first he had to fix that leaky gas tank. Just then...

Remo said: "Quick, into the back room!" Remo hustled James and the stranger with the old Toyata into the back room. He cyberneticly activated the defensive systems and the security lock-down. The doors slammed shut behind the hovercab That should slow down anyone who tries to break in.

<Um, I'm in the cab. I think. Welcome Buhubs.>

James was fine with not going topside, once he had accidently got into the police system and the statute of limitations didn't run out for a couple more months. He sent the locations annonomously, then got out of the cab and looked at the newcomer.
"Hello. I'm James." Turning to Remo he said "How much do I owe you?"

Lummox finally exited remo's domain when the sniper finished circling the block. He met a fellow who was greeting him as he got out of a cab
saying "Hello my name is James" lummox introduced himself right back and said "hello james, I am lummox the queen alien's advisor"

James turned to Lummox, who was talking to him from outside the garage. "What nation's queen?"

Meanwhile, Remo activated his mechabot and got it to work fixing the leak in the fuel tank. Remo said: "Gime a repair esitmate." The bot said: "Estimate thirty minutes until repairs are complete." Remo replied: "Ok, re-fill the tank when your done." The bot replied: "Verbal command acknowledged. Will re-fill fuel tank upon completion of repair activity."

Remo turned to James, who had asked how much he owed him, and said: "The repairs to the cab are gonna come to about 150 creds... that's mostly material costs... the patch metal, the welding, would be more if I didn't have my own mehcabot. The travel meter rang up to just 20 creds since didn't really go very far."
Remo got out his portable cred transaction biometric scanner. These things had steadily replaced credsticks as the preferred method of payment over the last few years. The customer punches in his account number and PIN, and places his head in the scanner and grasps the handle on the side. The scanner reads the customers retina, fingerprints and DNA to confirm his identity, and then completes the transaction electronically. This method of security assurance had proven to be very secure and nearly impossible to spoof. It only worked on biologicals, but robots had other ways to pay for stuff. However, it was a bit of a hassle for people who were missing their original eyes, had eye implants, had undergone DNA therapy, or had had their fingerprints changed. Those people generally couldn't use one of these machines without jumping through a lot of beurocratic hoops beforehand.
Counterfiting had become such a problem that most merchants refused to accept cash or credit cards anymore. Credsticks (a form of portable electronic currency) had replaced cash and credit cards about two decades ago, and then the bioscaner was introduced which supplanted the credstick. However, cash was still legal tender (if rarely used), and credit cards still existed (but it was really the credit card account number that actually mattered now, as it was linked to your biometrics now).

<OOC: Hope that little summary of how money works in this world meets with GM approval.>

James turned away from Lummox and listend to Remo. He winced at the cost. He was an amatuer teen hacker in the big city! He had 170 credits, but that'd leave him with only 30 left. He sighed and completed the transaction, he did owe his life to Remo so he decided it wasn't a bad loss.
"Thanks Remo," he said with a smile. "I need to go find work. Hope to use your services again sometime." He walked out of the garage, and joind Lummox. "So are you going to tell me who you really are? A normal Queens advisor wouldn't admit who he was out in public ya know."

"Well," said James. "You could just buy both in a packet and install it, But that costs a pretty fair amount of creds. Three-to-five hundred usually, but thats because they throw in a lot of extra junk just to jack up the price. If you wanted I know enough about coding to do it for you, for about 60 creds." He quickly turned back too Lummox. "Forget my question, it's your buisness." Then he turned back to Remo.

<OOC: I'm sorry, who's the Captain again? You could go PM him and remind him about the game... it's the forum equivalent of "poke him with a stick to see if he's still alive" only not as fun. Oh, if he is dead, be sure to let us all know. I could use the excitement.>

Remo was conversing with James about the Mechabot upgrade <OOC See above> when his cyberware unexpectedly shut down. All he saw in his VR display was a blue screen with some error codes on it. Remo was hoping this was just because the Mechabot was repeairing the fuel tank, but he really didn't know. He'd never had to patch the fuel tank before, and he didn't know the inner workings of the software that ran his cyberware. Sure, he knew that is WAS software and that it was stored on a little chip and such, but how it actualy worked? No clue, really. It was just an implant he's bought from the BioVend Clinic to get a better job. (shoveling recyclables into a furnace or dodging explosions in a off-world war were not exactly professions one can build a retirement fund on. The former because it pays lousy, the latter because dead men don't get to retire. Desipte that, these had been Remo's ocupations (in that order) and up until he'd gotten the Cyberware he hadn't considered advanced computer skills as an asset. Now he wished he had, but maybe he could hire James to do that sort of stuff for him.

"Sure thing, cap. He looked like a pretty capable guy, if you ask me."

With that, Vilmar exited the plaza and walked up to the rusty metal door of the garage. There was a little doorbell button, but Vilmar, being Vilmar, ignored it and banged on the door. "Oi! Open up! It's me, the strange annoying guy you talked to earlier." he shouted.
