Marcus hobbled along on his crutch and sat at the head of the table. A fine place for such a brave Lizzard as he. "I'll take the biggest wild boar you've got!" Lo and behold, it was brought to him. Big, plump, and juicy, and with the classic apple in its mouth. Marcus skipped the apple and dug right in, tearing off pieces of the delicious meat with his bare claws. The concept of a "fork" is foreign to Lizzardmen, except for the large pitchfork-like weapon often used in battle. Claws, however, are a satisfactory replacement for any kind of eating utensil. Before long, bits of meat and juice were all over Marcus's arms and neck. He only stopped ever so often for a loud gulp of ale. He hadn't had a meal like this in forever, and didn't care one bit about how messy an eater he was. Marcus was hungry after that long battle--and soon enough he would be stuffed. |

Somm-1 wrote: "Fine" was all Eruantian said in responce, still holding his sword, not even looking at Aurieul.
Aurieul took this to mean "Back off" so she remained quiet the rest of the way back to the others. She then found a seat near the far end so as not to lose her appetite by observing Marcus. |

Prosper returned to find the feast in progress, and took a seat. He began to eat large healthy ammounts of food. The last time he'd had a meal like this was with the elves. Between mouthfuls of food, he asked; "What are we going to do next?" |

While everyone else was sitting down to take part in the pixies feast, Eruantian just sat at the base of another tree. He didn't even look at the food. |

Acedia had to be hungry. When was the last time she ate, anyway? Oh, right, the snake...but that didn't make it too far through her digestive tract, courtesy the new ability. At any rate, the shifter was starving, and so took a seat about the middle of the table and dug in with gusto to match Marcus's, though still with some kind of sense of manners. The only reason she got away with this by her own standards of etiquette was by shifting forms, selecting the nearest dish of meat, and quite literally wolfing it down...politely. Somehow. She was at least quieter, if not marginally neater, than the Lizzardman. Taryn floated over to Eruantian and lowered herself about two feet. "Not hungry either, hm?" she asked, conversationally, though she had a feeling he wasn't really up to talking at the moment. "I'd suggest eating something anyway. There's no guarantee of a spread like this at least until we reach White Dragon Peak, and even then that's a bit iffy. If I were you, and thus needed to eat, I would at least take some fruit or a roll or something." |

Quinn left where he had been to join the feast. "After all," he thought, "I haven't eaten in a few days, and thiers no garantee of food this nice going up the mountain." He sits down and helped himself to some roast rabbit, and some salad. He took a glass and filled it with water, making some ice with his cryokinesis as he was doing so. |

"don't worry about me" said Tem, who then rummaged through Horin's wagon, and fished out his brains. Then he simply wolfed one down."mmm... intelligent with a touch of eccentricism"<real word> |

Horin grabbed a turkey, set it on a plate, and walked over to Eruantian. "Not hungry? You should really eat." Horin said, sounding somewhat like a concerned father. |

Maxwell replied to Prosper: "Well, Thurendel has offered to "treewalk" us toward White Dragon Peak as far as the edge of the forest, which should put us less than a days walk from the mountain itself. He needs to rest and recuperate first, though, so I guess we'll camp here for the night and then get ready to be "treewalked" the next morning." Maxwell explained to the new members that they were going to White Dragon Peak to recover a lost artifact and to "see a man about a ring" but he didn't go into specifics. |

After what seemed like an eternity of gobbling, eating, gorging, pigging out and drinking, Marcus was absolutely stuffed. He'd had about one and a half roast wild boars and a good amount of cider. Licking his chops the Lizzardman leaned back in his chair and patted his full, bloated belly. He picked his many teeth with a splinter in the wood before letting out a wild BUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRP! "Oh, don't mind me. Just haven't eaten like that in a while." The Lizzard wiped his muzzle on his arm, licked the "leavings", and scoured the rest of his thick upper body for any last tiny bit of meat. "Mmm-mm!" That's good eatin!" Marcus nudged Captain Sealem, sitting first on his right from the head of the table, rather forcefully. "You get enough to eat?" |

"That's what I said, Horin," Taryn remarked, looking from the half-elf to the dwarf and back. Acedia cast a disapproving glance, coupled with a soft growl, in Marcus's direction, though her canine self wasn't really being very much more polite. Finishing the dish of meat, which was probably fowl of some kind, she ran a quick tongue over her maw, shifted forms and wiped her face with a convenient handkerchief. Then she took a drink, picked up a pear, and sat back in her seat, munching on the fruit quietly. |

As was probably expected by now, Eruantian didn't say a word or look at anyone. Edit: <OOC> In case anyone is getting frustrated, there are certain people Eruantian must have reach out to him and certain things they must ask/say/do to get his attention. He will not talk to a dwarf or a spectre about food.</OOC> Another Edit: <OOC> So help me, if Tem tries to torture Eruantian into talking again, I'll cut off one of his tentacles. </OOC> |

Andrew had ate a dinner of fruit & vegetables with some wild boar as a side dish. "White Dragon's Peak...huh" said Andrew, "That sounds interesting, I'd never thought I'd be in a place like that...but than again I'd never thought I'd see a fight with a Dragon." |

Captain Sealem replied to Marcus: "Oh, yes. Quite satisfying. I must thank our hosts later for their generous hospitality." Unlike Marcus, the elven military officer ate his food with a fork and a knife. And a spoon. And he didn't lick anything. But then, The elven table manners always were somewhat more refined than that of their lizzardmen cousins, and he was used to Marcus's penchant for consuming massive quantities of food. So, he didn't complain or even raise an eyebrow at Marcus's antics. He just calmly chewed his food and drank his cider. Maxwell replied to Andrew: "Tell me about it. My brother and I originally set out on a quest to slay a Dire Wolf, but we ended up fighting much more than that, and now we're involved is a struggle between the Drow and the Elves. Heck, even the god Tyr has somehow become involved. Plus, there's this Magic Ring that Eruntian lost: We're pretty sure it's waiting for us on White Dragon Peak, so we're going there to get it back. I mean, I'll be glad when this is all over and I can go back to being a gem merchant, but still... I'm not going to abandon my friends when they need me. Besides, those Drow are truly evil, and if they get their way nobody will be safe. I can't imagine what they'd do to Glenarbour if they get their way, but I'm sure it would be nothing good. Can't let that happen, you know, so that's why I'm out here on the frontier." |

After eating her fill, Aurieul wandered back over near where Eruantian sat. She sat with her back against the same tree, but not right next to him. "If you don't want to talk, that's fine with me. But I am curious - what happened when you were younger? When you mistook me for your mother you were trying to apologize. Something about a fire?" |

Taryn lost interest in the half-elf rather quickly and floated away again, surreptitiously snatching an apple from the table and finding a nice little pocket of solitude near the group in which to enjoy her ill-gotten gains. Acedia left the table to join her friend out of concern, having noticed that the spectre didn't even bother to roast the apple first as she normally did, simply because she could. The following conversation took place, likely out of range of all but the sharpest of ears. "Not feeling up to roasted fruit today?" Acedia asked, leaning against the nearest tree. "No. I think this forest has seen enough fire for two days. Besides, raw apples are just as tasty," the spectre shrugged, taking a large, crunchy bite from her apple. "I thought you didn't eat for sustenance," the shifter pointed out, raising an eyebrow. "Doesn't mean I can't taste anything," Taryn shot back. "Touché," Acedia countered with a slight smile. "But something is troubling you. What?" "Thought I was subtler than that. Ah, well. I just feel a bit useless at the moment is all. I only agreed to lead you to the dire wolf - that beast was slain...seems like forever ago. Was it really only yesterday? Or was it the day before? And now I'm not even needed to navigate through these woods." Taryn sighed and leaned back against the tree, though she remained hovering. "We'll find a use for you, no worries," Acedia reassured her with a smile. |

Tem simply hung back into the shadows of the forest. Things were changing around him too fast. He might have to hire someone just to read his mind and tell him what happened. However, Tem had another concern. He walked over to Michael. "say, would you mind taking a look at this?" said Tem. |

Micheal was snoring soundly, still exhausted from this day's various magical exertions. He didn't stir. |

mew4ever23 wrote: Quinn finished his meal and turned to Maxwell. Quinn asked Maxwell, "What kind of artefact are we trying to retreve?"
Maxwell said: "Well, it's a magic ring of some kind. Apparently, it's been passed down in Eruntian's family since... well... since before there was a Skarae Brae. It can freeze stuff, and it seems to have other powers as well. Part of the reason we're going to White Dragon Peak is because that's the home of a Master Talismonger. Eruntian's had nothing but trouble with this ring, and another Talismonger we met back in Targos said that this Master Talismonger should be able to fix the ring so it doesn't misbehave anymore. Unfortunately, during an encounter with the Elder-God Tyr, Eruntian's ring got teleported to White Dragon Peak... without Eruntian. So, now we have two reasons to go there." <GM's Note: For those of you that don't know, a Talismonger is a type of magic users who can create magic items that are (essentially) permanently enchanted, something that Wizards and Sorcerers cannot do. Although there are some Wizard, Cleric, and Sorcerer spells that can enchant items, all of them either expire after a fixed amount of time or they require the caster to actively sustain the spell for the entirety of it's effectiveness. The Ring in question is considered to be an Ancient Artifact because it's origin predates an event the Elves refer to as "The Great Cataclysm." > |

Taryn looked up from her conversation with Acedia and finished chewing a bite of her apple. "Hm? I know a thing or two, yes. Depends on what type of magic you're talking about, though." The spectre unbent her legs and stood before the flayer, taking another bite of her fruit. |

"Hmm, maybe you just always had that ability but didn't realize it, or maybe you weren't strong enough to do it until now. Or something." Taryn shrugged. "I've never really understood exactly how magical beings like you or I learn or discover these amazing new abilities every so often. Sorry, that's as straightforward an answer as I can provide. Ask Michael when he comes around again." |

He's talking! Progress! "Oh, well, you were hallucinating or something I guess. You thought I was your mother and you were apologizing for something," began Aurieul. "...You said I was dead. It kinda hurt my feelings." I sure hope he takes that in the lighthearted manner I meant... "So do you mind telling me what in the world you were talking about?" |
