<GM's note: Hrm, well... you do have a point. I'll say he now gained a new fighting style: Two Weapon Fighting. Means that Marcus can fight with one weapon is each hand (weapons akimbo) without the usual negative effects. It's (usually) easier to disarm someone who's only holding onto a weapon with one hand than it is to disarm someone who's holding their weapon with both hands, but Marcus is so strong and so skilled that he this aspect of two weapon fighting is minimal for him. Of course, anyone could pick up two weapons and attempt to wield them, but actually doing it in a way that's not gonna get you killed does not come naturally: It's a skill, and now Marcus has it. Oh, and as far as how much various attributes went up by: Think of it as being on an 20-point scale, with zero meaning you're an infant and 20 meaning your'e god-like. Seen in that light, a 1-point improvement is relitievly substantial.> |

<Well, that and you haven't even said what your Monk's name is yet... little early to be levelling him up. Monks generally focus on Dexterity and Wisdom. Their Chi-based powers rely on their Wisdom to function, while their Martial arts require good Dexterity to be effective.> |

Monks are proficient with club, crossbow (light or heavy), dagger, handaxe, javelin, kama, nunchaku, quarterstaff, sai, shuriken, siangham, and sling. They can also become proficient with one other martial, simple or exotic weapon for free. As they gain levels, their unarmed attacks gain in speed, skill, and effectiveness. Monks are not proficient with any armor or shields, but when unarmored they add their total Wisdom to their natural armor class (it's a "dodge" bonus). This bonus applies even against touch attacks, and even when they're caught by surprise. In addition, they gain an additional bonus to their base armour class every five levels. just a username's Monk character has been studying his craft for son long that he can dodge multiple attackers from multiple directions while simultaneously carrying out another action. Think Jackie Chan meets Bruce Lee meets Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon (and they all get their buts kicked by Chuck Noris ^_^ > |

<OOC: Interesting 'cause my character was modelled off a D&D monk (which pretty much is like the monk you described above) 'cept for alignment (he's Neutral Good) I'm guessing the description is due to the fact Monks are a complex class.> |

<OOC: Two weapons for Marcus. Interesting. I wonder if he could get some kinda whip or chain for his tail, since I don't think Marcus would ever fight with his sword in only one hand. It is a broadsword, after all.> |

<well, judging by the fact he's a lizard, his tail is used for balance, assumedly, or, if he takes after newts and chameleons, his tail is prehensile. The tail can also regrow, if he takes after newts and other lizards. This has been a overuse of 'assume' synonyms by tennessee. Thank you.> |

<OOC> I've been better, but until this morning I was too busy to post, sorry about that </OOC> Horin made if over to Marcus and started looking at the arm. "Someone get me three very straight sticks. I have to set his bone." Horin grabbed the arm at above and below the place where it twisted, straightened it out, and pushed together. The bone set with a loud *SNAP* sound. |

Eruantian opened his eyes. The first noise out of his mouth was a gasp followed by a painful shreak, due to a broken rib and a concussion. |

Eruantian's shriek startled Acedia and caused her to shriek. "I must not be an effective landing pad," she remarked, looking down at her own slender frame. "I think he's hurt. Though the tree might've done the damage." |

Thurendel the Wise stepped out of a tree. He said to Eruantian: "You are in need of healing, my friend. Try not to move. I will do what I can." He reached under his clothes and produced a golden sickle and a set of acorns. Using these as a focus for his magic, he cast a spell of healing magic which mended Eruantian's broken ribs and turned the concussion into nothing more than a mild headache. At the same time Thurendel stopped sustaining the Stoneskin spell, so the effects of that spell vanished. To Acedia and Aeuriel he said "He'll be alright now. Might be a bit dizzy for a while, but that should pass in a few minutes. Watch him for me, I must assist Horin with his patient." And then, looking up, he said to Goldwing (In Eagle): "There's a good bird. You did well. Go on, find your master." <To everyone else, it sounded as if he was making bird-calls.> Then, he ran off to where Horin was tending to Marcus. |

<OOC: The reason I didn't reveal the monk's name is because I wanted to save it for an introduction to the party> The monk gave Horin the three sticks he requested. "So how are you planning to heal him?" asked the monk. |

"Thank you. I don't think I have the energy to do it now, so I'll put it in a splint until tomorrow, then I'll cast a healing spell on him." Horin tore two strips of cloth from Marcus' now tattered and bloody shirt and wrapped them around the sticks, holding them in place. EDITED: Thanks Zephyr, I didn't get much sleep last night... |

A funny thing happened with Marcus's tail. It began to twitch slightly. The Lizzard was waking up! Marcus slowly opened his eyes and twitched his claws a bit. He couldn't move very much. "Ughhhhhhh, my head! My...everything! Everything hurts! What happened? Marcus raised up his chest to try to get a view but doing so just hurt so much. "AAAUGGGGGGGH!!! What happened? The last thing I remember is falling from the dragon..." Marcus's head plopped down and turned to the side. "Did I kill it?" |

"Oh good, you survived," Taryn remarked casually to the Lizzardman. "No, you didn't kill it, but it is dead and you're not, so I suppose you should be happy at least for that." She debated pointing out that Marcus could be bleeding internally, just to be fair, but...eh, just didn't really feel up to breaking down the walls of optimism she'd wrought. Although that might help the healers. "He may have broken a rib or ruptured something internally, though," she added, addressing Horin and Thruendel. "Can't imagine falling that far like that and coming out of it with just a broken arm." |

<I'm entering this RP as my character, Quinn Nniuq. He has psychic abilities and and unbreakable sword. If this is unacceptable, please don't hesitate to contact me.> A Male Elf Dressed in Blue runs into the area and encounters the recovering heros, sword in hand. "Is everyone alright? I heard a lot of screaming," He then notices the Great Red Dragon Laying dead upon the ground. "Whoa," he said, "You guys killed the dragon? Impressive." |

<ah, so, like Tem, only with no ethereal connection.> Tem felt another strong psionic presence nearby. Just to make sure it really was another psion, Tem telepathied, 'hello, sir. Can you respond to me like this?' to the Elf... or possibly another freakin' half-elf. |

{ Well...unbreakable weapons are a bit borderline Think about it in terms of "am I contributing or taking over?" If your character is in possession of useful skills or items /most/ of the time, then you're contributing, but if he can handle absolutely everything Sarge decides to throw at us and doesn't need any help and always has some kind of ability or weapon that is /exactly/ what we need at the time, then you're taking over and godmoding, which is generally considered bad form and is extremely annoying. It's okay to be useless sometimes, it balances the game.
Just keep that in mind so I don't have to go on a PMS-fueled rant at you later. n.n Oh and also welcome to the game, mew4ever23. >.> Real imaginative character naming, btw. } |

<GM's Note: Welcome, Mew4ever23. Be sure to read the rules on page one of this thread: Serious infractions of those rules can be consider grounds for expulsion. Also, PM me with what you have in mind for your character and we'll has out the guidlines for his psychic abilities. I suggest that you read a few pages of the thread to get a feel for what we do around here.> Thurendel replied to Taryn: "I do have just enough strength left to heal our lizzardman friend, buy I fear I will be spent after that. I will concentrate on the internal injuries...." Thurendel sang a song in some language nobody in the party understood, and as he did a shower of flower pedals covered Marcus, healing his wounds where they touched him. Soon, Marcus was feeling much better (No more internal injuries). Thurendel went pale and staggered under the fatigue. Maxwell said: "Easy now, You look like you need to lie down." One of the rescued Druids came up to Thurendel and gave him a pouch of herbs that seemed to ease his discomfort. Thurendel said: "Thank you, strangers. You saved many lives today. The Stone Circle is defiled and in ruins, but all is not lost. It will take months, but we will rebuild. Here, take this. It is all the gold we have. Out here in the forest, we have little need for gold, but I think you might have more need of it. Once I have rested, I will finish healing our comrads and then I will Treewalk you as far as I can in whatever direction you want to go, unless you want to deal with the Orcish Army. I have a feeling that the Orcs will withdraw now that the Dragon is dead: I do not believe that the Orcs being here at the same time as the Dragon was a coincidence. But for now, let us go back to the Great Oak. My brother druids and I can draw strength from it: It will help alleviate my fatiuge and allow my brothers to re-connect with the Oakfather. Besides, I'm sure the Pixies will be glad to hear that we defeated the monster. Just don't say we killed it; Any talk of death upsets the Pixies. Don't lie to them either: They can always tell when someone isn't being truthfully, and they like that even less than talk of death. Come to think of it, it might be best if you let me do the talking." |

Micheal had managed to put out most of the fires with his Create Water spell, but he became dizzy from the fatigue and fell over. Luckilly, Farnham had noticed the strain the Wizzard was putting himself through as was there to catch him when Micheal keeled over. "OK, you did good. The Druids and I can stamp out all the little fires that are left. You just rest now, Micheal." Micheal managed to mumble out: "so tired..." before he began snoring. Farnham ran out to the assembled group. When he go there he said: "Our Wizzard, Micheal, managed to stop the larger fires with his magic but he's exhausted and there still a few little fires burning. If we use blankets and dirt to smother them, we should be able to put them all out before they get out of control. Tem, can you whip us up a shovel, or maybe a bucket of sand?" <GM's Note: One of the things that Tem cannot make is water: The ethereal objects he makes have to be solid, not liquid or gaseous.> |

"sure... I think. Hey, elf! c'mere and give me a a hand!" said Tem. He created several blankets and buckets of sand. His head felt like it was on the verge of explosion with all the psionics he was doing."toss some cryokinesis at it! If you have any. Ow..." Then, instead of using telekinesis, he simply tossed the buckets of sand and blankets on the fire. "how you -ow- humans -ow- manage -ow- without -ow- tele-ow-kine-ow-sis I'll -ow- never -ow- know!" |
