"Wait, I have a weapon in my arsenal to shred those wings!" said Tem, still circle-strafing the dragon, "A moon-glaive!" Tem quickly ran into the trees and created a moon-glaive: a weapon that resembled a shield with serrated edges, and was thrown like a boomerang.<If you've played warcraft 3, it's the weapons huntresses use> Tem ran out of the trees, and tossed it into the dragon's wing, being sure to set up a mind-shield so as not to be hypmotized by the dragon. The Moon-Glaive whizzed through the air, making a large rent in the dragon's left wing. "Graaaah! You'll pay for that!" said the dragon, and swatted Tem away. However, the Glaive swung back around to return to Tem, and slashed away more of the dragon's wing.
"That too." said the dragon, and sent a torrent of flame at Tem.

Tem had now attracted the dragon's attention. Taryn took this opportunity to go see if Marcus was dead or not. She made her way quickly through the trees, deciding to stay earthbound at the moment, and found her way rapidly to the Lizzardman's prone form.

As soon as the spectre showed up, Acedia perched on her shoulder. She would've shifted back into her normal shape, except for the fact that the bird was one of the forms that didn't allow her to keep her clothes. "He's not dead, near as I can tell," Acedia chirped, ruffling her feathers and shifting from foot to foot a bit. "At least one arm's dislocated, possibly broken, so we prob'ly ought not to move 'im by hand. Can you float him?"

"I don't know if unconscious Lizzardmen count as inanimate objects, but I can try, though i don't know how easy it will be to get him to relative safety if I can float him. Maybe Tem can, if I can't."

"Tem's back?"

Taryn nodded.

"Crap" was all Tem managed to say before the Dragon blasted him. However, Tem's shield hit the brunt of the blast, but it still burned Tem's face, and knocked him back. He noticed Marcus on the ground, unconcious by the looks of it. He tried to run to Marcus, but suddenly, to him, everything stopped. Tem knew this state as a place where High Flayers, under stressed conditions, or when scared, go. A smaller, wimpier-looking version of himself came up to Tem. "Stop! Just run away!" it said
"Why?" Tem responded
"Are you blind? That scaly'll roast you alive! It already almost did!"
"What about it?"
"I'm your self-preservation and fear. RUN!"
"Why? If I die, I'll just join my family"
"big, nasty, pointy teeth hurt!"
"Reaver's are worse, and he's not scary."
"You're missing the point!"
"I don't care" Tem then promptly kicked his other self in the teeth, and everything went back to normal.<I had that scene in my head for so long.>

<GM's note: Nope, unconscious people don't count as inanimate objects. Dead people, yes; unconscious people, no.>

Meanwhile, the Maxwell and his group of weapon-weilders went to work on the downed dragon, scrambling along it's body and cutting and hacking and bashing away at it's head. They just managed to take out it's remaining eye when the dragon stirred and wobbled to it's feet, casuing everyone attacking it's head to tumble off onto the forest floor (sustaining minor cuts and bruises in the process.)

Micheal cast Modenkian's Flashing Sabre, and as soon as it was cast the Invisible Swordsman went to work attacking the dragon.

However, now the dragon was very angry, (not to mention blinded) and it began belching fire indiscriminately. The party was lucky in that nobody got blasted directly, but the trees weren't that lucky and a lot of timber was set ablaze.

Micheal said: "Ok, it can't see anymore, so it's Fear spell has no effect anymore... and I think we broke it's control of the druids too... look, they're all falling over!"

Horin said: "Then I can stop chanting me Blessings and cast some other spells..."
Horin cast Orison's Hammer, and a bright, burning, fast-moving object streaked down from the sky and crashed into the dragon with a "Boom!"

The dragon screeched in pain and said: "Foolish mortals! Do you really think you can kill me? You will Burn! Burn, do you hear me! BURN!!! AAAAAAAGgggghhhhh!" With that the dragon started to belch fire continuously, spraying it in a methodical pattern that was sure to set the whole forest on fire.

Captain Sealem said: "We've got to stop the beast, at all costs. If he sets the whole forest on fire, none of us will survive! Micheal, keep dousing us with water.. we're going in!"

Micheal replied: "I'll keep it up as long as I can! Good luck, everyone!" And stared casting Create Watter as much as he could.

Horin cast Orison's Hammer on the Dragon once more, but then he saw Goldwing circling over what must be Marcus and knew that he'd only have enough stamina for one more spell before he'd be exhausted... so he took off towards where Goldwing was.

{ I volunteer either of my characters to act as an impromptu landing pad for a foolish half-elf. o_o I think Taryn's the only one without actual bones to break and we've got enough of a problem healthwise with Marcus. Though landing on Tem might be a bit squishier, I dunno. Then again, nothing ever really happens to Acedia. Land on her if you like.

oic!Acedia: Yeah, nothing ever happens to m--wait, WHAT? O_O; }

"Oh. Great. Let's destroy more vegetation, shall we?" Taryn sighed in exasperation. "There's nothing I can do for Marcus in the way of moving him until he dies. That's a bit counterproductive, though. With any luck Horin will just come over here."

Acedia chirped and chortled and took to the air again - mostly to go save her dress from being burned, thus leaving her with no clothes at all. The medallion wouldn't last forever and she didn't want to be a wolf until they got to the next clothing shop. Upon finding the rumpled pile of fabric, she exited the bird form and redressed herself, though at this point was unsure of exactly what to do. Marcus was immobile, the forest was being rapidly set ablaze, and she possessed no skills in magic nor in weaponry that would be useful at all right now.

<OOC> The winds of story telling seem to have shifted to a direction of my favor. </OOC>

Somehow, Eruantian managed to move behind the dragon without being stomped or roasted in the process. Still under the effects of Bless, Eruantian rushed his sword towards the tail of the great beast. This would soon prove itself to be a notable mistake.

Just as Eruantian thrust half the blade of his sword into the dragon's tail, the spell wore off and his fear(and likely his common sense) returned to him. Suddenly, he realised he had nothing to contribute in this fight and he would only get himself and possibly others hurt if he didn't just stay back and let those who knew what they were doing handle it... Or rather he would have if he wasn't terrified out of his wits.

Before Eruantian could make his knees stop knocking enough to run away in a cowardly fashion, the Dragon whipped its tail in the direction it felt the sword had come from, knocking Eruantian clear off his feet and through the air at an alarming speed. The force of the blow was so immense that he was sent flying over the now-clothed Acedia's head.

After impacting midway up the tree Acedia had left her clothes next to, he then fell to the tree's base on top of her. Acedia abruptly found herself crushed under the dead weight of a half-elf, leaned against the base of a half-charred tree. And if that wasn't enough to unsettle her, Eruantian's sword had come flying as well, shiething itself into the tree mere inches above her head.

Tem mentally ran through his available items that could stop fire. 'rrrgh!' thought Tem, 'if only I had cryokinesis! Cryo! All I have is pyro. Stupid disco craze.' Then, Tem made the only thing to combat fire: several thousand ethereal water buckets. Tem tossed water on the fire telekinetically, then made the bucket disappear, and created another. The strain of making that much psi-energy and ethereal objects, even if they were short-lived. But then he realized he'd have more luck simply knocking out the dragon's brain with several high-powered psibombs. "Everyone!" said Tem, "think of nothing at all! I'm going to nuke this dragon's mind, and you'll be in at most a day-long coma if you don't think." Then, Tem sat crosslegged and brought all his thoughts, and several from the dragon, and concentrated harder than he had in a long time...

Acedia's eyes followed Eruantian's flight path, and she unconsciously made the appropriate sound effects as the poor half-elf flew and crashed. Of course, as punishment for her sheer lack of empathy, she was promptly fallen on by said half-elf. If she'd laughed, no doubt the sword would have landed a number of inches lower. This has been another round of Quick'n'Dirty Karma. Tune in next week, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

Taryn heard Tem and immediately ceased to think of anything, focusing on quite literally the word 'NOTHING' in large black serifed letters on a plain white background. Acedia hadn't heard the Flayer, but then again she wasn't thinking of very much at all either.

After getting her breath back, Acedia experimentally poked whatever part of Eruantian was nearest to her.

Suddenely a lone druid was about to swing a Staff at the Monk but the Monk grabbed the staff and then kicked the Druid in the ribs.

"...like that."

<GM's retecon: Um, all the druids aren't mind-controlled now that the Dragon is fully blinded. So.. we'll say that that particular druid you just kicked in the ribs was merely confused and thought you were evil.>

Tem scanned his friends' thoughts, noting that they all were indeed not thinking. Then, Tem let all his collected thoughts, and released an enormous flood of thought. The force of the explosion was felt in the physical realm as a giant shockwave, and a colorful aurora borealis. The last thing Tem saw was the dragon reeling in pain, but then Tem blacked out. He reemerged on the Ethereal plane, where Tem was content to wait out the headache hovering over his body.

Aurieul hadn't been thinking of anything since, oh, about the time the dragon came into view. Thanks to Horin, she hadn't passed out, but she hadn't been very useful either. She just couldn't seem to figure out what to do before someone else had already done it, and she knew she wasn't a capable enough fighter to mess with a dragon. Unlike Eruantian apparently.

Maybe I could go check on him. I think he went over by where Marcus was when he fell, and since they're not back with Marcus yet they've probably got their arms full over thataway.

So Aurieul made her way in the direction Eruantian flew and found him on top of Acedia.

"Need some assistance?"

With help from Acedia pushing, Auriuel managed to lift Eruantian enough to lay him beside Acedia instead of on top of her. She hoped she didn't make his injuries worse in the process, but she also wanted Acedia to keep breathing.

"Where are the others?"

The Psi-blast the Tem had unleashed had stunned the dragon... leaving it vulnerable in that it wasn't actively defending itself. It fell over on it's back, leaving it's belly vulnerable to attack.

The others used this opportunity to press their attack. Although they kept wounding it, the beast didn't seem to slow down. Captain Sealem managed to get to the dragon's chest and thrust his sword through, but the dragon still lived.
Finnaly Prosper got his spear in close, and with the help Maxwell and Farmhan and plunged it deep into the heart of the dragon. This was a mortal blow, and the whole forest shook from the scream the dragon let out before it stopped breathing.
Horin was now about half-way to where Marcus lay, Goldwing circling above his unconscious form.

"meh, got a facial burn, but the scar it made looks kickawesome. Get over to Marcus. He's incredibly wounded thanks to his stunt." said Tem. He walked over to the dragon, slit the head open with a knife, and subsequently popped it into his mouth.

"DaaAAH! dah dah dah!" said Tem. "doh, dait." 'uh, yeah, I shouldn't have done that.' The Dragon's brain was significantly bigger than Tem's mouth, so he created a sword, and sliced most of it off, allowing it to simply fall down his gullet.

To Tem's horror, he found that the dragon tasted positively evil... not to mention really really bad. Like turpentine bad.

<GM's Note: Everyone levels up now.
Propser is now a a full-fledged fighter (which makes him a muliclassed character, a Fighter-Rouge). He can fight decently with most common weapons.
Tem can now teleport himself and others long distances, but the destination must be in his line of sight.
Acedia has now become smarter (her Intelligence has increased) and more proficient with he amulets, allowing her to remain in her "shifted" forms longer than before and allowing her to shift from one form to another without loosing her clothes. From now on, when she shifts to Human form, he clothes magically re-appear.
Taryn has become faster and more agile. (her dexterity has increased).
Marcus has become a bit smarter. (his Intelligence has increased).
Auriuel's courage has been reinforced (her Wisdom increased).
Eruntian has become more self-confident and courageous (his Wisdom increased).
Drek has become a Expert Archer: He can now fire up to 40 arrows per minute with unerring accuracy. That's pretty good: It means that he can pull an arrow from his quiver, notch it, draw the bow, let fly, and still hit his target; all in less than two seconds! (closer to one and a half seconds, actually). >

<As for the NPCs...
Maria has regained her standing as a Palidan... she can lay-on-hands once per day to heal minor wounds, she can remove fear from one person once per day, and she can attempt to Smite Evil once per day.
Maxwell's fighting skills have improved and his strength has increased.
Farnham has become a bit faster and more accurate (his dexterity has increased) and he's now mastered his alcoholism (it's not a daily struggle for him anymore).
Captain Sealem's tactical and leadership abilities have improved. The three remaining Elven Swordsmen are now fanatically loyal to him.
Micheal didn't gain a level this time (at these higher levels, it takes a lot more experience for a Wizzard to gain a level than a Fighter or a Rouge.)

{ oic!Acedia: I keep my clothes now? THANK THE LORD! }

As soon as she was free, Acedia sat up and got to her feet, minding Eruantian's sword. "Thanks. I think everyone else is currently concerned with killing the dragon and-or possibly making sure Marcus doesn't die." At that point, the dragon died, and the sheer volume of the creature's death-scream nearly knocked Acedia over again. "I think we ought to stay here and guard the half-elf. Not like I can do much for Marcus anyway, short of transport him, and even that is a bit iffy."

Meanwhile, Taryn looked extremely uncomfortable at the moment. "I have bad news," she announced, rather weakly. "Grateful as my brethren are for us taking care of the dragon, as the druids were rather disturbing, they will no longer give us special protection in this forest. We're fair game for any and all predators that may dwell here now. This is not good."

<OOC: Marcus doesn't level up in any fighting ability? He fought a DRAGON!>

The Lizzard lay motionless on the forest floor, with no thoughts or memories running around in his mind for Tem to read. Shame, no?

Marcus's claws were limp and cold, and his arm was indeed twisted around; one could tell so even with his bulging muscles. Blood ran through his popping veins, albeit very slowly.
