After about ten minutes, enough of a path had been cleared that the wagon could get by without getting scraped. The dwarven figghter retired to the rear of the party saying: "I need a sip of water."
Meanwhile, while Maxwell stepped forward to lend a hand. Inspecting the job at the end, he said: "Alright, good job everyone. Let's hope we didn't offend the inhabitants to much. Horin, do you think you can get the wagon through?"

Prosper looked around at the rustling. It frightened him a little, but it would be more accurate to say that it intriuged him. He wondered what whatever, whoever, was making the noise looked like.

"Sure, if there is anything else you need let me know. Oh, and this might be a bit bumpy, so Eruantian needs to be held down. Don't want him thinking he's in a boat in the ocean and jumping off or anything." Horin spoke a word and the horses started moving slowly forward.

"I doubt even in his current state he would be stupid enough to try something like that," Taryn said, shaking her head slightly. "Though I do think I'll carry Acedia, just in case he does." The tall woman leaned over and gently scooped up her rodent friend, careful not to disturb her.

Aurieul positioned herself near Eruantian so if he tried anything crazy she could try to stop him. She doubted she'd be much use if he was determined though.

... a horde of giggling little pixies, all of whom where glittering with faerie dust. They were saying something in a strange lanugauge.
<GM's note: These pixies are about one to two centimeters tall (in game terms, one would say that's about half an inch) and barely a millimeter (one-sixteenth of an inch) thin. They all have semi-transparent (gossamer) wings that are about the same general length and width of their bodies. Despite their size and their wings, they look strikingly similar to what an Elf does. Some of the ones on Marcus's back appear to be male while the others appear to be female, but none of them appear to be adults: They look like children in that they do not appear to have the anatomical features characteristic of adult humanoids such as prominent breasts or facial hair. The hair on their heads is uniformly silvery blue, and they are clad in clothing much like the clothing Jorn the Brownie had been wearing when the party meet him a short time ago. The more perceptive among you will notice that the Pixies aren't actually trying to hurt Marcus. Those of you who speak Elvish (Sperietheil) can even understand what they're saying, which is: "Welcome friends! Come play with us! We like Lizzards!">

Goldwing the Eagle gave a "shriek!" and jumped into the air, frightened by the sudden materialization of the Pixies. She swooped up into a tree and watched the proceedings with a mixture of suspicion and peckishness. In her little bird-brain, she was wondering what these things might taste like, but she had not decided if she could safely call them prey.

"Pixies!" Taryn cried, leaping into the air and hovering there in the fetal position. She was visibly shaking and clutching Acedia to her chest in a manner that was very likely uncomfortable for the rat.

"Marcus calm down!! I don't think they'll hurt you, with all their giggling. Besides, they're tiny." Prosper was hoping that the lizzerdman wouldn't do something foolish and hurt one of them.

"Marcus, relax! They're just pixies! They're not going to hurt you, they just want to play!" Drek was trying hard not to laugh. He attempted to speak to them in Sperietheil.

"Excuse me, pixies, you seem to be scaring my friend."

One of them flew up to Drek and said: "Look everyone the Brownies were right! There's some humans, and some elves. Ooooohhh look! Dwarves!... Great Gaea, there's all the nice kinds of Big Folk here!"

Adrerssing Drek, the Pixie said "Hey Mister Elf-man? Is it true that Elves only eat flowers? "casue my friend C'kirn says that, but I don't believe C'kirn 'casue she's always making stuff up and besides how could you get so tall if you only even ate flowers? Isn't that silly?
"

Most of the Pixies got off Marcus and clustered around the one who was speaking to Drek. However, a little girl-Pixie got her shoe caught under one of Marcus's scales and got left behind. She immediately started crying.

Prosper could see a small man, apparently an adult Pixie, flying up behind the group of smaller Pixies. He was carrying what looked to be a little metal stick in his left hand and a folded-up tree leaf in his right. He was saying something to them, but he was too small and too far away for his voice to carry over the giggling of the smaller pixies.

<GM's Note regarding the stick: It's little, but only for a Pixie. For the rest of us, it's minuscule.>

Maxwell said to Taryn? "Uh, Taryn? Are you alright? (?) "

Prosper ran to the lizardman, saying, "Don't make any sudden moves, Marcus. You've got a pixie under a scale." Prosper gently lifted the scale underwhich the pixies shoe was, freeing the crying captive. "There you go." he said. smileing.

Delighted by her new-found savior, the little Pixie-girl stopped crying and flew up to Prosper, saying something pleasent in a language he didn't understand, and then when she saw that Prosper didn't understand, she planted a very small kiss on Prosper's cheek.

Marcus, despite his irritation at the Pixies, found himself strangely fond of them at the same time he was irritated with them. He really didn't know why...

Micheal had a concerned look on his face, but said nothing for the moment.

Taryn shook her head and curled up tighter, rising another five or six inches into the air. She kept quietly repeating the word 'pixies' over and over, staring wide-eyed at the hovering cloud of them that had convened near Drek.

"Pixies, pixies, pixies...I don't like pixies! Too sweet and nice & cute! I'm big and tough and strong!" Marcus flexed his muscles. "That's the Lizzardman way. No time for magic an' fairy dust an' all that."

The adult Pixie flew up to the children, tapping his tiny metal stick against his folded-up tree leaf. When he did this (although nobody in the group could hear any sound it might have been making) the children stopped playing and fell into a line.

The adult Pixie then flew up to Drek and said: "In the peace of the Earth-mother, I offer my apologies for the undiciplined nature of these children, sir. These children are under my care, but when they saw your party coming they couldn't contain their joy and they darted off before I could stop them. They are sometimes quicker then I am, you see. I am called Aurundel, and I presently have the honor of being the Chief Elder for this tribe. Whom do I address?"

Prosper brushed his cheek, and smiled. What nice little children! More bubbly than any he had seen in the streets of Glenarbor.
He noticed Taryn. "What's with you?" he asked with a smile. He was quite surprised, and very amused, to see a grown woman with incredible magic powers be reduced to a whimpering child by little pixie children.

Drek gave a slight bow of his head. "Greetings, Aurundel, I am Drek, ranger and Prince of Suldeneselar, and these are my friends and traveling companions." Drek then introduced the party to Aurundel. "Don't worry yourself about the children. I have a younger sister, I understand how children can be."

Horin said to Taryn. "They're only Pixies, they won't do anything to you."

"You have no idea," Taryn replied to Horin, slowly uncurling and landing once more. "The children look harmless enough, certainly. But I don't have the greatest track record with pixies...especially the ones around here."

In the process of Taryn being terrified, Acedia had woken up and now climbed up onto Taryn's shoulder and whispered something in her ear. The tall woman nodded and carried the rodent to a small hollowed-out space behind the cover of a few trees. The sound of rustling fabric was heard; a minute or so passed and then Taryn and the now-human-again Acedia reemerged. The pendant's magic was presently too weak to bother staying in the rat form any longer, and anyway Acedia's headache and dizziness had worn off by now.

Acedia brushed a bit of her dark hair out of her face and then looked briefly at Goldwing, thinking about what Michael had said. The next time we stop to rest, she thought, I shall see what I can do with this new ability.

Aurundel the Pixie replied: "A Prince of Suldeneselar? You'll have to forgive me, Prince Drek; I am not familiar with that village. Is it very far away? Still, it is an honor to receive as fine a gentleman as yourself. We were told of your coming by the Brownies, whom you apparently met earlier. They said you seemed to be of a good nature, which is surprising coming from a Brownie since they are usually very distrustfully of outsiders. Did they tell you of the Orcs who disturb our peace and of the troubles in the local Druid community?"

Marcus rubbed his claws all over himself to try to get any fairy stuff off of him.

"Ewwwwwwwww, do I still have any fairy dust on me? I need to get all washed off!" The Lizzard ran in search of a lake or pond of some kind. Rarely was there a time when he actually wanted to bathe. This was one of those times.

But Marcus soon discovered that with enough Pixie Dust, a person can float, for as he ran he leaped over a rock, so he left the ground... and didn't come back down! Unable to propel himself further (since his feet were no longer touching the ground and he didn't have any wings), Marcus now found himself magically suspended a few feet off the ground by the power of Pixie Dust.
Micheal said: "Well, there's something you don't see every day. If I remember my pithiological thamuaology, the levetation effect will wear off in a minute or so when the pixie dust fades back to astral space where it comes from. Just... uh... hang out for a minute and relax. :-| "

Marcus felt like he was suspended in water. He thrashed and doggy-paddled around above the ground.

"Ahhh! I'm floating! Get me down! Get me down! Stupid pixie dust..."

<Now would be a good time to take a look at a growing revolution.>
A High Flayer runs his hand across a map of Squiddly Man city.
"Okay, Red Team runs here, periodically setting off fireballs to entertain the guard. Alpha team, you're with me. We scale the wall, then destroy the ropes. Caplar, I need you to hit the guards with psiblasts, I need to conserve my power." he says.
"But sir," says another, "what about the Ethereal plane? Surely many guards will be set up there."
"I was getting to that. Once my team scales the tower, your group," says the High Flayer, pointing to the interrupter, "should get to the outer perimeter. Go Ether, and kill all the guards up there. Shatner will protect your bodies." At this the Flayer pets a small patch of darkness with glowing eyes on his shoulder, his pygmy Grue. "So, does everyone have their places? Then move! Tonight, this part of the city will be OURS!!!!!!"
