Horin walked back to camp. "We're back." He said, looking at the ground. He looked up at Michael, apparently talking to nothing. "What's going on?" |

Meanwhile, Drek had lead Maxwell, Farnham, Captain Sealem and Horin's wagon to the pond he'd found earlier. No dnagers presented themselves, so the four set themselves to the task of filling barrels with water. <<<Back at the camp>>> Somm-1 wrote: "Michael?" Eruantian called back "Where are you?" Micheal replied: "I'm here, I'm here. Um, I'm about a foot north of the spot you were standing on when you disappeared. I can see you... there's some sort of projected image that shows you and Aurieul, but you're dressed all formal and your surroundings look like an arctic wasteland. Are you alright?" "Eruantian, talk with Michael. I don't see him, but if we can hear him, maybe he can hear us. He may know something we don't. I'll see what I can learn from her." As she said this, Aurieul took a few steps toward the elf so they could talk. "Where did you say we are? Why aren't we cold? Do you know how we got here?" Am I asking too many questions? "Where did you say we are? Why aren't we cold? Do you know how we got here?" Am I asking too many questions? The Paladin walked up to Aurieul and said: "Why, I didn't say where we are. But since you ask, you are in a temporary pocket dimension created by My Lord Tyr for the sole purpose of having a conversation with Eruntian of Skarae Brae. The meamns your your arrival here was not explained to me, but I am assured that Tyr brought you here and Tyr will see you safely back again. You are not cold because this place is not cold. I understand your confusion: The place certainly appears as if it should be cold... but my Lord Tyr works in mysterious ways, glory to his name. As for the number and frequency of your questions, I am happy to answer any and all questions put to me. Now, let me ask you a question: Do you know of Tyr?" <GM's note: Aurieul has never heard of Tyr, and neither has Eruntian... but Micheal has.> |

"Greetings, Eruntian of Skarae Brae. I am Maria. I come from the Elisian Feilds... the afterlife of my people. I welcome you in the name of Tyr, The Even Handed; he that is The Lord of Order & Justice. This place was made as a meeting place for you by Tyr. ... After this awkward moment of silence, Eruantian explained the situation to Maria and asked "... So, do you know why the mage can see us yet we can't see him?" Maria smiled and said: "It is as my Lord Tyr has designed, but why My Lord did that or how it was done I do not know. All I know is that it is intened to be your way back to the moral realm when My Lord's deings for you to return.... wait.. I... I feel his coming... he.. he is coming.. His heralds are in this place as I speak... The time is short now... take heed: When He arrives, my visage will change and my eyes will become as the sunlight. It will be safe to gaze upon me, but you must not touch me. My Lord's power is such that no mortal can have direct contact with The Divine That Is He and live. If you touch me while My Lord is speaking through me, you will die." And then, suddenly, and with joy, she said: "He is here! Tyr is... he..... he...." As she spoke, a pair of angels; powerfully-build male winged warriors, each about 20 feet tall materialized on either side of Maria. They looked like their could break a small mountain in half just by punching it. Where their eyes should be there was only a blazing fire. Their skin was like metallic ice, and they each held an enormous two-handed sword in one hand, held in a salute. As they materialized, a slow transformation started to happen to Maria. Her face lit up like a lamp and here eyes became so bright that they were impossible to look without being blinded by the light. Her skin changed color from flesh-colored to a metalic grey (it looks like living iron). The Angels spoke, in thundering voices: "Hail, mortals. Hail, faithful Palidan Maira. Now Take Heed! Take Heed! Tyr is about to speak!" With that, the Angels held their swords high and disappeared, and Maria spoke to Eruntian in a voice not her own.... <The dramaitc conclusion... tomorwww!>

<I know... but if you read my posts carefully you'd have noyticed that I never said Eruntian is actually the Elisian Fields. To be clear (SPOLIER ALERT!) Eruntian and Auriuel are in a pocket dimension (that's a sort of quasi-universe) created by the god Tyr in order to be able to talk to Eruntian very directly without killing Eruntian in the process.(END SPOLIER)>> End Chapter two. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CHAPTER THREE: Journey To Squiddy-Man Mountain! As Acedia and Taryn came over to the place where Micheal and the rest of the group had gathered, Taryn gazed upon the visage of the Angels and of Try's Palidan... and suddenly she felt weak.. dizzy, in fact. She tried to hide it, but Aceidia immediately noticed that her friend seemed to be ill. <By the way, at this point everyone's gathered around the projection/image.. everyone's there except Maxwell, Drek, Farnham and Captain Sealem who are still filling barrels by the pond..> <<<<In the Pocket Dimension>>> Tyr spoke through the Palidan Maria: "Eruntian I am Tyr, a god. Not your personal god, but a god none the less. Your fate and mine are tied into the destiny of the world you know, and to untold numbers you do not know. We cannot change this: It is what must be. Even we gods answer to a higher power. The ring you wear holds the key to defeating the Drow and restoring balance to the Cosmic Order. The Drow you fight have now upset the Cosmic Balance by bringing an ruthless, evil, chaotic god to your world from a different universe. As this universe's appointed Lord Of Order, I cannot allow this. This is why I move against Lilith, and this is why I come to speak with you. The Drow had planned to use the boy Prosper as part of a plan to bring Lilith here, but they found another way, and so no longer seek Propser. Another group of adventurers have died trying to thwart the Drow's plans to use Lilith to wreak havok upon the surface world. They captured Lilith and bound her so she cannot act of her own will, but they all died in the process. The Drow know this, and now foolishly plan to use Dark Flayers and captured Mind Flayers to take mental control of Lillith. This plan of theirs will not work: Lilith cannot be mind-controled by any mean: If the Drow succeed they will unleash Lilith upon the world in her full power. This would be a disaster beyond disater: If unleashed like that, it would be the end of the world, for she would be utterly insane... and totally unstoppable by mortal hands. We gods would eventually defeat her, it is true, but I fear your world and mine world would see upheaval and destruction and chaos like never before. However, there is a flaw in the plans of the Drow that they are unaware of: The ring you wear can kill Lilith. That is what it was really forged to do. The powers you have accessed thus far are a facade: A ruse to hide the ring's true nature lest if fall into the hands of the Drow. You have the power to restore Balance to the Cosmic Order. Your ring has the ability, if properly used, to destroy Lilith. The Talismonger you seek is the mortal offspring of Moradin, the Dwarven god who first forged the ring. I shall hurry you and your companions to him, for Moridan has already informed his son of what must be done to ready your ring for it's work against Lillith." <GM's Note: Moradin is the chief deity in the dwarven pantheon. Horin knows quite a bit about Moridan. For example, Horin knows that Moridan is the God Of The Forge, that he is alligned with the lawfull, that he is seen as a sort of over-arching grandfather-like figure and that he is seen by his followers as a force for good in the world. Droideka can make stuff up about Moridan, if he wants... more fun that way.> |

Tyr, still speaking through the Palidan Maria, turned to Auriuel and said: "Lady Auriuel, I did not intend that you be brought here. It seems that Fate has some part for you in the grand design, but unlike Eruntian, your Fate is unknown to me, as is your reason for being here. Even I do not always understand why Fate moves as she does. All I can do I wish you well and perhaps impart a gift to you. Does your heart desire something I can give?" |
