Prosper noticed Marcus trying to get the attention of the conversers. "Hoi, Marcus, come here." he hollered. |

{ Fire ghost, eh? O-o } Meanwhile, here's what the women were doing. Taryn had gone back over to the remains of the tavern, to see if she could do anything about it. Acedia had gone with her, for lack of someone else to follow around. "I believe I can restore this building," Taryn said definitively, after examining the remains. "However, the stock is a different matter entirely. I don't think I'm able to replenish your comestibles," she said to Sam the Bartender (whom i assume is still over there, weeping over the loss of his livelihood). "At least you'll have the building, though." |

<Wait, so she can restore buildings?? I hope you don't take offense to this but isn't that a bit over powered?> Prosper looked at the lizzard man, "Wagons have scent?" he asked. "If your looking for something to track, try finding that ring we found at the logging camp, where you picked me up." Prosper hoped that this would keep Marcus from bothering the men by the outhouse. |

"And if it belongs to Eruntin...Eruanian...the Half-Elf, it must have his scent on it!"

"No not that ring, the one I found just after our first encounter with the drow. Remember?" Prosper said. He would've said that Eruantian was an elf, not a half elf, but he wasn't sure himself so he kept his mouth shut. |

"I didn't know you found a ring, Prosper. But if there's anything with a strong Eruntin scent, I can find the wagon!" |

Prosper sighed, and decided to go along. "I'm not sure if anything around here has an Eruantian scent like that. Let's see if any of the blankets we used to cover him up are still in the tent." |

"I think he's busy." Prosper grabed Marcus' arm before he could go any farther. "Let's just go in the tent. It'd be less trouble." Prosper hoped Marcus wouldn't decide to be stubborn. |

"Fine, I'll go with you." Marcus huffed. He really wanted to be helpful for once. |

Prosper breathed. "Alright." he said as he went into the tent. "Now if we cant find the blankets then I'd guess it'd be by his house, or what was his house. There they are." In the corner of the tent, waiting to be stored away with everything else, was a pile of blankets. Which one was the one was anybody's guess. Prosper picked up the top one and held it infront of Marcus. "Take a whiff." he said. |

Would that work?" |

"Yeah, sure smells like 'im...I smell it pretty far off...follow me!" Marcus started running in an odd direction, somewhere in the woods, where the Dire Wolf had been. |

Prosper wondered aloud, "How would it get outside the gates? I don't remember Eruantian taking it outside." He shrugged it off, and for lack of anything better to do, decided to follow Marcus, hopeing that Sealam didn't catch him in the process. Prosper broke into a run, holding his injured arm. |

After a fair amount of time, Marcus arrived at the Dire Wolf's remains. Only one wheel and the canvas was left of the wagon. "Darn, lost the scent. It stops right here." |

Marcus saw Prosper trying to catch up as the Lizzardboy walked back to the rest of the group, wagon wheel and canvas in claws. "I lost him. The scent stops at the Wolf's body. Alls I could find was this wheel and the top of the wagon. I hope Erun's not too mad..." |

I know it's a little late, but... there was gunpowder then. The Chinese, I know, had it, at least. And running water has been around since Roman times, in the form of the aqueduct. |

Captain Sealem said: "The loss of that wagon is most unfortunate. It means we cannot take a much food with us on our journey as we could otherwise. However, we still have Horin's wagon plus what each one of us can carry ourselves. It is well that we had already removed much of our gear from the Inn before it blew up. If everyone is ready, then let us proceed to White Dragon Peak, and thence to Squiddy Man Mountain. Prince Drek and Ms. Taryn; would you be so kind as to take point?" However, before anyone else could say anything, a section of the town wall shuddered violently and heaved up from underneath. "What in the world?" wondered Captain Sealem, aloud. The ground under the wall was heaving upwards, as if someone giant was pushing it up from underground! Then, before Sealem could give any orders, something emerged from below the ground. <It looks like this: >
Captain Sealem drew his sword: "What foul monster is this?" <This monster is called an Umber Hulk. It stands about 10 feet tall, and is quasi-insectoid. Umber-Hulks are not used to the light of day, preferring the darkness of the underground life. Their forearms and backs have tough, chitinous shells that are nearly impenetrable.> |

Marcus drew his sword as well. "I know what it is! I've battled them all the time! It's a(n) --insert name of monster here--!" |

Another one climbed out of the hole the first one had left. "Aw cripes. As if one of them wasn't trouble enough." said Maxwell. "Drek, notch an arrow. Let's see how it likes pointy things in it's eyes!" "Just so!" replied Drek. He pulled out a steel-tipped barbed arrow, notched it in his bow, and let loose. The arrow flew to the monster's face, striking the monster's eye... but the monster's eyelids were closed and the arrow simply bounced off! Drek said: "Hey, it's eyelids are closed. I don't think it can even see. Must be the light: It comes from underground, and the light up here must be too much for it. Maxwell replied: "Great, but did you see how the arrow bounced off? That thing must be armored like crazy if even it's eyelids can shrug off an arrow like that. Give it a little fire. Let's see if it burns as well as it digs." Just then, both Umber-Hulks made a very extremely loud screeching sound that hurt everyone's ears. "Augh! Some sort of sonic weapon!" cried Horin. "My ears!" Everyone's ears were ringing. Of the whole party, only Taryn and Marcus were still able to hear: Everyone else had ringing in the ears to such an extent that they couldn't hear anything else. <The Town Watch is out of action from the sonic scream weapon... they were on the wall, and were much closer to it. it's up to our heroes to save the day!> |

The more advanced parts of Suldeneselar do have Aqueducts, but even that's not commonplace. Most people get their water from a well, or from a river, lake, or stream. As for gunpowder, it just plain doesn't exist in this world. Nobody's invented it yet.> |

<OOC>Threats in or around Targos: A Morphing Drow, an army of Orcs, The Dire Wolf with Drow masters, a group of mobsters, and now Giant Insects. The whole town is going to be leveled by the time we leave it. </OOC> Eruantian was about to mention that healing time from wearing the ring might take longer than normal if he used any of his new powers, but he was apparently interrupted by this insect invasion. After nearly being brought to his knees by the sonic scream, he used his ring to blast cold air at the first bug he saw. |
