Glen scratched his head for a moment and wondered what to do, the tough was hardworking and if anybody deserved a break it probably would've been him. However, taxes were taxes (and flexible tax service wouldn't come for another few centuries) and they had to be paid, Glen was more partial to compromise so he did a more sensible thing. "I want you to present your case in front of our head-taxman, why you should be given a break from taxes, if you lose you either pay taxes or we take things from your house that look remotely intresting, if you win you're given a break until a few months later. But just so you don't think this is any easy pass out, I'm giving your pitchfork to reposession."
Glen immediately snatched the pitchfork and ran like heck, he sped along the grass and looked behind him to see if the burly man was chasing him.

Taryn told me some things about alternate dimensions and parallel universes and things like that once - it was all terribly complicated." Maybe she's giving Eruantian too much credit, but the alternative is to just dismiss him as crazy and leave it at that. "Do you feel well enough to go to the Talismonger's house? Are you able to stand?"

Prosper located and picked up the crystal ball, his arm complaining loudly at being forced to do so much work. He placed it back on the table, and waited for the argument to be resolved.

He was, shouting: "Wait! Where do I find the head-taxman?"

"You can find him in a murky bog!" Glen shouted "Just go forward from your house 50 paces and then take a left, then you'll see a dark space and whithin all that swampy waste is the office of head-taxman", then he ran off, looking at the repossesion organization, and then looking at an innocent cow, he looked at the pitchfork. And started heading toward the cow and killed it, he brought back meat to his home and lay rest for a while, then it was morning. He got out the door and the pitchfork was still in his house.

<Which is odd, because it seems the forum ate the post where Sehran insisted on continuing on and Emily insisted that he o to bed. Well, Sehran is off to bed now, and Emily has the Crystal Ball.>
Emily held up the Crystal Ball and handed it to Micheal. "Here, see if you can complete the communication."
Micheal took the ball and put it on the table in the center of the room. "Well, I've never used one of these before, but I'll give it a shot."

After about five minutes Micheal said: "Ok, I think I've got the hang of it. Lets see... Sehran left a connection on the other end. All I have to do is comlete the connection and..."
An immage swam into veiw on the surface of the Crystal Ball. It was a old, grey-haired, elf, possibly a little younger than Sehran. He said: "What? Where is Sehran. Who are you? What's going on here?" Micheal said: "My apologies sir, but Sehran was taken ill mid-way though establishing this line of communication, and I have taken it up in his stead. I am Micheal, a Mage of Skarae Brae."
The Elf responded: "What's that? Taken ill, has he? At his age, any illness is serious. What happened, exactly."
Micheal responded: "We think it was a heart attack. It's under control; the local Herbalist and a Dwarven healer we know have both attended to Sehran and he's now recovering in his bedroom. Emily is looking to his needs as we speak."
"Ah, yes, his daughter-in-law. Well, I would speak with her. Bring the ball to here and we shall converse."

Micheal did as asked, and a few minutes later Emily was talking with the Elf in the crystal ball.

<OOC>I am about to put Acedia's sentences from Zepher Song's previous post and Eruantian's replies in this post in a blender. With some milk and a few cherries this might make a good RPG Smoothy.</OOC>

At that point, Eruantian was begining to thaw out a bit and had recalled a few mind-over-matter techniques he had learned over the past two non-existant decades to reduce shivering and teeth chattering.
Acedia wrote:
"If you think it happened, then it happened.
"I sup-pose th-that m-makes sense" Eruantian nostalgicly stated.
Acedia wrote:
Maybe not in this particular world, but it had to have happened /somewhere,/ in some alternate world or something.
Eruantian looked up at Acedia with the utmost befuddlement and asked "... A what?"
Acedia wrote:
I don't know. Taryn told me some things about alternate dimensions and parallel universes and things like that once - it was all terribly complicated."
The Zephyr Song wrote:
Maybe she's giving Eruantian too much credit, but the alternative is to just dismiss him as crazy and leave it at that.
"Only a dr-dream world I would say" Eruantian replied.
Acedia wrote:
"Do you feel well enough to go to the Talismonger's house?"
"If it's w-warmer there" he half-jokingly replied.
Acedia wrote:
Are you able to stand?"
Eruantian thought he could feel his feet again, so he moved towards the table and used it to brace himself as he attempted to stand. His legs were still a bit numb, so ballancing himself required a bit of effort. It was somewhat reminiscent of his attempts to walk properly in armor prior to his confrontation with the Dire Wolf.

Marcus was glad the taxman didn't come after him. He had quite a bit in the Bag of Holding, an item which was known only as a rumor between taxmen.

Glen came back out of the bank and got what he needed, he looked at his to-do list and saw that he needed to tax randomly, he looked for a person who some say goes by the name of "marcus", he headed where ever he was.

{Say Marcus where are you?}

<it had rolled onto the floor, but then you picked it up. And then there was a chain of events which ended with Emily having the ball>

After a brief conversation Emily handed the ball back to Micheal. Micheal explained about Eruntian's ring, and the Elf on the other end of the link agreed to let the group come to the mountain, but he couldn't provide any transportation. He did tell them thqat he'd get them up the mouintain once they got to it, though. Then, he terminated the link and the crystal ball went dead.

"Alright" said Maxwell. "We leave for that mountain before dusk. Emily, thank Sehran for us. We'd better get going. I've got a letter to write for Marcus. Hope he didn't forget about that."

[OOC: Marcus is with everyone else. He's just off to the side since all the attention is on the guy with the heart attack. And he's a Lizzardman, so he doesn't actually pay taxes. He just doesn't like anyone around his money.]

"No, I didn't forget about it," Marcus said, overhearing Maxwell. "I just need to see if the Captain has done the letter yet."

Glen Shishman walked over to his loom shop [remember?] and cleaned up the mess that had gathered around, then he noticed an ad that said "Come one, come all to the spirit enlightenment center, located at the top of any mountain. So just come to any mountain if you wish to have your spirit enlightened.". Then he noticed that the adress was yet to be taxed, he planned a trip to the mountains.

The party made it's way back to the inn to collect it's gear. Maxwell settled up with Sam the bartender, and then sat down at table with some paper and a quill pen and some ink. He started writing a letter.

"I'll go ask the Captain if he wrote mine yet!" And with that, Marcus was off running in said Elf's direction.

"That is not necesary, I am happy to do it." Horin listened to Emily, and agreed. "Best to wait a day or two."

Glen packed supplies and then headed down the pavement to the path to the bottom of the mountain, he took a pick axe and pulled himself up. It was TAXING TIME

Prosper once again packed his meger belongings. His spear, the clothes on his back and his gifts from the elven Emporor were about all that he had, plus the 20 gold coins he now found himself with. He had to remember to go buy something before they left. But first he found Farnaham and asked; "So where are we going again?"

"Well, we need to get to White Dragon Peak to get Eruntian the help he needs to fix his magic ring. So, Maxwell is renting us some horses now, and we'll ride there over the next few days."

"But aren't we supposed to be going to squidily man mountain too?" Prosper said. "And what about the drow? Shouldn't someone follow them?" Prosper was thinking that it would make more sense if they split the group up into two seperate parties. After all, they did have 10, maybe more, people.
