Marcus ran around the shop throwing every shiny thing around his neck. Necklaces...talismans...medallions...shiny things were the Lizzardman's candy. "Ooooo....can I buy all of these?" |

After a while, the door to the back room opened and out walked an Elf with a long white beard and a set of Gnomish eyeglasses perched upon his nose. This elderly elf looked around the room and said: "EH? What's all this?" Sharus got up and said to the old man: "These are the people who wanted to ask for some help with a misbehaving magic ring, Grandfather." The old man said "Oh, oh yes. Yes, now I remember. Heh. You'll have to excuse me, sometimes my memory isn't that good anymore. Pleased to meet you all. I'm Sehran and I'm 300 years old. I may not get around as fast as I used to, but I reckon there's not a Talismonger in all of the land who knows more about magic rings than I do. Now, who's got this ring and what's it doing that makes you think it's not working right?" |

"Horin, should we go tell Maxwell or Farnaham?" he said. <OOC> Since I'm at my G-Ma's house, I can post, although I can't guarantee that I can continue posting</OOC> "Aye, you stay here, if he starts moving, yell as loud as you can, but don't leave, and don't let him if he wakes up." Horin ran into the town, and found the Talismongers shop, and said "Eruantians ring is acting up, and he changed his expression. His eyes are open, but he does not see." And added "Come quickly." And left the shop, running, hoping that they would follow. |

Maxwell said: "Sehran, our friend has a magic ring that makes cold flame, but ever since the Dire Wolf's stare paralised him, he hasn't been able to wake up and the ring is behaving strangely. Could you come and have a look at the ring?" Sehran replied: "Hrm, interesting. Yes, I'll come look at the ring. Grandson, bring my bag of Glifings tools and my Walking Stick. We're closing up shop and going on a bit of an excursion, you and I." Sharus replied: "Yes, Grandfather" and headed into the back room, emerging a few minutes later with a black leather bag and a oddly-shaped long gold-tiped cane. Handing the cane to his grandfather and carrying the bag himself, Sharus said" Here's you Walking Stick, grandfather." Sehran nodded, grasped the stick in both hands, and muttered some arcane intonement. The stick glowed breifly and then magicly sprouted legs and a seat. Sehran climbed onto the seat, and the "waling stick" walked to the front door with Sehran riding it. Maxwell said: "Wow, you weren't kidding when you said it was a Walking Stick, huh?" Sehran said: "Just something I carved for myself so I can get around faster than I could walk myself. Serves me well anough, yes? Now, lead on to that friend of yours with the misbehaving ring." And so the party, with Sharus and Sehran in tow, made their way back to Eruntian and encountering Horin on the way. |

Marcus joined the party, playing with the hundreds of shiny chains and necklaces from the shop. No one seemed to notice all the "bling" he had on. |

As Marcus left the shop, all the "bling" he had on suddenly vanished in a puff of smoke. "Ah, I see you've encountered our anti-theft system, my young Lizzardman friend." Said Sehran. "I'm going to assume that you simply forgot to pay for them. Everything in the store is warded against removal beofre payment. No harm, no foul." |

Marcus's face instantly turned from that of a happy Lizzardboy to that of a sad little puppy. "But...but...but...I wasn't going to steal them! They're just so shiny!" Marcus fell to his knees and sobbed. "And it's my birthday, too!" |

Marcus proudly stood up. "Of course it is! I can feel it in my scales. Today I'm fifteen. That means it's only one more year 'til I'm a grown-up Lizzardman!" |

Acedia hurried out of the shop after everyone, having been engrossed in a catalogue or something like that. Taryn brought up the rear, visibly apprehensive about anything having to do with that ring. But, she had to admit, this lot was providing her with the most entertainment she'd found in a long, long time. { Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it }

<GM's Holiday Message: Hey, It's Christmas Day here so I'd just like to say: rest and prepare yourself for Boxing Day. Oh, and Merry Christmas. We now return you to Operation Storyteller, already in progress.> The party arrives at Eruntian's tent to find that Prosper was up and watching over Eruntian. Introductions were made, and Sehran examined the ring with his bag of tools. "Interesting" he said. "Most unusual. It seems as if this ring has some sort of built-in defence mechanism, but it's not working right. The one who enchanted this ring did so for a specific individual, and the defence mechanism was tied to that person's aura. The current wearer is not the original wearer, however, and so his aura is out of alignment with the workings of the ring. It's keeping him in a sort of 'torpor' as it tries to access his aura. It's stuck in that routine and it won't exit it until I can re-align the ring to this man's aura. Let me see here..." Sehran started to manipulate the ring in some strange way that none of the group understood, but when he was done he stood up and said: "Hrm, I believe I was successful, but time will tell. The ring has started to shift it's alignment toward the aura of this man here. If everything goes right, it should be properly aligned in a matter of minutes. That should be enough to draw him out of his topor, but I don't know how long it will take for him to wake up after that. I must say, this ring seems to be of an ancient design. It's method of enchantment involved certain methods and workings that I have only seen in truly ancient artifacts. I'd hazard to guess that this ring was made by The Ancient Ones, before the Great Cataclysm. Most extraordinary!" |

Eruantian awoke sooner than the Talismonger had predicted and did not seem happy to be awake. Before anyone noticed he was out of the trance, he undid the restraint on his ring hand and blasted the first figure he saw with an arctic wind that came forth from his glowing hand. Before anyone could respond, he stood up beside the table and pointed his index finger at various people in the tent as one might point a weapon at a potential enemy to make him/her/it think twice about making any sudden movements. Eruantian looked around at his surroundings with bewilderment and inquired "Where am I?" There seemed to be a change in Eruantian's eyes, other than that they where still glowing blue for some reason. This was not the same Eruantian that had fumbled around in a vain attempt to walk properly in armor and didn't know how to use a sword. Eruantian's once shy, unsure, and somewhat naive demeanor had been replaced by the confident stance and callous attitude of one hardened by battle, possibly numerous battles. |

Taryn had been severely frightened by the icy blast, and was currently curled up and shaking violently on top of Acedia's head, in the form of a ferret. Taryn /is/ a spectre, after all; they are able to change their appearance, and occasionally this will include animal forms. This is simply the first time such an ability has made itself known to the party. Attempting to remove the ferret from her head, Acedia knew, would only end in a severely scratched scalp and arms, and so she just put up with her new hat until Taryn snapped out of it. "Targos," Acedia said. "You're in a tent, in an encampment right next to the town of Targos. You participated sorta in a battle against some Drow and a Dire Wolf." |

"Targos?" Eruantian questioned himself as though trying to recall something "Dire Wolf?... Who are you and what concern of yours is... wait..." He paused as if he had a seen a ghost or something then said "... Ace... Ace... Acedia?... My word, you haven't aged a day... and after so many years..." The look of distrust on his face had been replaced by astonishment. "... Maxwell?..." he continued "... Farnham?... Drek?... Micheal?..." He lowered his hand and began to sound less distrustful, but still seemed displaced from the world around him. "If I had not seen it with my own eyes, I would not believe it" he stated "You're all here. I'm here. But how can that be?" |

"That's right, you've only been out for a few hours," chirped ferret!Taryn from her perch. "I carried you here myself." Taryn felt it was also worth mentioning that Eruantian could stand to lose a few pounds, but held her tongue, only because of the ring. This marks the first time in many, many years that she's seriously feared a tangible object. Hmm. "That must be a serious power the ring holds, if it could make you age twenty years in your mind in a matter of hours," Acedia said after a short silence. "All of the cases I've seen in my time - which, granted, are a rather insignificant number - have had the 'victim,' shall we say, believe that he had traveled by some means to another time period, or indeed another world, only to later be sent back to his own proper epoch, where the whole experience becomes a fantastic dream from which he awakes, surrounded by family and friends." "How oddly specific," Taryn remarked, raising her serpentine body slightly to look down at Acedia's face. |

Prosper looked at Taryn. She could change herself? He felt fear creep into him. She had much power, and an impatiant mind to top it off. Dangerause bedfellows. He turned his attention to Eruantian. "What happened Eruantian?" Prosper said. |
