"Stew, eh?" Hal said, as he dropped his Halberd and took a seat next to Marcus.

Hal stuck his hand into the middle of the pot and scooped some out.

"Mmm...This is delicious!" Hal said.

"So, Marcus, Tem, where you from?"

Just a minute or so after the dwarven cleric made his diagnosis, the runes and gem of Eruantian's ring began to glow, like his hand, but much, much brighter. As it did this, Eruantian began to scream. None of those present in or around the tent had ever before heard such an ear-piercing, mind-blowing scream of pure pain and agony, with the possible exception of Taryn.

But after about half a minute, the same blue glow of his ring moved on to his blue eyes, and the screaming was suddenly silenced. Instead of agony, his face slowly began to show peaceful content and his labored breathing was made much easier. He was still just as unresponsive to stimuli, though now it seemed whatever trauma he was experiencing had been driven out.

{ Well, yes, there is that. }

Taryn let go of Eruantian's shoulders when the ring began to glow brighter. So far that thing's been a small harbinger of doom for her. And then he started to scream, which made Taryn wince. Acedia immediately stopped paying attention to..um, I don't know, a bee or something and started for the source of the horrible noise. And she arrived by the tent just after Eruantian stopped screaming. "What happened?" she asked, quite understandably confused.

"He woke up," explained Taryn simply, gesturing at the now-blissed-out form of Eruantian.

"..Oh."

<What Eruantian is experiencing is unusual for someone recovering from a paralysing effect. Usually, people just regain their normal movement without much discomfort. There's not usually any prolonged sleeping involved. Horin should be somewhat concerned now because the symptoms that Eruantian is displaying do not fit any condition he's previously encountered.
Meanwhile, Maxwell was STILL waiting for Micheal and Hal to answer him about if they could cast a spell that could subdue or otherwise capture the remaining Drow soldiers.>

<OOC> Sorry, I'll respond and walk away</OOC>

"Not too long, any time now, since the Wolf is dead." Horin said and walked towards the midle of the camp, saying over his shoulder. "I'm going to eat, and make sure that lizzardman hasn't destroyed the cooking area. Taryn, watch him, if ANYTHING happens, come yelling for me." As Horin was walking away, he heard a scream from his tent. "Better go back, see if he woke up." And headed back to his tent...

<OOC>You seem to have missed the part when Sarge said that Horin should be a bit concerned. Eruantian should have snapped out of it already. Also, Eruantian's ring and eyes glowing are not normal symptoms. You can't even be sure that it's still the wolf's doing at this point. </OOC>

Prosper shuddered a bit and then went back to sleep. The color was much more present in his cheeks now, but his left upper arm was still a mutilated red splotch of scars and dried blood. But for now he slept in a peaceful dream, unnaware of the pain.

<OOC: Lets pretend this was a while ago>

Michael snuck up to the Drow, when they were just about to realise his presence he used Cone of Cold, freezing the remaining drow. "That should keep some of them alive" said Michael.

After finished with the Drow, Michael decided to take a breather as he thought there is going to be a long journey ahead.

Author:  Sarge [ Wed Dec 06, 2006 4:46 am ]
Post subject:

The Drow live underground, mostly, and as such they aren't used to the sort of cold that blast of Cone Of Cold can produce. The ones that didn't die were in too much pain to put up any sort of resistance, so the soildiers of Lord Dunmoor had an easy time rounding them up. They tied them up in ropes, bound them with chains and locks and heavy iron bars, and put them in the stockade under heavy guard.
Lord Dunmoor thanked Maxwell and his party for their assistance, and gave each member of the party 10 Gold Peices each as payment for services rendered to the crown.

As Micheal returned to the town to take his breather, he nticed something odd about the Manasphere over by the healer's tents. It was some sort of disturbance there, as if something was pumping out power at a tremendous rate. It wasn't a spell being cast, there was no pattern to the energy. It was just wild, uncontrolled energy mana... and then suddenly it stopped... and reversed! Now, instead of pumping energy out, it was sucking it up, literally draining the whole observable mannafeild of all it's energy in the blink of an eye. Micheal felt odd, as his link to the power had been cut, and for the first time in years he was without a link to the Magic... but this lasted but a fleeting moment and the disturbance went back to pumping out power. Micheal knew he must investigate this unnatural phenomenon. He walked toward the centre of the disturbance, and found that it was coming from Eruantians magic ring!
Imediately, Micheal knew that he must consult a Talismonger to find out what sort of enchantment was operating on this ring and why it was behaving so oddly now. Luckily, there was a Talismonger shop in town, right next to the Herbalist's shop. Unfortunately, it seemed to be boarded up. Micheal stood, peering through a crack in between the boards on a window, but there' didn't seem to be anyone inside. He wondered what had happened to the Talismonger. Had he been drafted into the Town Watch, perhaps?

<Talismongers are shopkeepers who create, catalogue, buy, sell and generally control the trade in magic items. Unlike Mages, Talismongers don't cast spells. Their magic rests in their ability to permanently enchant and object with magic powers. They're also good at examining existing magic items and determining just how such an item works and what it does. They don't do any of this for free.. well not usually anyways.>

As Horin got back to his tent, he noticed three things: One, the half-elf had changed, he was peaceful now instead of shocked, looking as if he was asleep. Third, the boy name Prosper had moved. Fourth, the hammer that was under neath his bed was moving almost magnetically, along with the breathing of the elf. Horin walked over and opened the eyelids of the half-elf. They glowed blue, matching the ring on his hand perfectly. Horin walked over to his desk and picked up a small box, that had several rings in it, none of which were magical, but all of which looked valuable and dumped the rings into a drawer. Horin also grabbed a leather glove, and quickly grabbed the ring, tugged, hoping that it might ease the spell, but the ring would not come off. Horin threw the glove off, watching it burst into blue flame, and disappear. The ring it would need a counter-spell, but to counter the spell, he would have to know what spell was causing it to do what it was now, or the counter-spell might have no effect at all. Horin picked the rings back up, and put them back in the box, turned a dial on the top with a clicking noise, and put it back in the drawer.

"Strange it wouldn't come off"
