Moments after decrying U.S. failure to "blow the hell out of" Fallujah, O'Reilly denounced "macho" approaches to the war, and said, "I'm an intellectual"

More like "Hey look, I'm a moron"

Of course he's a moron. Even worse, he's making conservatives like myself look like we have no clue about what's going on in the world.

Like Michael Moore, on the opposite side of the spectrum, might have some good points every now and then, but he quickly takes them too far, using hyperbole, half truthes, one-sided arguments, and wild accusations to "prove" his points.

His own little world. He basically thinks that he's God's gift to the world and that he can run the country.

Has anyone ever seen V for Vendetta? He's pretty much the talk show host from that movie.

Ugh. I normally try to stay out of things political - I have little or no expertise so I don't like to try and give an opinion - but things like this really are remarkable.

Just so you'll all know, while these are representative of most of O'Reilly, he IS right (and civil) from time to time (although, "time to time" seems to mean "pretty much never").

He'sa talk show host on (kel suprise!) Fox News and on the associated Rupert Murdock-controlled radio network.

If you've seen the OUTFOXED documentary you know all about him. Look for it on ISOhunt, there a DVD of it up there.

I'm sorry to have to say it, but I really don't like him. "Fallujah shouldn't exist?" What is that about, honestly? I have watched his show a couple of times and it would be hilarious if he weren't so influential.
Also, I am a registered Independent voter, and there are plenty of liberals and conservatives I find annoying.

Look my problem isnt the bias-its the fact FOX has the Motto "Fair and Balanced".Dont pretend you are not bias.
Here are example of some of the things that are so "Fair and Balanced" and also show he is wrong alot:

Fox News isn't complete crap, though.

I woulda rather seen Bill O'Reilly handle this psycho.

Also, if Fred Phelps hates O'Reilly, how bad can he really be?
The language might be a little rough for some.

Geez, even when Fox bashes the right-wing looneys it's over the top with lots of childish yelling. They call this journalisim? It's like a side show.

I won't disagree with you there, but at least they bash both sides. When they mean balanced, they mean 500 tons of wrong on both sides. :-)

I would love to see old B' O' react to this.
Or to a busload of flamingly Gay men who invade his studio and refuse to leave untill Bill sings some showtunes with them. Either one would be most very amusing.

Ugh. I hate O'Rly. I'm a liberal, and while I can handle some thoughtful, moderate conservative discussion, O'Rly takes it way too far to the right for me to handle.

Plus he tried to attack Jon Stewart for "Waging a war on Christmas".

That's some serious stupidity. That's like trying to slam Krusty the Klown for throwing a pie at someone you like....or like the time when Jerry Falwell tried to sue Hustler Magazine (at least I THINK it was Hustler) for printing that political cartoon about him. Do these people have no sense of humor?

Nope, that is to say they have humor, until it's directed at them. It's just like the old saying, "It's always funny until it happens to you, then it's a disaster."

I don't know if "moron" is the right word here.

He's got his own radio and TV show that obviously get good ratings and has for years.

A moron would have screwed it up and been unemployed by now.

Intelegence isn't something that aplies across all feilds of endeavour. One can be very buisness-smart and at the same time be completely useless in another feild of cognition. I think the same is true for O'Reily. He is, as you say, astute enough in the entertainment industry (and lets be clear: He work in the entertainment industry, not the news industry) to have remained on the air in both radio and TV for a number of years. At the same time, he doesn't seem to be able to grasp the nuanced vagrities of politics; It's all black & white to him.
Specifically, anything he says is necessarily correct (He never acknowledges that he was wrong, even when it's patently obvious that he was wrong), anyone who he considers to be in disagreement with him needs "to shut up." If I were a psycologist, I'd say he's a got serious, complex, self-image issues and self-respect issues. You're a threat to his self-identity if you disagree with him, so he lashes out at you and tries to bully you into ending your attack upon his "I'm always right" mentality. Or he realizes he's not gonna win so he cuts your mic, shuts down the interview, takes his ball and goes home. That's not what I would call emotionally mature. Three year olds do that, not full-grown men. He may be intellectually functional, but he's emotionally retarded.

I think Bill O'Reily is annoying and a jerk, but I still do watch Fox News (but it's not the only news network I watch.Or trust). I also don't think there is such a thing as a COMPLETLEY Fair and Balanced Network, newspaper, or anything.

If you're attempting to move the goalposts and change the playing feild so that Fox News looks more ethical it's methods than they should, nice try but it won't work.
It may be true that no one can be totaly fair and/or balanced becasue everyone has their biases, but that's why journalism has codes of ethics. Nothing Fox News does is ethical if you were to go by the ethical guidelines that conventional journalism has established over the centuries. They're a throwback to the "yellow journalism" that was rampant in the USA at several point in it's history. Quite frankly, the National Enquirer does a better job of being fair and balanced than Fox News does.

If you want to see actual ethics-in-journalism at work, go watch the BBC, the CBC, or any other network that hasn't been influenced by what Fox News does. I don't watch American television becasue I don't enjoy being lied to.
You see, I have the amazing ability to be able to tell when someone is trying to sell me a wagon of manure by calling in a bed of roses. I use this ability to steer myself away of media outlets that are full of manure.

Sadly, some people are easy targets for con artist, and there's no bigger con that what BushCo did to you guys with the help of Rupert Murdoch and his fine, fine, fine chain of media outlets. It's the most massive case of fraud ever perpetrated. Ever. Too late now, BushCo holds all the cards. You waved your democracy away when you were in love with your Iraq war, and BushCo will win steal the next election just like they stole their first election. Your vote doesn't matter because they don't count votes anymore: They rigged the voting system. Fox News is just there as a nice distraction for the american voter to keep you ignorant and docile. If you knew what was really going on you might riot in the streets, but so long as you're kept sheeple, it's so much easier to keep control for BushCo.
