In 2008, I'm really only concerned with whether or not Jeb Bush and/or Bill Frist run. I still think Bill Frist is the Antichrist, and we don't need another Bush.
Bush couldn't run if he wanted to. His brother has screwed things up so badly, that it is nearly impossible for him to have a chance. Which is sad because out of the Bush Family, he is probably the smartest of the bunch.

my guess is: the smartest Bushes are those who avoided politics.

bill frist creeps me out a lot, too. its looking to me like the republican spring/summer primary circuit next year will be frist, mccain, maybe condi? the sad part is that i can't predict this at all for frontrunners. both parties need to get in gear.

Actually, living in a strongly republican state (Georgia), I can say I've met quite a few people who think Bush was/is one of the best presidents ever.

An interesting thing that has hovered in the back of my mind ever since 2000 is a book I read about Abraham Lincoln's life, and all the trials he went through. It's interesting, he was hated, literally hated by much of the American public. He even had several assasination attempts (in his first term, at least) during his run, not just that one. People raved about how horrible he was, but now he's revered as one of the greatest presidents of all time and one of the key factors of what held our country together during the Civil War.
