They're making a new movie about the passengers of United 93, the plane on 9/11 that almost flew into the capital. Too early for a 9/11 movie? About time? TELL WHAT U THINK! |

I heard that some people were fainting and having heart attacks and stuff in the pre-screenings, which I think is a BIT over-reactive, but then again, I'm Canadian. It didn't affect me as much. |

I personally think it's too close for them to do something like that. You'd figure they would do one eventually, but not so soon. It can take a long time to come to grips with things like that, especially what happened that day. I still get put off simply thinking about it. |

Might serve as a good reminder to some who feel terrorism is just a prank President Bush is attempting to pull on us. |

I personally think it might be a bit too early. But then again, World War II movies were being made less then a year after the war was over But on another note, you do not have to see the film. Well, I think that we should wait another fifteen years before we make a film. But sometimes a heartache can never go away. When Grave of the Fireflies came out in Japan in 1988, quite a bit of the public could not bear to watch it. Even though World War II had ended almost 60 years ago. I know that if I had a loved one who died I couldn't watch the film. |

no, im just not user friendly! and no, theres proof of a crash, but did you ever once wonder why this flight was the one that was made into a bigger deal than the other crashes? sure, sure, the story says they fought back, but in reality, noone knows that for sure, even with the recordings from the cellphones, they could all be a conspiracy to cover up the governments order to shoot it down. |

Didn't they just release the sound recordings from that flight about a week go? I know I read about it in the Washington Post, but I don't remember which flight it was... |

it was 93, the flight that Zacarias was supposed to be on, but even with that, i still say they shot it down. |

Despite the evidence to the contrary. Like the audiotape of the cockpit in the final moments before the crash. |

So what if the government DID shoot it down? That woulda meant that they saved the lives of countless people on the ground. The person giving that order wouldn't be signing the death warrant of those on board. The hijackers did that. Of course, that whole "government shot down 93" further pokes holes in the whole "the Government planned 9/11 and that's why they did nothing to stop it" thing. People, if you're going to have all of these wild theories, at least make sure they agree! Regardless, though, I think now is the right time for the movie, IF the families of the people on the plane think so. |

There has already been Law & Order episodes that used the WTC Towers as it's premise. I can think of at least two (and I don't watch it much anymore). I personally don't care one way or the other about this. I find it a little tacky to attempt to profit off so many people's loss. But how many original stories truly exist? Whatever the plot is, someone is liable to be offended by it. |

A few years back South Park had a bunch of AIDS jokes, and the "resolution" at the end was "AIDS has been around for exactly 29 years! It's ok to joke about it" That's where he got the 29 years thing, I assume. What it has to do with this discussion, though, is beyond my understanding. |

He didn't answer his own question, it was Ian's question. But whatever. I think it doesn't matter what we think. The movie is already made and, like Alexander said, you don't have to see it. It's like that with all movies, there is no law that says you have to see it or pay attention to it. I'm not going to see it because I think they're going to really dramatize it, and I would rather take comfort in believing my own little story about what happened in the plane. |

Like portraying them as patriotic freedom-fighters who wouldn't take no for an answer? (I'm not saying that most or some of the passengers weren't patriotic, just giving an example of a dramatization). Was Flight 93 "LET'S ROLL"? If so...ugh. |

"Let's roll" was most likely a reference to the food cart the passengers were going to use as a battering ram, as in "Let's roll the cart." But anyway, considering the producers got the permission of the families of each of the original passengers to make this movie, and a portion of the profits are going to be donated to a Flight 93 charity, I have no problem with it. Alexander wrote: But then again, World War II movies were being made less then a year after the war was over.
That's true. In fact, weren't they making WWII movies before the war was even over? Wake Island comes to mind. |

Actually, it was determined that it was "Roll It", not Let's Roll. Just had to point that out. I don't really like the idea of a 9/11 movie, but it won't really matter. I don't think that most Americans would want to see it. But, of course, movies like this always turn out to be a huge thing... |

I don't believe the plane was shot down, though. The wife of a man that was on a plane wrote a book called "Let's Roll." It was about Flight 93, and how the people came together to save the White House, which would have been destroyed had the plane hit. The last thing the man said before hanging up his cell phone with his wife was "Let's Roll", which is where she got the title of the book. |
