That's right. The 19th highjacker is sitting in prison, his care payed for with our tax dollars, after assisting in acts that resulted in the deaths of around 3000 Americans. I really need to think about this before I start posting comments I'll regret, but what's your take on the issue?

I say cut his eyes out, rip his tongue off, and remove his vocal cords, so when Bubba comes up to him in the shower, he doesn't see him, and when he realizes Bubba is there, he can't scream for help.

Give a lifetime of that.

But I still agree that they should not kill him. That would make him a martyr. I would like to see him slowly rot, or die of prisoner-inflicted-AIDS, in a jail cell.

That won't happen, the prison he is going to the ADX Superman Prison in Florence, Colorado. There he will be in perminent solitary confinement. He will be in good company there.

Dang. I have seen a History Channel thing on the supermax. It looks too clean and sanitary to house that Untermensch. I say keep him with the dirtiest, meanest, most unsavory prisoners in the country's harshest prison, Sing Sing.

And get this: as they were leading him out of court, he said "America lost. I won." I wouldn't be too upset if he was somehow killed by an inmate.

I have posted my ideas on other forums about what I would do to people like that. The kind of posts that would make Ted Bundy blush. I will not post them here because this forum has a kind of innocence that I like, plus I don't want to get banned.

Basically it's several paragraphs of the most gruesome torture I can think of. If you have read Brett Easton Ellis' American Psycho, my posts are about (literally) 10x more graphic than the torture scenes in that.

It's more a catharsis for my anger than anything else.

Actually, he was just saying that. He came here to die fighting america. He lost. I'm actually glad he didn't get the Death Penalty. Most martyrs don't become martyrs by spending life in prison. Too bad he's going to be in solitary, though.

I heard in the news that Zacarias Moussaoui had escaped from Death Penalty, and chances of putting him in jail for a long time is very high.

Actually, he HAS been put into jail for a really long time. Life in prison.

You are aware that it costs more to execute someone than it does to let them rot in a cell for the rest of their mortal life, right?

I am just beating a dead horse when I say that this is better. First, (as has been mentioned) he doesn't get to become the martyr. Second, the United States looks a little bit like nearly every other 1st world country.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_penalty

I do think that he deserves whatever happens to him while he is serving out his sentance.

Just a note Keep the hate down in here. I don't care what he did, we run a "family" site. If you want take it "up a level" you will have to take it elsewhere.

I don't know that this is my represents a 180 on my stance on the death penalty, but I really think that life in prison is a far better punishment than death. I mean, he wanted to die. I would prefer psychological punishment (like blasting Toby Keith's Angry American 24/7 in his cell). People would call that cruel and unusual, but the bill of rights only applies to American citizens, right? :p

The SUPERMAN prison? What are they going to do, encase him in kryptonite?

I think they should put him on a strict ham, bacon, and baby back rib diet.

stu made the exact point i wanted to make: im glad he didnt get death penalty mostly because of the cost. injections cost millions of dollars and i will be happy to honestly forget about the bleepin' bleeper for good and let him sit in obscurity. more than the martyrdom issue, i am just happy that he doesn't get the publicity of an execution because he deserves obscurity. just like when lennon was shot and Yoko Ono asked people not to talk about the guy who did it because he didnt deserve the infamy and surprisingly, it worked pretty well. i can't easily name him like i can harvey oswald or wilkes booth. so i say obscuirty for the degenerate and let him sit for good. that and its cheaper for us.

That's not really where the cost comes from. The real cost is from all of the appeals that take place. He would be represented by a state (or federally) appointed lawyer. The prosecuter would be as well. Tax dollars would be responsible for their salaries. Then you have all of the judges, juries, court secretaries, office assistants, etc...

If you put someone in prision without the possibility of parole, you cut out so much money from people's salaries. Then you figure that the average death row inmate is going to consume how many resources (that a non-death row inmate would also consume) while waiting for all of the appeals to take place.

Admitedly, this would be a special case. I don't imagine that he would put up a lot of fight with the appeals courts. Dying would be an honor for him, and I would bet that he would do everything in his power to expedite the process.

Actually, I have an even better idea. The prison guards should just wait until after he's finished one of his meals, and then ask him nonchalantly, "How did you enjoy your roast pork?" That would make him completely paranoid.

...or better. Wait til he's eaten for an entire week, THEN say "see? Pork isn't so bad. That's all you've eaten all week. It didn't kill you, did it?"
tee hee

You people have sick imaginations. :p

Anyway, I think this is a positive verdict. Like it was already said, a martyr has not been made of ZM. He will die forgotten, and that's the worse punishment.

Well, he DID plot part of the worst terrorist attack in US history.
So we can't kill him. Who says we can't have a little fun with him? :p

Yeah, well being locked up in a cell for 23 hours can screw with your mind.

I don't really care that he got life in prison rather than the death penalty. As long as he's not a threat to anyone, it's cool with me.
