| Post subject: | [General] Great Big Politics Poll |
Non-US, UK, Aus, and Canada residents only, please. Only vote in one poll. EDIT: Meh, the whole thing's been locked, kinda ruining the purpose of the "Great Big" part. EDIT: I've re-made this into a general poll, per mod's request. |

Edit the title of this one and you can use it for EVERY country. The only problem I see is that "Independant" parties are either liberal, conservative, or moderate. |

Well, by "Independent" I mean "not in a party". |

You got the stances mixed up. Liberals are Left-leaning and Conservatives are Right-leaning. |

And hence, I don't know how to vote. Moreover, while I hold liberal views on social subjects (e.g. abortion, gay marriage, etc.) for my country (the USA), I hold more moderate views on economics (e.g. welfare, social security, etc.). |

Since I'm too young to register for a political party, I would say moderate since that's where my Political Compass goes. |

What about a completely different category: Those who prefer voluntary cooperation between free humans over any government system. |

Because of my travels, I once had three votes at the same time - one in the Republic of Ireland, in Northern Ireland, and in the UK general elections. I usually vote indepentant, mostly just to stick it to the Man. A few years ago, I voted for a guy calling himself Ming the Merciless, who's campaigning for the legalisation of cannabis in Ireland. |

I am a moderate Democrat. I tend to support the Democratic party more than the Republican party, but I am pretty moderate in my views. |

This is a gross misunderstanding. On a whole those who worship Lucifer, are no more evil than those who worship other Gods.... Quote: As I have previously stated, I am evil... ...ORLY?!!! EDIT AGAIN: Quote: Additionally, I
will have President George W. Bush charged and tried for the murders of every American that has been killed in Iraq as a result of him sending them into War. Upon being convicted, I think everyone knows what his punishment will be. ...Is that even possible? |

Well, I don't see him saying he is evil and saying that satanists aren't evil is a contradiction. My favorite thing I've seen is his reason why he hates God... Essentially it boils down to "God is a lousy parent". He is mad at God for sending his son to earth knowing he would be brutally handled and then crucified. ANYWAY, TOASTPAINT. |

I am an independent. But if I was to be tethered down to a political affiliation, it would be a republican. More accurately, I am a moderate conservative, or at least I think I am... |

I would like to say "none," so I guess that makes me independent. What bugs me about modern politics is that we are in situations where change is needed, we acknowledge that change is needed, and we fight it every step of the way. "It's not RIGHT to do it this way." I, for whatever reason, get really irritated when people try to bring morality into the mix as credible, logical, argument because morality varies from person to person. The purpose of government is to create a framework by which society can efficiently operate, and make its policies known to the public. Countries that insert clauses guaranteeing rights like the freedom of expression open a floodgate of interpretation issues that complicate matters. This is odd, since I am a Catholic by baptism so one would be likely to assume that I'd be more likely to allow my ethical beliefs to influence my political views. However, in the cover of the night I am a Machiavellian at heart. By the way, if it sounded like I was getting agitated or flaming at all in that rant, I really wasn't. |

I'm librish I guess. Most of my views would be categorized as liberal. Except on things like religeon in public places* and such. *Seriously, who gets offended by that kind of stuff? |

I'd say I'm independent because I don't really agree with either major party. |

I would just like to say that you can be liberal or conservative and still independent. I am an independent conservative. |

I never said you couldn't. Personally I'd describe myself as somewhere between conservative and libertarian. |
