Just gotta rant about this. It's okay to show all of a boob on TV except for the nipple. I've seen it. There was this medical show, and a chick with exposed boobage. Only the nipple was censored.

WHY?

Why don't you just censor out mens' nipples, too? It's the same smurfin' thing. All or none, man.

It's not like it's some sort of horrible thing that will corrupt you for all of eternity, anyway. When you take a shower, what do you see? Nipples. Sacks of flab along with if you're female. Come on. Everyone who takes a shower (And isn't crazy and just wears a bathing suit) isn't psycho, now are they? O_o (Well, if you wear a bathing suit to the shower.... )

Ah, welcome to the Wacky U.S.

What's really going to bake your noodle is, why are nipples verboten while showing a man getting the back of his head blown off a-okay? Now really, which is gonna do more damage to the kid watching?

I can tell that we subscribe to slightly different opinions concerning those "sacks of flab."

..wait, I'ma get banned for that one, aren't I?

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I prefer Europe's values these days.

In the U.S., it's violence is good, sexual diversity not so good. In Europe, it's all about sex, and violence is not so good. Guess which one does the most damage.

Oh, man. The violence thing was the part I forgot to add. That is crazy. So much agreement. *high-five'd* I mean, I love violent things, but it's insane to think sex is worse than violence.

As for the "sacks of flab" thing... well, they are! xD

I read an anecdote a year or two ago--though I can't say whether or not it's factual--about the music video for Radiohead's "Paranoid Android." It said that when Canada's MuchMusic aired the video they blurred out the part where a cartoon character cuts off his own arms with a chainsaw. When our MTV aired it, they left that part uncensored, but chose instead to blur out some cartoon mermaids' bare breasts (a scene which MuchMusic left intact).

That video creeped me out as a kid. It does have the best guitar riff ever, though. It deserves a better video. With Megaman in it, freakin' out.

Ah yes, the "Paranoid Android" video.... I had almost forgotten about that one. That's probably one of the more strange and disturbing videos ever made.

And actually, on censoring mens' nipples as well as women's, that happens in R.E.M.'s "Pop Song 89" video. The effect is very ridiculous yet amusing. :D

I agree. It's ridiculous and retarded and retardidiculous. I mean, EVERYONE HAS NIPPLES. Unless they're some kind of weird freak, in which case they might not. And really, I never understood what's so sexual about boobs anyway...

I've never heard of that music video, but the way different people censored it is... interesting. x_x

I've never thought of boobs as very sexual, either. Like I said-- just sacks of flab. Even my best friend-- a guy, doesn't think boobs are all that great.

Anyone remember The Last Unicorn? I watched it when I was little and loved it. Last year, I happened upon the movie again. Remember the Harpie? She's got huge, sagging boobs. I never noticed/cared about it before. =B

Heh...that movie was rated G--a movie for kids--and had boobs, murder, and the word "damn."

Yeah, man. I remember. Now that's a kid's movie! w00t.

Has anyone ever complained about it? I've never heard of anyone doing so, but, y'know, people are crazy.

People only complain about things that everyone likes.

Heck yes.

BANNED!

Oh, I took your place as admin, too.
For all intents and purposes, I'm not an admin. Yet.

I think that this whacky censorship is nuts. I mean, little kids don't know what those sexual parts are yet, but if you've ever bled, you know that getting your head chopped off is really freaky and it can seriously mess you up. There are some things you just can't un-see.

ohh, man, i love you guys!

okay, now onto the Sacks of Flab of the post...
i hate how people do this, i mean, nipples arent tantalizing,i dont even know what that means!, or anything of the matter! but then again......its been for hundreds of years that nipples on women are wrong.

Let me ask this question:

For any females who read this, how willing are you to walk around topless in the summertime? I'm not talking about at the beach, but all day- wherever you go? Assuming support of your "sacks of flab" is not an issue, would this bother you at all?

I am most definately not a lady, so I can't answer for them. But I can tell you (as a non-lady-type) that most men shouldn't be walking around with no shirt on. There are exceptions of course. If you are at a beach/pool, whatever. If you happen to be Fabio, then I also think that you are fine to walk around with no shirt on.

Gross.

Did I say Fabio was hot??

All I said, is there are some people who can walk around with no shirt. Fabio would be one of those people (for crying out loud, have you seen his body? I will freely admit that I am jealous).

Stay on topic, Stu.

You're not even a female.

Don't tell an admin to stay on topic. It's not very respectful.

I find it odd that we live in a society where we can show people getting shot and stabbed, but when a nipple or a four-letter word comes up, there are red flags everywhere.

Just get HBO if you don't like censorship.

Wow, that was teh roffle, good for you IJ.

GETTING BACK ON TOPIC

The show in question is probably on cable (which I don't get). Cable usually has more lax rules on censorship because the consumer is paying for the content. Network TV however has very strict rules about the showing of boobage.

I'd love to if it weren't such a taboo. =P Ah, freedom. I already refuse to wear a bra....

And I did notice that things you pay for are more lax about censorship. Like satillite radio. ...I love Sirius. =B

i wonder if we can actually some how make it to where, like... you know, "Sacks of Flab" are not taboo. and seriously, because of all that violence i see on TV for no reason at all, im a bit paranoid about getting shot at.

Oh, yeah. I watch way too much America's Most Wanted and Dateline and all that. I know that murders and stuff don't actually happen that much (which is why they're featured on the tv whenever they do happen), but I can get really paranoid. I want a bullet proof vest, and if I owned one, I'd carry a gun wherever I go. I'm serious.

I have twelve guage shot-gun in my room. I practiced for years, and I finally got a headshot. I never have missed since that time. Soo...
I'm paranoid, also.
