Let Me say this differently(spelling?), I'm okay with it, as long as I'm not seeing it.

No offense (by which, I mean to be cautious), but that could be construed to be rather close-minded-sounding. Like people who say "I have no problem with homosexuality, as long as it doesn't come into my life directly," when they mean that as long as seeing homosexuals in their real life are as unlikely as seeing Godzilla in their real life, then it's okay, but if their own kid turns out gay, they disown them... So they turn out to be just as close-minded as any other bigot.

So, yeah, I'm sincerely hoping you don't mean it like that example, but just be careful how you word things sometimes.

hey, someone else with nudist relatives! my relations live in a Florida nudist colony.

anyway, i don't care if people go naked, i don't care if i see them. i just never would myself cuz i wasn't raised that way. plus, personally, i think clothes are necessary for health reasons (skin cancer, bug bites, etc).

i admit though, if i suddenly saw a naked person (and wasn't expecting it) and they weren't exactly very good looking, my automatic response would probably be to run away and wash my eyes in a chemical bath. so maybe there is something to be said for being raised among nudists and that whole respecting the body thing.

I know I am close minded on this(but its not for religion type reasons), I dont really want this to turn into a big discussion, I'm very uugh on this type stuff, heck, I felt like ripping out My eyes when I seen a 70 year old woman in a bikini.

A pile of dog crap is natural. How can something be "more natural" than somehting else?

I mean more natural for the human body to eat

Eh, not really. Humans are omnivores -- we're designed to get our nutrition from both vegetation and meat. Morality, of course, gets in the way and now we can substitute any proteins we lose from not eiting meat with pills, or protein enriched foods that our ancestors otherwise had no access to.

What do you guys think about nudism? Lot's of people think it's like some kind of sexual cult, but it's really not. Me and my family are all nudists because my parents and their paernts beleived that it enables you to grow up with respect for the human body and to be with out shame. I don't know if this topic will get locked or not, I just want to know what you all think.

I've seen in documented studies that teens that grow up nudeists are acually less likely to engage in any sexual activity, my guess is since they've seen it all already there's no need to get curious.

I like being naked, but I rarely am because I'm always in this computer chair, and it really feels ick when the chair gets all sweaty... heh heh... I bet that's an image you can do without...

Anyway, I think it's absurd that the naked human body -- the form we're all born in, as somebody noted -- is so abhorred by this society. Now, I'm not going to go parading around naked because of course I respect other people's opinions on the matter. (That, and I'm not that hot a guy.) But that doesn't mean I don't think those opinions are silly; I just don't want to cause trouble. I don't bug you, you don't bug me, we're happy. ;) I'm pretty much the same way with politics and religion. Well, unless your religion or political stance is particularly intolerant... I bristle at intolerance.

I certainly think there are much much greater things to worry about in this world than whether or not somebody has clothes on. Remember the moral panic about the 2003 Super Bowl? I thought that was hilarious. We were preparing for an all-out freaking war and then we're worrying about somebody's natural anatomy being shown for a split second on television (albeit with an unnatural ring added around it). I think there's a lack of perspective involved there. Again, I respect those who think it shouldn't have happened (and I myself think it shouldn't have, but only given how other people would react to it), but I can't help but think the whole thing's silly.

Then again, I have pretty much the same point of view on things that other people would find much less pleasant to think about (and too risqué to mention in this thread), so, eh, what do I know?

Nudism. Not anthing wrong with it, but I would prefer not to see someone walking about in the nude. Anyway, clothes aren't all about hiding your shame, they are about stopping particular body parts being unprotected. If you know what I mean.

Okay, well it's no secret vegetables are more healthy.

Yeah, I have no problem with it. I'd rather not, because I'm accustomed to clothes, but if others want to, thats perfectly fine, they have rights.

I think a better discussion here would be not whether nudism is OK (that's no fun because almost all of us agree nothing's wrong with it unless you go parading around naked), but whether or not our attitudes about nudity are a good thing or a bad thing. For instance, most of us here (not me! ;)) would prefer not to see other people naked in most situations. How do you feel about your own preference? Do you think it's a fault? Do you take pride in it? Could you care less?
