It wasn't on purpose, though... Although it's interesting to say it as if it was.

And as usual, the leftists are all over the incident, assuming the worst.

I'm so tired of the blatant partisan behavior.

That is all.

you know, everyone in the news is making a big deal out of why they did not find out about it sooner. it doesnt matter, it happend allready, we all already know, but it just came out late.

This is almost as funny as when Dubya almost choked on a pretzel.

Just an accident, pure and simple. Kinda funny, but at the same time you don't want to laugh when a guy gets shot.

From what I've read, these guys weren't being very safe. Cheney didn't know where every member of his party was at all times (very important when you're flinging lead all over the place) and this dude didn't make his location known when he seperated from the group.

It was an accident. It doesn't mean that guns should be banned or that hunting should be banned or anything. People screw up. Glad to hear the shootee is going to be ok.

On a related note. When I first saw that Cheney had shot someone, I pictured him with a do-rag on, holding a Glock sideways and saying "Break yoself, fool!"...

"V-Peeeee!"

Here's a web site where you can generate your own CNN News article about Dick Cheney shooting your friend or loved one.

Here's a visual hunting guide for Vice-Presidential hunting trips:

Also, there's this:

Notably absent is "Outing your status as a covert intelligence agent." [via Boing Boing]

Heh, there are over 1,400 things in an average room that Vin Diesel can kill you with, including the room itself.

It's not a whole lot different from when the press jumped all over Clinton and his scandal(s). If you are really so scared of the blatant partisan behavior you could always go listen to Rush or Sean, or go watch a little Fox news... they are all known for being reputable and unbiased sources of news. :)

That's what the press does. What fun would an article about a hunting trip where no people where accidentally shot.

Of course, I never stated the right was completely unbiased, themselves.

And I do listen to all kinda of news outlets from Sean Hannity sometimes to CBS News sometimes to reading Michael Moore sometimes. And by the way, Hannity and Rush are by no means known for being "reputable and unbiased". They hate liberals. They admit it themselves. No conservative I know believes these two men to be infallible.

While the right-wing tends towards the same spin techniques and misinformation that the left does, I just can't see Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity making this big a deal over a hunting accident if someone like Ted Kennedy was the shooter.

That's all.

Really? I can't see them talking about anything else for at least two weeks.

Talking about it, yes.

Demanding an investigation into why it took an entire day to report the incident? No.

I didn't really pay attention to things back when Clinton was in office, but I am willing to bet that they (or their equivalents) made the same sort of fuss about Clinton.

The fact that he lied under oath isn't really what I am talking about. Why was he being asked these questions under oath in the first place, that's the relation I am trying to make.

The left nuts will demand that this whole ordeal be examined under the finest of microscopes, simply due to the negative pr that it will generate. The right nuts would (and have) done the same thing in the past. Welcome to politics, right? (or left?)

That'd never happen... Kennedy is anti-gun. He'd never accidently shoot someone.

Drive drunk and run his car off a bridge, yes. Shoot someone? Not as likely. :p

And I imagine, had they been around back then, Fox News would've run with that for about a month.

Ok, I'll stop trying to be funny now.

Well, in all fairness, Scott McClellan is a jerk.

Interesting how you're the one to bring partisan issues into this topic. I haven't heard of the leftists being "all over" it, and leftism isn't "partisan" behaviour 90% of the time since their "Extremes" are only in reaction to the Right.

Just because it was "accidental" doesn't mean he's entirely absolved from blame, though. This is another great reason why people should be more responsible with their guns.

Pft. That's not news-worthy material at all. Dick Cheney is responsible for tons of deaths already. A near miss is nothing compared his liberation invasions.

Roffle. This morning on the radio, the spoofed Aerosmith's Jainie's Got a Gun, it was called Cheney's Got a Gun. If I could find it, I would post it on here.

I don't see why people are so upset about this.

Even the victim is making fun of Cheney.

That was pretty funny, when I first heard about it I wasn't sure if it was a joke or what, then I read the article and started laughing even more.

The Daily Show really sunk their claws into this one.

Last night=Teh Roffle.

I personally don't see why any of this is amusing. O.o

If you ask me it's more annoying than anything

It's because Cheny is always made out to be crazy and violent, so it's kind of like...stuff...It's hard to explain.

The Daily Show has a great segment about it. Not really about the "lateness" or whatnot, just about how the situation is unfortunate yet funny.
