While there is some truth to the statement that dems are liberals and reps are conservatives, what about the issue of gay rights. A conservative would want less government in their lives, so they wouldn't be advocating legislation against homosexuals. How about birth control/abortion? Again, the conservatives would be about getting the government out of your lives. The problem with this concept is most of the republican platform follows a very religious path (typically christian). If you want a true conservative look at the libertarian party, and if you want a true liberal look over to the communist party. |

I took the Political Compass quiz a few months ago in my Government class. It turns out I'm center as to Authoritarian-Libertarian, but slightly to the left. So I'm a Moderate. Whoopee. |

I am a staunch Republican. I voted for Senator McCain in the 2000 election. I voted for Bush in the 2004 election. Hypothetically, in the year 2028; genetics will have allowed us to expand the average human lifespan to 200 years. A relatively young Senator McCain is ready for the challenge. He faces a reanimated Jimmy Carter zombie. I will vote for McCain. |

I'm a Democrat. Not a CRAZY Democrat like Howard Dean, but a Democrat. And GeneralDoli, why wait for 2028? What's wrong with '08? Surely you don't think that Jeb Bush or Bill "The Antichrist" Frist will run, do you? I might vote for McCain in 2008 if he runs, but not if he's up against Al Gore. McCain is really one of maybe three Republicans I'd consider voting for, along with Arnold Schwarzenegger (you can't beat THAT kind of name recognition) and Colin Powell. But Al Gore or Wesley Clark have them all beat. Especially Clark. |

I didn't forget her. I just don't think she stands a chance to win a Presidential election against any Republican. I was talking only about candidates which I think can win. Hillary is not one of those. |

McCain has repeated he will not run. In the year 2008, I basically think the Republicans are going to be pretty screwed. I mean, think about it. Hillary Clinton is teh ubar monster that shoots lasers out of its eyeballs. The only person -I- think can beat her is Condoleeza Rice, but that's just me. We'll have our next woman president in 4 years, I'm almost sure of it. |

Condi sucks. I'm sorry but she sucks. The only person from the Bush administration who has a legit shot at the Presidency is former Secretary of State Colin Powell. |

Why do you say that? She isn't really all that much worse than other Republicans, but in my opinion she has even less of a chance to become President than Hillary. I'd like to see a Hillary vs. Condi election, though. Hillary would likely win. |

But, you know, if Ahnuld got the law that says non-American-borns can't be elected repealed, there's no way he'd ever lose. No way. Of course, having that law repealed means that my brother could run, also. Vote Ben T. in '32! |

I voted for other... "Communist/Socialist". I don't mean by that the oppresive totalitarian system that Eastern Europe, USSR, Cuba, North Korea and Vietnam has/had, I mean the true ideology of Marx.

I took a quiz that told the results in a better format a while back (I'll post it here if I can find it again), and it told me I was a Totalitarian. Right on the line between Totalitarian and Republican. Nowhere NEAR Democrat. Wootsuch. |

Wootsuch. Is being a Democrat such a bad thing? Like, are you going to get stabbed if you are left-winged in any way? Just askin', ya know? |

Not at all, but I'd be disappointed in myself if for two or three years now I had considered myself a Republican, only to find out that my views are considered those of a Democrat. Ya know. |

I took that quiz. Apparently, I lean more toward the left, and I lean toward libertarianism. I tend to consider myself a moderate who leans slightly towards the left. |

I am a republican. Kinda weird to have a Jewish republican, eh? But I hate it when legislators argue about the stupidest things. Like, in my opinion, minimum wage or, even worse, the Valary Plame affair. It got boring that no one was indicted on leaking, but I am not surprised. |

I'm a Republican, former Air Force (1991-1995) and am about to join the Army; I ship out to boot camp November 8. I don't agree with everything the Republicans do (they spend WAY too much money on social program boondoggles and don't take border security or illegal immigration seriously) but since they're closest to representing what I believe in, that's who I vote for. |

Here's a new political test for y'all. I scored "Totalitarian", right on the line between that and "Republican". Oddly, I was on the Pope's right shoulder.
