I sure will. I don't like the cartoons, but Transforqmers are just cool in general.

Since Beast Warriors was so good, I might see it.

Whaaaaaa?!?! This is the only Transformers series worth mentioning. (And yes, I'll be seeing the movie.)

Have you secured the nethandle "Optimus Prime" yet? tee hee

Honestly, I don't want to see the transformers movie, nor do I want to see ANY cartoon I watched as a kid made into a movie. People nowadays can't do cartoons like they used to.

On a slightly off-topic note, there's some guy who had his name legally changed to Optimus Prime...

I might see this movie... I dunno, isn't Shia LeBoeuf in it?

I might see it. I was a fan of both the original series and Beast Wars; everything after that I either outgrew or it just outright sucked.

I'd like to see more than just a teaser for the movie though; I haven't really seen much else.

Honestly, while I was sitting in Pirates, and this came on as a preview, I started laughing. Out loud. And everyone heard me.
No. I will not be seeing the Transformers movie.

Well, Michael Bay directed it so at least there will be lots of explosions and 'cool' effects and no plot and wooden acting...

Anyway, they did cast the same voice actor who did Optimus Prime in the old cartoon series. That's something I guess.

My dad is all over old cartoons to movies. Until they suck. So I'll probably be seeing Transfomerz.

Michael Bay?
Michael "Pearl Harbor" Bay?

Oh great, the movie is going to completely miss the point of Autobots and Decepticons battling for energy, and probably focus on why Optimus Prime likes using Quaker State instead of Valvoline (that summer, when his engine was rebuilt... by the lovely blonde with a heart of gold...) or something like that..

Personally, I'd like to see a Go-Bots movie first. I wasn't as into Go-Bots when I was a kid, so if it gets messed up, no harm, no foul.
My expectations for a Transformers movie are just too high to be met.

"No, Optimus Prime, no...you can't use that cheap no name brand stuff!"
"It's the only way, Generic Fruity Sidekick. although I'd much rather use Quaker State *ding*"

Transformers movie? Awesome. It better not be set at kids, though. Or I will hurt someone.

I'd also like to see a new He-Man movie.

The Botfriend is going to try to make me see this movie. I will not want to go, so he will placate me with popcorn and Junior Mints.

To anyone who is going to see this. Save your 7-12 bucks and go find an old copy of the 1986 animated movie. Even a non-fan like me found it to be really decent movie. It's even got Orson Welles for crying out loud!

Even if that can't sway you from yet another Michael Bay multi-million dollar trainwreck (yup, another cheap shot at Bay. I got a million of 'em!), try to find a copy of the first film first and compare it to the new movie. I bet you'll have a lot of fun. Not as much fun as comparing the 1979's The Clonus Horror to Bay's blatent rip off The Island but close enough. Dangit did I make another cheap shot? I'll quit now.

Yeah, they did that already. It was called Masters of the Universe, it starred Dolph Lundgren and there's a good reason why no one remembers it.

There was an old live action He-Man. It had Pigboy.

Bet you don't know who Pigboy is!

I do, but that's for another topic. I missed JD's post which mentioned the 'new' thing, so sorry 'bout that. Let's get back to the Transformers disscusion. Toastpaint.

I've heard some grumblings about dramatic redesigns of some of the characters, but as long as the movie doesn't suck, I'll see it. However, I beg of Michael Bay, please, PLEASE don't make changes for the sake of changes. Some things are best left alone.

I guess nobody noticed what I said up there...

Shia Freaking LaBeouf is in this movie. Louis Stevens! That annoying random kid in I, Robot! If anything really ruins this movie, it'll be him.

I hope they make Megatron a gun, like he should be, instead of the plethora of crappy forms he is in other cartoons.

The trailer really took me by surprise in the theater.

I think I'll go see it, because I feel like it's part of the Nerd Mandate. I like Transformers in general, though not really the visual media--the toys, yanno, and the concept.

I heard that the character that turned in to a VW Bug is going to turn in to a Camaro instead. I guess VW didn't like the idea of their brand name being in the movie. Or maybe Chevy paid Michael Bay more for product placement.

Movies about old cartoons don't go so well. Look at how much the Thunderbirds movie sucked!
