Because music is asthetic, comments on any song may be admitted.

This topic came from an idea I had when I was listening to what I consider the oddest piece of music.

Toto Angelica, -By Alvin Curran.

I listen to it often, but it's a very incredible piece.

The piece is composed of every sound imaginable, which is then played at 3 times the normal rate.

When I listen to it, I feel like I'm running through time and my life.

And with that, what do you think?

Oddest, music, ever. Top that.

I'd say either John Cage's 4'33"--the oddest music you'll ever NOT hear--or anything by that washed up hack, Milton Babbitt

Probably the moo-sic from this animation.

It's awesome, though.

Accually, I really like that song.

*saves the page*

I also really love Mr. Cage's 4' 33" piece. But I think everyone already knows that.

"Music is only asthetic."

Umm... we listened to something by Rob Zombie in my "Experiences in Music" class a few semesters ago. Weird as crap. Weeeeird.

Interesting--and gorgeous--song. The lyrics are a yoik, but the tune itself sounds inspired by popular composers of the Russian Revolution (Khatchaturian, Tchaikovsky, etc.).

Either any song by Jethro Tull, or Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo by the Bloodhound Gang.

Am I allowed to post that?

Probably "Fingertips," by They Might Be Giants. Or, as I once saw it described in an anime music video, "The ADD Song."

"Stink Hippie" by Five Iron Frenzy.Actually, almost anything on their album, "Cheeses", is really weird.'Cause there's also "Pootermobile".And lots-o-others.

Regarding "4'33"" - there's a difference between "weird" and "horribly pretentious".

Probably something by Aphex Twin, or likely something by that Hansel band I mentioned. Example: Zlotnik ~ Hansel?

Also "Did You Miss Me?" by Young Gods.

"Aquarius" by Boards of Canada. Orange.

Yeah...when I read the topic title, I was pretty much interpreting it as "odd music" to the point of "so weird and out there that I think it sounds like total crap." And Aphex Twin is Teh Awesomeness--some of the very few techno music I actually dig.

I heard this in a YTMND. It is listed as Edguy - Theatre of Salvation, but I looked up Edguy on Wikipedia, but it said that they were a german metal band. WTF?

Yeah. I dunno. The only thing I can think of is Revolution 9, and that's not really even "music"..... that's just John Lennon being...... well, a crazy weirdo. In other words, himself.

I'm suprised that no one has mentioned Spider by They Might Be Giants. Seriously, that song is weird.

If not for that, probably that song that goes "If I had a million dollars...".

I love that song! It's by Barenaked Ladies and it's called... "If I Had a Million Dollars." :P I once translated part of it into Spanish. It came out very unweildly-like. O.o

Speaking of [s]the best band evar[/s] Barenaked Ladies, their song "Shopping" is kind of strange. It's awesome, but strange. Wikipedia says its a subtle criticism of the Bush Administration, but I don't know...

Well, you know that it's gonna be all right.
You know it's gonna be all right!
Everything will always be all right.
When we go shopping!

I know! And [CENSOR'd] Wants To Hit Me. "SOME CRAZY ******* WANTS TO HIT MEEEEEEEEEEE..." But Spider = very weird.

Also, CT, "The ADD Song" is a very apt title for Fingertips. XD

Chemical Bomb by the Aquabats. The song has a happy tune, but it talks about the world ending.
Now that I think about it, most of the Aquabats' songs are pretty bizarre.

I find the song "Fade to Grey" by Visage to be extremely odd. The awkwardness doubles if you ever see the music video.

Time Zones by Negativland... though it would only be classed as "music" by virtue of the fact that made by a band and released on an album...
A large segment of it is essentially just a conversation, remixed as though it were a techno song. Weird.

Right now, I'd say anything by Parry Gripp. My CD came the other day, and I'm loving it. Click on the e-card for more stuff to listen to. Minor language, such as the not-so-nice word for bum.

And watch the Waffle animation, too.

Don't credit me! It was an anime music video I saw that dubbed it that. XD Actually it was called "ADD theater," but close enough.

Now that I think of it, most of the music in Katamari Damacy is very strange. "I wanna wad you up in my liiiife!"
