So I was rocking out (and still am) and thought I'd look up some of music terms and equipment: Breakdown* Double Bass (sometimes known as a 'Double Kick') China and Splash cymbals (both common during breakdowns) *A breakdown is a place in a piece of music (usually punk, metal or a combination of the two) where the song slows to 4/4 time (regardless of how fast the song previously was) to give the gituarists a chance to play something more rhythmically oriented and is often backed by a simple beat by the drummer using the bass drum and a double kick, splash or china cymbal or a combination of the two. |
