I was just wondering if we had any baseball fans here.
I'm a Chicago Cubs fan, and I can't believe they let the Mets score 11 times in one inning yesterday.

I'm a Red Sox fan (I live in MA) but I'm just a casual fan. I don't have cable, so if there's a game on, I usually only get to watch it online at mlb.com. I'd probably be a bigger fan if I actually saw the games.

I'm a Padres fan. Well, I wouldn't be if I didn't live in San Diego. But, I live in San Diego, so they're my team. I've got season tickets [[just a twenty game package]], and we go a few times with groups, like my church, or baseball team.
It's fun. It's just too bad they gave up 36 runs to the Braves in this last series.

I can't believe the Cubs' entire season this year.

Anyways, I've been a Detroit Tigers fan for a long time (even through their 120-or-so loss season), so I'm glad they're finally playing decent. One of my friends is a huge Cubs fan, and we used to argue all the time about who was better, and it seemed like the Cubs would always do a little bit better than the Tigers (but I still get to make fun of him about the Steve Bartman thing). Marcus Thames already has 19 home runs, and he's only played about 60 games. And the Tigers have excellent pitching this year. Except Todd Jones.

Oh, and I'm going to a game tomorrow. Heh, I went to a Padres' game in 1998...

I'm a diehard Seattle Mariners fan. I startred following Ken Griffey Jr. and that developed into a love for the team. The only player I dislike is [s]Pay[/s]A-Rod and for obvious reasons.

And before you say anything Dormar, shut it, I know what you are going to say.

...And there goes the awesomeness.

I'm surprised, though, I thought most of the active memebers already knew that. Guess not.

But there's plenty I could say. Such as "Hey, when was the last time the Mariner's won the World Series...oh wait..."

And Ju Ju, I keep learning more and more about you guys everyday.

Hey, just because you haven't jumped on the Yankee$, White Sox,or Red Sox bandwagons doesn't mean he should diss you.

Keep in mind that I'm not calling all Yankees, Red Sox, or White Sox fans bandwagon fans, but it always disgusts me that people who claim to be fans are only fans of winning teams. It was especially annoying a couple years ago when Cubs "fans" my age, who claimed to be fans "since they were born" didn't know who Andre Dawson, Ryne Sandberg, Mark Grace were. I grew up a Cubs fan, but switched to the Braves when I was about 8 or 9 (they were still a crap team, like, so bad that people in Atlanta would have been happy to see them playing like they are this season) because I hated the Reds and the Braves embarassed the Reds, but the Cubs didn't (my family used to have Reds season tickets, and I would always get dragged along, so I cheered for whatever team they played.) After the strike, it took me a while to get back into baseball. I did, though, and came back to the Braves.

Fortunately, right now, the Braves and Packers don't have any of those fans. That will change, soon enough, I suppose. How many patriots fans will still have patriots hats when they go 3-13?
What about when the Yankees don't even make Wildcard?

So, yeah... somewhere in there, you should get that I'm a Braves fan (although, I admit, I've not been a good one. After opening day (Baseball opening day is close enough to a religious holiday), I didn't watch another full game until Friday's "let's see how many runs we can score" thing against the Padres.

He like to torment me on the fact that:
A)The M's have never even been to a WS
B)The Whole A-Rod debacle.

The only fans that are really bandwagon fans are Yankee fans. They are mostly bandwagon fans. Go look at picture of when the Yankees suck back in the 60's and 80's. Yankees stadium was virtually empty. The Red Sox and WhiteSox fans are true fans. Even when the Red Sox were sucking it up, they sold out every home game. The White Sox fans finally decided to come out of hiding last year. They were in the shadows because their team hadn't been to a World Series is a long time.

Don't forget Randy Johnson!

But like I said at some other time Rad, I've been a fan of The Bo Sox my whole life. I've been there for the good (2004) and the bad (2003 ALCS). I'm no fair weather fan.

You sure did...except for a World Series win. :p

And Rad, I know what you mean. After 2004, I've seen a lot more Red Sox hats around here.

I'm a pretty big Red Sox fan, too. I don't like them as much as the Tigers, but ever since I went to one of their games in 2001 or 2 I wanted to see them break the curse. It was pretty funny, the game was Red Sox vs Mariners, and in the seventh inning everyone in the stadium started chanting YANKEES SUCK! YANKEES SUCK!!! really loudly. It was hillarious.

I know! I started watching baseball in the '94 season after Dawson left, but while Sandberg and Grace were there. And Jose Hernandez, etc. But everyone jumps on the one-season craze, like with the Red Sox.. it's too bad.
I don't mind the Yankees, but it's funny that they could miss the postseason with such a large payroll. I don't blame Rodriguez though; most people will fall short of expectation with that kind of historic contract.

Well, I've enjoyed Red Sox games recently, so I guess I'm kind of a Bandwagon fan, but I'm a HUGE O's fan.

And they never win.

S'there.
