Well, that's kind of sad. Hopefully Rivers will do some solo stuff, though, because he's great.

Now doesn't that just brighten up my day. (/sarcasm) I hope he does some solo music, too, because he's so creative.

...Weezer? Should I know what this word means?

Wikipedia knows all. You should know that by now.

And really, that post was pretty spamtastic, especially when a 3-second search could've answered your question.

Pinkerton was the best album.

Yeah. By "post-Pinkerton" I meant the albums after Pinkerton. (?)

Gotcha. It's the "justified" mauling that made me thing the opposite.

Oh. I made a mistake. I meant justified because you were right, but I should've said unjustified. Whatever. Rivers is wonderful, and "The Good Life" is a great song that expresses my feelings about being an old woman. Plus, "El Scorcho" is just great. Yay Pinkerton!

Okay, so you hate one song. I'm not very fond of Beverly Hills, either. Have you even listened to any of their past albums? Don't hate on a band because of one song...

Aww crap...I liked Weezer. This is going to destroy my brother. He's a huge Weezer fan.

Nope. Rivers himself said he didn't see the point in going solo.
But you guys, he didn't say for 100% sure that they would break up. He merely suggested that they may not make another album. They've said that before. But he DID just get married so this may indeed be the end of Weezer. Who knows how he will feel a few months or a year down the road?

I mean, he graduated Harvard AND got married this past month. He must be having feelings as though it's time to move on, but he lives for music so you never know.

And for anyone judging Weezer by their last album. Go buy their first.

SAY IT AINT SO WEEZER!! SAY IT AINT SO! ;)

Wow. I, uh, thought they broke up a long time ago. Hey, good run though right? I guess.

I'm gonna prepare to dodge tomatoes now.

Eh, they had a good run. Rest in peace Wee - wait, they aren't dead.

awww. weezer is such a good band. alas, i agree that pinkerton was probably their best, but the later stuff had its strange merits, also. too dnag bad. from what i've read, though, rivers is a total jerk and he can be very moody and a pain to get along with for the other people in the band. so i guess it's good that it stayed together for this long. m gonna go listen to my weezer catalogue.

Wow. This sucks. I LOVE Weezer. But, Rivers has been living a FULL life right now, like Power Crunch said, so I can see them coming back, maybe after things have settled down.

...I hope.

I hope Rivers changes his mind about the solo stuff. Regardless of whether Weezer reunites (which I'm hoping for). His solo stuff is so kick-awesome it makes me want to scream.

While I'm not doubting the awesomeness, I'm still hoping that they'll get back together.

With the exception of the song "Beverly Hills," I think Weezer is/was a fantastic group. "Undone" is one of the catchiest songs I heard growing up.

Man, I love Weezer. And my money is on more albums later on. It might be 3 or 4 years, but they'll be back. Just like the old hiatus between pinkerton and the green album.

Wow, that sucks. I wouldn't have even know, unless I had read it here. Boourns. I really enjoy Weezer, they made some really original and fun music. Buddy Holly is my alltime most favourite song to sing on a sunny day.

*sniffle*

Yeah, I'm none too worried about this breakup anymore. I mentioned it to the Botfriend this morning, and he knows a lot more about music than anyone I know. Anyhow, he's been a hardcore fan since the blue album (after which many of my generation sort of forgot about Weezer for 10 years or so). And his response was, "Yeah, that'll happen". So I am abandoning all my worries in the hope that it's just temporary.

From Patrick Wilson's website:

Quote:
What is up with all the crazy bad journalism drawn from Rivers interview? I can assure you that =w= is fully intact. I know this because I am in Weezer. The glaring proof that today's media is shallow reveals itself in this simple fact: not one person called me to ask my opinion. Which is cool cuz I would have made up some fantastic lie about becoming an Antarctic explorer.
