GAH! YOU SAID IT!

*Shoots Ace in the head*
Well, you could always call Acer by his old name, Acekirby13.

Ah, but my old name was even worse. The "A" wasn't even capitalized. Besides, it's not as bad as old Zysky's there. ;)

*shot a million times*

Actually, remember Revert-Back Day? BTG and I refused to change our names back because they sucked.

Heck, I think my name on the wiki is Acekirby13. But that's okay, since I never do anything on there.

My name has always been CT here. I thought about changing it just before usernames were locked, though. Never did. In some ways, I'm kinda glad. People call Freezair a dude sometimes, but nobody gonna think that Cybernetic Teenybopper's a dude, man. So, Mr. Cybernetic...

I pretty much joined right before they outlawed changing usernames. I remember seeing the notice in General Discussion. I didn't even know that I could do that.

I joined and posted for a few days, pretty much forgot about this place for a month or so and came back.
I actually joined before a few of the bigger personalities, while the forum was still relatively small. There are so many users to keep up with now.
I remember how it first came to the public's attention that I was actually a girl!
A lot of people sure were surprised!

That's happened a few times here. Ath-a-late also comes to mind. And Alexander was the same way with the opposite gender.

- Everyone having sigs that read "Yay! 50 posts!" or some similar non-notable accomplishment. This was right around when I joined, so it would have been November of 2004.

- Everyone liked my original user name (ackicantthinkofausername).

- Fun times in IRC last summer. Like, really fun times. I think I logged most of those.

- The original countdown from 5,000 thread. We never thought it would get to 1...until it hit 400 or so one fateful April afternoon. It went from 400 to 1 in the space of 3 hours or so. It got to the point where almost everyone was posting, and in the last 20 or so, things started going out of order as the server slowly melted into a smoldering pile of silicon as everyone tried to post at the same time. About 6 people posted '1' at the same time, reason being that Seethroo declared that the prize would be for hitting it would get a rotating avatar like his. In the following days someone posted a method for getting a rotating avatar/sig and the whole thing kinda lost its allure. I think the thread was auto-pruned, though. That was fun.

- The random bandwidth exceeded times. One happened in the middle of 1936 day, so when the forum came back 3 days later, everyone was still in 1936 mode.

- At least once I was the reason for a consolidation of services. The first was the "banner place" craze, when I posted "breadtangle's banner and avatar shack". This led to the "BA Force". Second was my fanfic, which may not have been the ultimate reason but was definitely the last fan-created thing posted before the creation of the A&C board.

Those were great memories. Not the bandwith thing as much, but I thought the Bandwith refugee thing was pretty cool. Plus it added to the frequency and awesomeness of the IRC chats.

I remember the "You've got to fix this bandwidth problem!!!" posts followed by "Heck no, I'm not giving any money!"

Of course, mine was the best. I went all the way to Germany just to get it for you.
I still remember that day. Like. Perfectly. There was a band of like, tribal instruments playing, and I just sat in the grass, looking at the hillsides of Germania, listening to that music. It was so peaceful.

I remember when I came, I posted A LOT right from the get-go. And, I thought a lot of people hated me because of it.

IRC memories: Oh man, I loved IRC. I freakin' loved that chat system. I swear, I think I actually went on there more than the forum itself in summer 2005.

But the thing I remember most is my short-lived relationship with one Marshmallow Roast.

I remember how I found out about it. A Folky Tale had just been released and it was the talk of the town. Myrrh had posted in..... some thread (the chat party one mayhap?) and said that when the guy she had previously developed a crush on came onto IRC (this was back when IRC was actually cool), she would flee. That's weird, I know, but that's the way her mind works. And it's hot. :P Anyways, I had a hunch it was me for some.... bizarre reason, and I got onto IRC.

She left.

The rest is history. IRC history.

*sighs* I miss the IRC days.... they came to a screeching halt when school came back around.

I got a lobster dinner, coffees and my choice of 3 weird hats!
That was a lot of fun!

I remember Lech Licenses. I remember I wanted one, but I didn't want to have to go through all the "rigorous" training.

Yeah, I take the thougts right out of people's heads sometimes.
:D
Anyways. I remember when I used to be ikipapa1. And the Sean'd! or Jerome told me to remove the 1. So I did. And then Cmar made that banner (the one I was just using, before I trashed it), and he spelled my name iKipapa. And I liked that a TON better. So I kept it that way.

Simply put, IRC last summer was a gift from the Gods. We need to start doing that again. But not on Sunday nights. That's a horrible time.

Yeah, it was a doozy of a 509. He gave up GamerFocus bandwith for a Hrwiki Forum Refugee thing.
