No, no, no, 15-M-M and Cruel Melee is brutal, 100-M-M is easy.

...When compared to the 15 Minute Melee and the Cruel Melee.

Alls I know is that it was incredibly hard to get Falco.

Psh. Just use DK, and mash down-b. I think that's the one. Whichever move makes him repeatedly slap the ground.

It makes it pretty pretty easy.

Of course I tried that, but it doesn't help that I suck with DK. I got knocked off the platform in no time.

100-Man Melee can be a little jarring at first, I think, but after a while it's not so hard. 15-Minute Melee is the hardest thing you have to beat for something, IMO. It's just draining...

WOO. I get to play the whole game over again.
It got deleted? How the crap does that happen? I'd like to know so it doesn't happen to me. Even though I kinda don't have much unlocked...because I kinda...well....suck.

Here's how it happens:
Step 1: Put in a memory card that doesn't have an SSBM file on it.
Step 2: Realize it's the wrong one, and put the right memory card in. The 'would you like to overwrite blah blah blah" thing pops up.
Step 3: Stupid friend your playing with presses A, and like magic -POOF!- Everything is gone.
Step 4: Get really angry at friend and beat the everloving you-know-what outta him.*

*Step 4 is optional.

Also, on the matter of getting rid of clones, I'd die if they took my Dr. Mario away. Him = one of my favorites. Along with Mewtwo, Peach, and Bowser.

EDIT: I love the multi- man melees. I usually do them with any character, not just DK. But DK is one of the characters I'm better with. There are a few characters I'm at my best with, half the characters I'm decent with, and the other half I'm absolutely terrible with.

I bought the game just last week for $27 at EBGames, and I like it, but the disk is horribly scratched and will almost always crash within 15 minutes guarunteed. Fortunately, the store gave us a 14-day window to return it for another one, so that's what I'm going to do tomorrow. So far I got a few trophys and Jigglypuff, so I suppose I got pretty far despite the crappy disk. I could only play Zelda without it crashing every 10 minutes.

Personally, I like Fox and Link the best. But a secret character I want to unlock is Falco, though I heard he's somewhat hard to get. :p He's still a kick-butt character.

That reminds me of (here we go again) yet another random, anecdotal slice of my life...

A friend of mine rented Mario Kart: Double Dash! once. Unfortunately, we couldn't play it because the disk kept crashing on start-up. We tried to fix the scratches with toothpaste, but that didn't work. So we took it back.

Later, I bought a copy of Double Dash elsewhere, which ALSO crashed on start-up. I looked at the disk, and I swear, it was the exact same flippin' disk. It even still smelled minty fresh!

*Twilight Zone music!!!!!* Toastpaint. I'm really good at Samus and DK, but I've never joined a "tounament", but if I wanted to I could probably find one.

Gah, I've passed by this thread, thinking it was some online thing. Now that I know its for SSBros, I'm on. I am really good at Bowser and Mewtwo.

I wish I was still playing video games in my old school, we used to play it all the time.

I was only ever in a tournament once, and that was back before I had developed any skill, so I got fifth out of sixteen, which isn't too bad. But if I played in that same tournament with my present skill, I would pwn.

Yeah, Jigglypuff pwnz. Seriously.

He sings his opponents to sleep and beats the crap outta them anyways. And his rest attack can burn the enemy and blow him up to smithereens.

I recommend him.

(Can I join this Brotherhood? Well, I'm already Chief Commander of the DS Fleet so I guess it doesn't matter)

I was experimenting yesterdaywith some characters I don't typically use, and started messing around with Falco. I've been playing my butt off with him now, for two reasons:

1. Get better with him
2. Get more Vs. Matches to unlock characters

I find 100 Man Melee to be easy. I have done it with three characters. Roy and Sheik just from fighting, and DK through his handslap. What fun.
I have been in a tournament a few times, myself. I won all of them, but just because I wasn't fighting the best gamers.

Pit, Meta-Knight, and Wario make dutiful appearances as new characters, but...

Alright, sorry for the bit of necromacy there, but this doesn't fit at all in the brawl thread one bit.

Anywho, a little earlier, my brother and I were playing SSBM on Stamina mode, just for fun, we were both Fox on Final Destination, seeing who could mash B the fastest. After a few rounds we got tired, or else we just started fighting for real. Well, I had hit my brother with a Lip's Stick, and his health was almost gone. A party ball opened beside him, and he ran to pick up the food that came out. At that EXACT instant, I turned and fired at him, just when he picked up some food. Suddenly, we noticed that his health was not at one, or two, or whatever number it had been, but zero. Only the deal is, he was still alive. After we recovered from the shock, my brother started tromping around saying "Iiiii''m a zoombiiiie!" It was pretty cool. We had to figure out a way to put the guy out of his undead misery. We chose a bo-omb. It worked.

Another fun thing, albeit not glitchy, Is to go to Giant Melee, choose Mario, and have only Super Mushrooms. Get one, so he is gianted twice, and then press d-up. The bugger fills up nearly half the course (on Final destination, that is) Heh, conversely, we've also tried tiny melee, with poision shrooms. At his smallest, mario was roughly the size of the lid on a capsule (which is funny to see him carry, btw).

Funky!

I've sometimes had a weird glitch happen to me on Battlefield. Suddenly, the whole field will go "lo-grav" on me. Suddenly I can jump super-high and it's very odd...

I think that's the way it always is in Single-player. But I'm not entirely sure.

Yeah, Eldy's right. It always does that in one player mode.

Bump Attack!

My brother and I have made up a challenge: Try to get as many people over 1000 ft. in the Home-Run Contest. So far, we have:

Everybody in the top row of characters
Everbody in the middle row except Kirby, Samus, and Young Link
Pichu
Jigglypuff

Good Luck!

Hm, maybe I'll try that tomorrow.

It's funny, I was looking for this thread a few hours ago, and it was on the fourth or fifth page. Interesting conincedence that it was bumped the same day.

I played the event match that has Ness in it, and I reliazed how ggood he is. Oh, and if you go to the DK level that isnt the sail ship, make your computer character Ness at level 9, he will kill himself instantly.

It's because you're not supposed to have Sheik or Captain Falcon use the Home Run Bat... if I recall correctly, it's B for C. Falcon and Smash-Up for Sheik. No bats involved.

I never play the mini-games, anyway.

Where do you suppose that "restaurant" beta stage is from?

what's the big deal about link/ samus? How do you controll them? Pluss, they're slow attackers. I personaly favor Mario, all his clones(Dr. Mario/Luigi), Princess peach, and Kirby as I can controll them easier.

J'aime jouer avec Roy. Il est très fort, mais n'est pas trop lent. (Use a French translator.)

This one time, I was playing as Roy and I had about 100% damage on my last life, and my friends I was playing against decided to gang up on me. One had 2 lives, one had one life. Both had low damage. I beat them both.

Link and samus are great. They have stong attack, but arent slow like donkey kong and bowser. Also, they arent slow attackers. I always play as link when I can, and I rarely lose, even when it is a bunch of level 9s against me in super sudden death.

I occasionally play as samus, but just in story mode, or if I'm breaking records. Shes good.

I'm not sure how to answer "How do I control them?". You use a gamecube controller is the biggest hint I can give you.

There is really nothing special about the mario clones. They are exactly like mario, but they just shoot different stuff. One shoots a green fireball, and the other shoots pills.

Anyways, all the characters are just about evenly matched. You have to learn how to use each character.
