Wait, how tight are those firework bans? Because in the UK you need a liscance (which are easy to get a holf of if you have the money) but the will only give you a warning if you use fireworks without one.

It depends on where you are. I know that, in some of the more urban areas of Kentucky, they're pretty tough with the bans... In the area I'm from, police officers buy from the stands.

I'm really not sure how they are here in Huntsville, Alabama. I haven't been through a "fireworks holiday" here, yet, so I really can't say. I don't even know the laws, I just know that there are tons of fireworks stores within a short distance from my apartment.

AMW, keep in mind that Funkstar is British too. So he was making fun of himself as well, which kind of nullifies the whole thing.

That must have been really scary. Glad no one got hurt. I kind of get freaked out when someone is lighting off fireworks near me, like at a party. There's just so much potential for danger.

I can't figure this Ohio place out. THey're sort of legal--there's a big permanent fireworks store right next to the McDonalds, for pete sake--but I think it's illegal to use them? (?) :coachz: (?)

It's also fun to put a can of ax body spray in a fire. Don't stand too close.

A can of Ax doesn't even come close to one of these:

(Not that I would know anything about the explosive nature of one of them).

Please please please, don't even think about trying it at home. (Let's just say I was over a 3/4 of a mile away and heard the boom)

*hands over his pyro crown to Stu, then directs all of his friends to this thread* SEE?!?! I'M NOT THE BIGGEST PYRO YOU KNOW!!!!
*friends tell Ty they don't know Stu, meaning Ty is still the biggest pyro THEY know*
Crap...

I've seen that done, thankfully, I've never done that. We DID throw a can of "great stuff" spray foam in a fire once. Wow... That is ALSO not a good idea... The phrase "DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING THIS" definately applies. Seriously. Don't be dumb. You'll get a'sploded and hurt really bad.

I didn't actually see the explosion... I just heard it (as that was the intelligent thing to do)... I have watched a full can of Pam (cooking spray) explode. That was pretty sweet :)

Never seen that..

I think the dumbest thing we ever did when we were young is that we took a can of black powder, put the hole in the bottom and left a powder trail to the can. We BARELY left the trail long enough to get us far enough away from the can. We lit the trail, and, unlike in the movies and TV where you see the slow burn, the whole thing almost instantly flashed, and the can exploded. That wasn't fun.. We didn't get hurt too much, but I lost some hair on my arm. Oh well.. We learn from our mistakes, and I'm not doing that again.

Yeah... blackpowder does seem to burn pretty fast:) But... hair grows back faster :)

You know, we oughta change the name of this thread to "Misadventures in Pyromania" or something like that..

I agree, although "My friend nearly Exploded" is pretty descriptive too...

My friends have apperantly done stuff with axe and fire many times, but I think I was only really there once. We were out at a youth group meeting/my suprise birthday party, and we found this big hollow metal thing, sort of like a drum, or a furnace. It had a big opening in the bottom and a hole at the top (shaped sort of like a steam train, actually) so we decided to put that on the fire and throw the axe in there. Didn't work too well, though; the explosion mostly went out the bottom instead of shooting out the top.

Once when my friends were in south dakota (without me :( ) they had a bunch of fireworks. Then this one guy just threw all the roman candles into the fire at once, and fireballs started shooting out all over. All my friends were like running to hide behind something, and they got most of it on tape even. Sorta funny to watch, but I'm really glad i wasn't there!

I have lots of fire stories.....

...sometimes, I think I only want to know Forum Stu, not normal Stu... ;)

Once, I shot a can of bugspray with a BB Gun and it got all fizzy. I wasn't sure what was going to happen, so I grabbed it and chucked it the trashcan and shut the lid. If it ever did explode, it would've been really cool to see the trashcan jump up.

My guess is that, if it were to have exploded, it would have done so when you pierced the can. That's when the pressure was the highest inside the can.
Of course, I'm not really up on my "can a'splosion" physics, so I can't say for sure.
Adam, Jamie? Where are you when we need you?

Actually, I was going to send in a tape for the last mythtern position, but the tapes were due the day I found out about it, so I didn't have time to make one.
That show is great stuff. For those of you who don't know what Mythbusters is, and it's hard to imagine there are people who don't, Mythbusters is best described as Mister Wizard meets crap for brains... It's kinda like Brainiac, just a little more tame.
